"Selena and George were all over each other and things got very heated. Everyone else left the room at 2a.m., so they were able to spend the night together," the source added.

George is said to have missed his flight to London the next day. But his band members Josh Cuthbert, Jaymi Hensley and JJ Hamlbett were not upset with him.

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie rent 23k pounds-a-week mansion

London: Hollywood star couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly renting a luxury mansion in Australia for 23,270 pounds-a-week.

The duo, who already have a multi-million pound home in Malibu and on the French Riviera, have reportedly splashed out on a plush pad in the posh suburb of Bellevue in Sydney as they want to spend the rest of the year with their six children, reported Daily Mirror.

The lavish property, used before by Will Smith, is complete with 12 bedrooms, a private tennis court, a swimming pool for a quick dip to cool down, a gym, and a cinema room to unwind after a hard day at work.

Estate agent Julie Rogers, who leased out the property to the couple, said, "It`s without doubt one of the finest properties in Sydney."

Mother-in-law is my role model: Drew Barrymore

Los Angeles: `Charlie`s Angels` star Drew Barrymore says her mother-in-law Coco Kopelman is her muse and has taught her how to be a good wife and mother.

The 38-year-old actress, who has a 11-month-old daughter, Olive, with her husband Will Kopelman, credits his mother for teaching her how to be a good person, reported us magazine.

"She is the best. My mother-in-law is actually my muse, just on how to be a person and a wife and a mother," Barrymore said.

The actress, who had a troubled childhood, is very close to all of Will`s family and revealed her sister-in-law Jill is throwing Olive`s first birthday party on September 26.

"We have a little party going on for her, a little first birthday that my sister-in-law is throwing. I`m like Jill, take over," she said.

Top 5 TV Females to Watch This Fall

With the past two Septembers bringing us break-out series like The Mindy Project and Scandal, Hollywood is proving that strong female leads are here to stay. Zooey may want to hold onto her adorable thick-framed glasses though, there are some new girls in town.

"Pilot" -- CBSâ??s new comedy MOM stars Anna Faris (right) as Christy, a newly sober single mom raising two children in a world full of temptations and pitfalls, and Allison Janney as her passive-aggressive, recovering alcoholic mother. MOM will premiere this Fall, Mondays (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Photo: Monty Brinton/CBS ?© 2013 CBS Broadcasting, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
Is Anna Faris finally sobering up from her days as everyone’s favorite house bunny? As struggling single mom Christy (Faris) tries to navigate raising her children and dealing with her past, her own mother (Allison Janney) insists on lending a bit of knowledge to the process. You may not be a recovering alcoholic but let’s face it, we can all relate to the power struggle that comes with overbearing parents. As both female leads will face ups and downs with their family, romantic lives and jobs, maybe we can learn a little about compromise and acceptance within our own home units. Premieres Sept. 23 on CBS.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Joss whedon is no stranger to creating some paramount female characters. Seriously, did no one else fantasize about slaying demons while still maintaining perfectly straight hair? This fall he brings us three new women in the premiere series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Elizabeth Henstridge, Ming-Na Wen and Chloe Bennet comprise half of the six member team dedicated to protecting the boring, normal citizens of the world from the usual super-human villains. Premieres Sept. 24 on ABC.

Reign

America’s new found obsession with period dramas isn’t going anywhere soon but far from Downton Abbey is The CW’s newest series Reign. The 15-year-old Queen Mary (Adelaide Kane)  is politically savvy — sent to France to marry a prince and finalize an alliance between the country and Scotland — and isn’t about to take any crap from her future in-laws. Of course, like any other teen monarch, Mary faces betrayal, some catty royals and those pesky dark forces that wind up in every countryside castle. No doubt the young queen will take on the French Court and come out on top and teenage girls everywhere will learn just what it takes to deal with arranged marriage and Nostradamus’s prophecies in 16th-century France. Premieres Oct. 17 on The CW.

Masters of Sex

If Lena Dunham’s Girls didn’t do it for you, maybe Lizzy Caplan's portrayal of a sex researcher in Showtime’s Masters of Sex will. The one-hour series will chronicle the work of Dr. William Masters and partner/wife/ex-wife Virginia Johnson as they attempt to bring both science and the public into the discussion of intimacy and sexual behavior. Don’t worry, this won’t be 60-minutes of medical labs: the relationship between the two will be the more explored element of the show. It’s worth to watch not simply for what we’re sure will be some explicit scenes, but to learn more about the pioneering life of Johnson and the courage it took to talk openly about these subjects as a female in the 50s. Premieres Sept. 29 on Showtime.

Once Upon A Time In Wonderland

The adventures from Once Upon A Time aren’t over yet — even if the girl is stuck in some mental institute somewhere in the boondocks of Maine. Spinoff Once Upon A Time In Wonderland will follow lead female Sophie Lowe as she portrays everyone’s favorite fairytale character. Finding her way back to the rabbit-hole is the least of her problems: once she’s there the residents of Wonderland are sure to begin giving her hell once again. If you can learn anything from Alice, it’s that you should definitely avenge your genie-boyfriend’s death and fight against the Queen of Hearts. Premieres Oct. 10 on ABC.

Celebrity Fashion Lines You Never Heard Of

Amanda Bynes Amanda Bynes unveils her new clothing line 'Dear' with Steve & Barry's at the Manhattan Mall Featuring: Amanda Bynes Where: New York City, United States When: 16 Aug 2007 Credit: A. Miller/WENN
Since we first slipped on a pair of Vanderbuilt jeans to the endless succession of bandage dresses of the Kardashian Kollection, we've all been well versed in the appeal of celebrity "fashion" lines. But for every mogul-in the making who ranks in millions such as Jessica Simpson who got rich off peep-toe shoes to Jay-Z's expansive streetwear brand, Rockawear – there are those whose designs either fly under the fashion radar or are an insult to design itself. Here are a number of celebs to add to your designer vocabulary.
Avril Lavigne

If you're not a 13 year-old girl or are not the parent of one, chances are you've been living your life blissfully unaware of Acril Lavigne's career and her budding fashion line. This modest juniors brand, Abbet Dawn, first emerged in 2008, exclusively available at Kohl's featuring atypical "rock and roll" styles such as baby tees with safety pins and plaid skirts. Since then, the princess of pop punk has added accessories, menswear and three perfumes to her line and even showed at New York Fashion Week. Tees emblazoned with bow-adorned skulls and messages like "I F**king Love You B*tch," inside a heart are at the core of the brand. So the next time you're stuck at the beach without edgy enough flip-flops, Abbey Dawn has got you covered.
Richard Simmons

Perpetually enthusiastic and general beacon of light, Richard Simmons was never known for his sophisticated style. After all, the man makes his living wearing bedazzled tank tops and hot pants. So it should come as no surprise that his foray into fashion contains equal flash and inspirational messaging in the form of his jewelry line Sparkle, for Jewelry Television.  Inspired by his greatest loves: fitness, fashion and animals, he has designed three niche collections for the retailer. There's "Pawmates," featuring "Cat Lover" necklaces, the "Signature Collection," as his ode to the rocking oldies with music notes and many more trinkets to choose from. Time to stick to the leg lifts, Richard.
Amanda Bynes

Before Amanda Bynes'' complete unraveling became schadenfreude material to the entire public, she was just the chipmunk-cheeked girl next door with her own teen fashion line. Back in the bygone days of 2007, she launched her line, "Dear" for the now since defunct Steve & Barry – featuring wholesome hoodies for pre-teens and lots of awkward layering. After the line and the retailer both fell victim to the recession and good taste, Bynes announced this year that she's gearing up for another line, post her psychiatric stint.  Her archival tunic dresses and "walking shorts" are still available through Amazon for those devoted completists.
Matthew McConaughey
Matthew McConaugheyDave Edwards
For a man who's better known for his lack of clothes, it seems an odd choice for Matthew McConaughey to come out with his own clothing line. His "Just Keep Living", line will feature basic sportswear pieces like: moisture-wicking tees so you don't have to strip off your shirt when paparazzi come round, and other "all-journey gear" whose description sounds like those zip-off cargo pants that are beloved by Dads everywhere. Shilling your brand aside, a portion of each purchase of the line will go towards McConaughey's charity of the same name. Until JKL hits Dilliards this fall, you'll just have to settle for those "Life is Good" t-shirts at the airport.
Kim Gordon

Given the Renaissance woman she is and all-around cool person, it seems the former Sonic Youth front woman can do no wrong in anyone's eyes. While her latest art exhibition gives us pause, her past clothing collaborations are certainly more approachable than most. Her X-Girl line in the early nineties was modeled by It-girls Chloe Sevigny and Sofia Coppola and later, she teamed up with Urban Outfitters for her capsule collection Mirror/Dash  in 2009. Her slouch sweaters for the brand weren't much to shrug at, but then again she's never been one for flash. Gordon rounded out her fashion repertoire most recently with the cult-brand Surface to Air, featuring sleek stagewear and plenty of ankle boots – satisfying the hearts of many a fashion blogger.
Honorable Mentions
While every day a new celebrity fashion line springs forth, there are simply too many to mention, but there are a few to keep your eye out for. For the Civil War reenactment enthusiasts and anyone who self describes themselves as bo-ho, John Mayer has the accessory for you! His continuing collaboration with leather maker Barret Alley has yielded $190 bracelets featuring Civil War-era bone button closures and deerskin wallets called the Judas Pouch -- a subtle gift for that boyfriend who cheated on you. Also pinch those pennies forSylvester Stallone's Rocky-inspired line, "Sly Inc," which will launch next year and include everything from jeans, shirts, outerwear, underwear, watches and probably free tickets to see the new Rocky musical.

Tom Hardy to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond?

London: `The Dark Knight Rises` villain Tom Hardy is reportedly being lined up as Daniel Craig`s successor once the actor steps down from his role as big screen spy `James Bond`.

The 36-year-old actor is at the top of the list to take over from the `Skyfall` star once his time as the fictional British spy comes to an end after his next two films, reported Daily Express.

"Although Craig is signed up for the next two Bond films the search for his replacement is already on. Tom is right at the top of the wish list. He`s been approached to gauge his interest and he`s keen," a source said.

Hardy has been described as `perfect Bond material` and he comes with a great reputation.

"He is a respected actor with a great catalogue of films but most importantly he`s the type of guy that all men want to be like and all women want to be with. He`s perfect Bond material," the source added.

Hardy has previously expressed a keen interest to play the big screen secret agent, and the saga`s bosses are determined to make the right decision by casting the right man in the iconic role.

"The Bond franchise is getting more popular than ever. Getting the next Bond right is crucial to guarantee continued success and Hardy is seen as the man to do that," the source said.

Back in the Good Old Days — Films About Nostalgia

Dazed and ConfusedGramercy Pictures (I)

Fetishizing the past can be a dangerous thing, but it's something we all succumb to — just earlier now than when we reach our twilight years. In a world of washed-out Instagram posts and 90210 reboots, we're even feeling nostalgic about when first started writing this post. Hollywood has always been a breeding ground for nostalgia. In an industry that worships youth and the glory days of its original splendor, that sense of longing for what was, pops up in films every decade.
Period pieces and remakes have their own baggage, but these films are driven by characters that are either stuck in the past, or seek to recreate the magic of a bygone era — even ones they haven't experienced. Each is plagued by rose-tinted memories, whether it is a string of ex-girlfriends, their childhood memories, fleeting fame, the unfinished pub crawl, an unhealthy obsession with a sled and other hang-ups.
While all these films carry variations on the same theme, some peddle the warm, fuzzy Disney kind of nostalgia, while others serve as a wake up call to participate in the present and grow up already. So the next time you lament about the simpler times before smartphones and our attention spans being sucked into a great white-void, just take comfort in the fact that previous generations griped about those "talking pictures" and how cassettes destroyed vinyl.

Lawyer Up! Fictional Legal Characters We Wish Were Real

Breaking Bad

In this day and age of over-litigation, having somebody represent you legally is almost a life necessity. Whether you’ve been wrongfully charged for first-degree murder or managing your vast drug empire, you’re going to need a lawyer. Too bad that those types of legal representation can only be found on TV or in movies. But these folks below will go above and beyond those stiff-necks at Law & Order are willing to do. When your life depends on it, trust these guys and gals to represent you!
Saul Goodman
Need advice about your meth empire? Need millions of dollars safely laundered? Want to disappear? Better call Saul! Albuquerque’s best criminal lawyer will handle all of your needs, and keep it all on the down low. If you need to reach him, he’s got numerous phones to keep in touch. S’all good, man!
Elle Woods
Don’t be fooled about this Legally Blonde intern; she’s got the figures to win your trial if you’re being charged with murder. Just when you think the jury will go against you, she’ll look at the case from another angle, like washing permed hair within 24 hours will deactivate the ammonium thioglycolate. And more importantly, she’ll be sympathetic to your fashion needs!
Vincent ‘Vinny’ Gambini
If you’re looking for a lawyer that will go to jail for your behalf, Vincent Gambini is your man! He will lie, take on a new identity, be found in contempt for court, and wear ridiculous velvet suits to make sure you won’t make it to the electric chair. My Cousin Vinny needs a little on-the-job training, but rest assured he’ll find that tiny detail (with the assistance of his lovely fiancée) that will swing the jury in your favor.
Lt. Daniel Kafee
Dealing with court-martials are tricky and unraveling military conspiracies are even trickier, which is why only A Few Good Men can handle them. Lt. Daniel Kafee will demand the truth behind every case that lands on his lap, even if he can’t handle it. He may come off as inexperienced and blasé at first, and his tendencies to resort to plea bargains may scare off potential clients. In the end, he’ll slam his fist on the podium and speechify your way out of life sentence.
Ally McBeal
Dancing with imaginary babies aside, Ally McBeal is someone you would be glad to have representing you. She is a Harvard graduate and works for one of Boston’s prestigious firms. However, her personal life may encroach on her professional life. Be prepared to hear about the details of your deposition in one moment, and her volatile romantic life the next. If you find her flightiness endearing, wshe and her partners are more than happy to tackle your case.

Why John Reese of 'Person of Interest' is One of Network TV's Best Characters

Person of Interest

Once House, M.D. went off the air, the complexity of characters on network TV shows took a nosedive. That was before Person of Interest, which returns Thursday, September 23 at 10 PM ET. It's a well-crafted show with a lot of intrigue, and I consider Jim Caviezel's character John Reese to be one of the best characters on network television now. (Important distinction: I'm not including cable shows here, because they tend to operate on a different level, due to fewer restrictions.)
Reese is a weapon, essentially, but he's so much more than just a fighting machine. He's got a tragic backstory that is unfolding as each season goes on, and Caviezel plays him perfectly. He works with a mysterious billionaire named Finch (played by the spectacular Michael Emerson), who gets unexplained Social Security numbers from a machine that operates a massive surveillance system that Finch helped create and uses them to rescue people who are in danger.
Adding to the intrigue, Reese wants to find out more about his mysterious boss, and Finch is more than happy to partake in the cat-and-mouse search, knowing full well that he's cloaked his true identity. Reese has found out more than he would like, though, and is still standing by Finch. There's always trouble brewing, though.

Reese isn't a superhero. Though he's quite capable of walking into a U.S. Marshals office and decimating several of them like a force of nature, he's also been shot and actually been outwitted by a nemesis of both of them. He's a very deadly person, but he's human. He's stoic, but Caviezel shows an intelligence and wry sense of humor behind that exterior. Caviezel and Emerson play off each other fantastically, and Taraji P. Henson and Kevin Chapman round off a nice ensemble that makes for very entertaining television. I'm looking forward to learning more about Reese's story.

Rock Star Stage Names — Some of the Best

What’s in a name? Everything if you’re a rock star. Majority of people are born with boring, everyday names - unless, of course, you’re born to a 20th century celebrity, in which case your name is a fruit, Disney character, or another entry from the MeSoUnique dictionary. In order to be larger-than-life celebrities, these rockers opted for a larger-than-life name.
Here’s a rundown of rockers with some of the best names that their mamas don't call them by.
Marilyn Manson (Brian Hugh Warner)
The artist formerly known as Brian Hugh Warner came up with his stage name by combing the names of 2 infamous icons from the 1960s: Marilyn Monroe and Charles Manson. He chose the 2 celebs because he wanted to have the “fakest stage name of all” to reflect the phoniness of show business. Well played, Brian.
Axl Rose (William Bruce Rose, Jr.)
Before his name was synonymous with rock star douchebaggery, Axl Rose was called William Bruce Rose, Jr. The name we’ve all come to love and loathe him by came from the name of one of the first bands he was in when he first moved to Los Angeles: AXL. Of course, there is that whole anagram story…
Elvis Costello (Declan Patrick MacManus)
Declan MacManus may sound like the name of a capo from the Westies, but it’s actually the birth name of post-punk rock god Elvis Costello. Costello took his name from his musician father’s stage name (Day Costello) and Elvis Presley.
Cat Power (Charlyn Marie Marshall) Cat Power sounds like the slogan of a felinist wanting to empower kitties everywhere, but really the indie rocker’s stage name came from a guy wearing a Caterpillar trucker cap. Power was part of a band that needed a name for their first show, and after seeing a man in a “Cat Diesel Power” hat, she knew she found the name. Though she ended up moving to New York a couple years after, the name stuck and she’s been Cat Power ever since.
Slash (Saul Hudson)
Back in the 70s, when someone said “Better call Saul,” they were talking about Saul Hudson. Slash got his nickname from family friend and actor Seymour Cassel, who started calling him the name due to the fact that he was always in a hurry and never in one place for a long period of time.
Iggy Pop (James Newell Osterberg) Iggy Pop has long been called the Godfather of Punk, but his real name sounds like the name of an 80-year-old Russian history professor. After serving as the drummer for The Iguanas, Mr. Osterberg officially became Iggy. The “Pop” came after a friend of the Stooges, Jimmy Pop, lost all his hair, including his eyebrows, prompting Iggy to shave off his eyebrows in tribute and consequently being dubbed Iggy Pop.
Joe Strummer (John Graham Mellor)
John Graham Mellor sure doesn’t sound like the name of the frontman of one of the original punk bands, so it’s no surprise that he changed his name. Before he was Joe Strummer, though, he went by Woody Mellor, in honor of folk legend Woody Guthrie. He used this moniker during his time with the 101’ers and a couple years before the Clash was born, changed his name to Joe Strummer. The “Joe” was to signify that he was nothing special, just a “regular joe,” and the “Strummer” pertained to his rather lackluster rhythm guitar skills.
The Cramps: Lux Interior (Erick Lee Purkhiser) & Poison Ivy (Kristy Marlana Wallace)
“Hi, my name is Lux Interior and this is my wife, Poison Ivy.” Few people get to drop opening lines like that, but the 2 permanent members of psychobilly pioneers the Cramps were an exception. Interior not surprisingly took his name from an old car commercial, while Ivy (who also went by Ivy Rorschach) stated the name had come to her in a dream.
Brody Dalle (Bree Joanna Alice Robinson) With a name like Bree Joanna Alice Robinson, you’re either going to become a Type A debutante who looks up to Paris Hilton, or you’re going to drop every part of your name and become one of the most hardcore lead singers of a punk rock band. Luckily for the world, Bree Robinson opted for the latter and changed her name to Brody. Before she adopted her last name from crazy/badass French actress Beatrice Dalle, however, she was known as Brody Armstrong (aka Tim Armstrong’s wife). A Rolling Stone tongue-makeout session with Josh Homme later, Brody Armstrong officially became Brody Dalle.
Sid Vicious (John Simon Ritchie)
Born John Simon Ritchie, Sid Vicious went on to personify the defining aspects of punk rock – rebellion, attitude, and safety pins. The story of the Sex Pistols is one of abrupt fame coupled with an even speedier decline, and Vicious’ scandalous life and tumultuous relationship with girlfriend Nancy Spungen made for a punk rock fairytale, where there’s no such thing as a happy ending. The best part of all this, though, is that the dude was named after a hamster. After being bit by Johnny Rotten’s fuzzy, lovable hamster Sid, the then-John Ritchie said, “Sid is really vicious!,” and Rotten decided that a star was born.

'Burn Notice' Finale Didn't Torch Fans

BURN NOTICE -- "Desperate Measures" -- Pictured: Jeffrery Donovan as Michael Westen -- (Photo by Glenn Watson/USA Network)BURN NOTICE -- "Desperate Measures" -- Pictured: Jeffrery Donovan as Michael Westen -- (Photo by Glenn Watson/USA It's been a while since Burn Notice ended its run at seven seasons and I'm still digesting what happened. Be warned though, I'm going to go into spoiler-heavy details, so if you haven't seen the episode, stop now, watch it and then come back. I'll be here. I'm serious. Shoo. OK. You good now? I'll continue.
I disliked how this season had gone in terms of plot, what with them straying away from the formula of Michael Westen and his crew helping out people in trouble. Heck, they had even stopped doing the captions like "Steve Austin... The Bad Guy." Instead, they had Westen go undercover and into a very deep, dark place.
The show attempted to redeem itself very quickly in this episode, with Westen snapping back to his normal self very quickly and reuniting with his crew, Fiona Glenanne, Sam Axe and Jesse Porter and got them figuring out how to extricate themselves from the mess they were in: both the CIA and a terrorist organization after them.
There were some emotional moments. The most touching part was the goodbye call between Westen and his mother, Maddie, who was about to sacrifice herself to give him a chance against his nemesis, James Kendrick, the terrorist leader. It was a redemption of sorts for Maddie, who had let both Westen and his brother, Nate, be abused by their father growing up, Despite my dislike of how the season had gone, I found my living room to be very dusty, despite my having vacuumed earlier. Sharon Gless, Jeffrey Donovan and Coby Bell all handled those scenes really well.
The writers also made callbacks to some of the more famous lines from the show, with Bruce Campbell's Axe saying his "spies are a bunch of b----y girls" and Fiona sort of reprising his opening line: "My name is Michael Westen. I used to be a spy" which is total fan service, but it worked.
Did it redeem itself? For a little bit towards the end, it looked like the nuclear option had been chosen, but Westen and Glenanne avoided death and wound up together in a new place to raise Westen's nephew. The groundwork for a possible spin-off with Axe and Porter was also laid (do it, USA Network. do it).
It was a definitive end and not a happy one for everyone, but it wasn't one that Matt Nix, the show's creator should be ashamed of.

Shahid Kapoor's song reminds Raveena of Govinda

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon is in love with “Tu mere agal bagal hai” and says that the song, which features actor Shahid Kapoor, reminds her of actor Govinda’s tracks.

Raveena and Govinda acted in movies like `Dulhe Raja` (1998), `Rajaji` (1999) and `Sandwich` (2006) and they featured in hit tracks like “Kisi disco mein jaye” and “Akhiyon se goli maare”.

“OMG the song ‘Agal bagal’ from Raj K. Santoshi’s new ‘Phata Poster Nikhla Hero’ is a riot! I just love it. No song for a while has wanted to make me get up and dance! Reminds me of Chichi’s (Govinda’s) songs!,” Raveena, who won National Award for best actress for `Daman`, posted on Twitter.

She also appreciates the song as it doesn’t have any vulgar element.

“My kids love the song too. Thank god there`s nothing vulgar about it (which seems to be the trend). I have to be careful for them to play it or dance on,” said the actress.

Salman Khan defends Katrina Kaif-Ranbir Kapoor’s bikini pictures!

Ranbir-Kat both could not manage to do what Kat’s ex-boyfriend has done for this couple

Salman Khan was the perfect friend when he jumped to defend his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif’s bikini pictures with her current boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor in Ibiza. These pictures were sensational and had made the well guarded affair of Ranbir-Kat public. Sallu’s recent protective response managed to do what Ranbir’s anger and Katrina’s letter to media did not. In a recent interview, the Dabangg Khan defended his Ek Tha Tiger co-star fiercely when a reporter quizzed the star about the bikini pictures, “Aapki aisi tasveer, aapki maa ki beheno ki aisi tasveer ayegi toh aapko kaise lagega? Nahi, agar aapke boyfriend ki bhi aisi koi tasveer ajaye toh aapko bhi accha nahi lagega, toh I think jo aaapko achha nahi lagega, woh kisi aur ko bhi achha nahi lagega. Filmon me jo hota hai woh theek hai, lekin personal life ko aisa expose karna woh theek nahi hai, woh aapka adhikaar bhi nahi hai.” (If your, your mother or sister’s such pictures would be out in the media how would you feel? even if your boyfriend’s such pictures came out would you like it? If you will not like such things, others won’t like it too. What we do in films is a different matter, but exposing one’s personal life in this manner is not right, you do not have any right to do something like this.)

Sallu seemed to have followed all the buzz about his ex’s holiday pictures very closely and we weren’t surprised when Salman even commented on Kat’s letter to the media, “Ji maine padha bahut achha bahut khoobsoorti se, samajhdari se likha unhone yeh letter. Jo public appearances hai woh theek hai, jo private life personal pictures hai duniya ke saamne dikhana galat baat hai… kya boltey hai usko ghatiya baat hai.” (I read that letter and I thought she had written it down very well, made a lot of sense. The public appearances we make is fine, but bringing our private moments and personal pictures isn’t right, it is very cheap!)

While Salman was a staunch Kat supporter and guarded his ex-girlfriend’s privacy, Ranbir Kapoor had a different take, he went ahead to appreciate his ladylove’s look in a bikini, “Picture mein Katrina Kaif bahut sundar lag rahi hai, aur Ibiza bhi bahut hi sundar jagah hai pls jaaker aap visit kijiyega“(Katrina looked very beautiful in a bikini and the beach in Ibiza id beautiful too, I recommend that you visit it too).

We know how protective Sallu is about people he cares and despite all reports of Salman-Kat growing apart post the break up, we now know that Salman isn’t the most loved star in B-town for no reason. Nobody cares for his people the way this Khan does, guess nobody loves his friends the way he does and nobody ever messes with Sallu’s ladies – no, not even if it is an ‘ex’!

Is Ranbir Kapoor scared of Salman Khan?

At a recent event, RK cleared the air about using Salman’s name in his upcoming film

When Besharam trailer was out, what made to the headlines was that Ranbir Kapoor has made fun of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the trailer. Well, the young lad has tried justifying the scenes… at least one scene!

Ranbir said, “There was an article which stated that we’ve made fun of Salman Khan. That’s not true.” He added, “My father’s character in the film is called Chulbul Chautala and in one of the scenes he says ‘Babli (Ranbir’s character) chod de mujhe. Main tujhe nahi chodunga’. Reacting to this I say, ‘Sirf Chulbul naam rakhnese koi Dabangg nahi ban jaata’. So it is for the character. We aren’t trying to make fun of someone.”

Well, while this Kapoor lad has justified that the filmmakers aren’t trying to make fun of Salman Khan, we wonder why he hasn’t justified the scene which offended SRK’s fans. Looks like Ranbir is scared of only one Khan in Bollywood!

No Andaz Apna Apna sequel, confirms Raj Kumar Santoshi

Mumbai: Raj Kumar Santoshi is bewildered by reports that he is all set to make a sequel to his 1994 comedy Andaz Apna Apna, and that he’s unable to do so because the film’s producer has the rights.
He protests, “First of all, if I want to make a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna there is no hurdle in the way. The producer Vinay Sinha is a gentleman. I have a letter of consent from him to go ahead with the sequel whenever I want to.”

However Santoshi just doesn’t want to attempt a sequel to the cult comedy. “I don’t see the need to go into that subject again.

Contrary to reports, I am not working on a subject for a sequel. I don’t even have an idea for a sequel! Why would I attempt something that is for now a closed chapter for me?”

The director whose films are as far-ranging as the serious-toned Lajja to the spoofy Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani says he has many new stories to tell. “If I wanted to cash in on the long-lasting popularity of Andaz Apna Apna, I’d have done so years ago. And why only a sequel to Andaz Apna Apna? Why not Damini 2, Ghayal 2 or Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani 2? I have many new ideas and stories. I don’t need to return to a world I created long ago.”

Santoshi, however, reiterates that he is the architect of the word he created in Andaz Apna Apna. “The story idea, characters and plot were mine. Why wouldn’t I be allowed to continue the story? If I’ve built one floor in a house why can’t I build another storey?” His Phata Poster Nikla Hero releases this week.

Big banners are important, says Swara Bhaskar

New Delhi: In a short time, Swara Bhaskar has carved a niche for herself with films like `Madholal Keep Walking` and `Tanu Weds Manu`. The actress says that she enjoys doing movies that let her display her acting skills, but at the same time she admits importnace of banners for better visibility.

“It’s important to do big banner films because at the end of the day the big ones are going to get maximum audience,” Swara said.

She teamed with Yash Raj Films for `Aurangzeb` and her last release `Raanjhanaa` was made under Eros International banner. Swara considers herself lucky to do her choice of roles under established banners.

She will also act in Abbas Tyrewala’s `Mango`, which is co-produced by Multi Screen Media Private Limited in association with Kaleidoscope Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (KEPL).

“It’s a good studio, great banner, nice platform and a great part,” said Swara, who will be seen as a sweet girl like Betty from popular Archie Comics.

She said she would go for a role that would give her a better chance to emote and that she wouldn’t mind taking up a film if the part is glamorous yet performance oriented.

“Deepika’s role in ‘Cocktail’ is very glamorous, but is also a great performance role. I would go for whatever gives me scope to perform,” she said.

For Kangna, 'Revolver Rani' toughest role so far

Mumbai: From a gangster`s girlfriend to schizophrenic to spunky small town girl - actress Kangna Ranaut has portrayed a variety of characters on the screen in the past seven years, but she says her role in `Revolver Rani` is her toughest so far.

"My role in `Revolver Rani` is very difficult to portray. I think `Revolver Rani` is my toughest role so far," Kangna said.

"It`s a very unusual film, in which my looks are very different. I have to look unattractive in the film and for the first time I have to take care that I do not look beautiful," added the actress who apparently took training to use the revolver to make her role believable.

Reportedly, Tabu was approached for the role before Kangna.

Directed by Sai Kabir, the film is being co-produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia and Rahul Mittra.

The actress, who was seen in `Shootout at Wadala`, is happy with the kind of films she is doing.

She said: "It`s going to be an exciting year for me. I am doing some different roles in each film. I am extremely happy with the kind of scripts I am getting these days."

Her next will be `Krrish 3`.

'Lunchbox' producer remaking 'Chennai 600028' in Hindi

Mumbai: Vivek Rangachari, the producer of highly acclaimed `Lunchbox`, says his next will be a remake of Tamil hit `Chennai 600028`, which was about street cricket.

He has tentatively titled the Hindi version `Kirkit`, which will be made under his banner DAR Motion Pictures.

"Yes, we are remaking a Tamil film `Chennai 28` in Hindi. The film has gully cricket as the backdrop. It`s a very youth-centric film and the film is tentatively titled `Kirkit`," he said and added that the Hindi version will be made in a way that it would appeal to the audience.

Rangachari said director Bejoy Nambiar has teamed up with him to co-produce the movie.

"Bejoy is co-producing the film with us and it will be directed by Yazad, who worked as an assistant director with Bejoy in `David`," he said.

Released in 2007, `Chennai 600028`, which was written and directed by Venkat Prabhu, did great business at the southern box office.

"The film will have a bunch of newcomers. We shot a few portions during `Dahi Handi` as we needed those scenes for the film. Now, from the fourth week of September, the next schedule will start," he added.

I wish I had done more films: Shahid Kapoor

New Delhi: After completing a decade in Bollywood, actor Shahid Kapoor is happy with the way his career has shaped, but regrets not doing enough films in the past ten years.

The 32-year-old actor made his acting debut in 2003 with college drama `Ishq Vishk` and has so far starred in just 20 films.
Shahid feels he should have presented himself more often on the big screen to the audience, which in turn would have catapulted him to greater success.

"The one mistake that I made was I did very little work. I think that is not good. As an actor you need to go out there, show yourself to the audience twice or thrice a year, at least at this stage of my career.

"I am not 45. I am not at that stage where people have seen twenty years of my work. So I feel it is important to keep presenting yourself to the audience. There will be times they will like you, there will be times they will not like the film.
I have learnt over ten years that films will come and go, but people must like you. And therefore your performances must be consistent," Shahid told reporters in an interview.

Shahid`s career so far has been defined by a collection of soaring highs and dispiriting lows. He tasted success with his debut movie but could not follow it up with his next films until `Vivah` in 2006.

His other successful outings have been Imtiaz Ali`s `Jab We Met` in 2007 and Vishal Bhardwaj`s 2009 film `Kaminey`, which is arguably Shahid`s best performance till date.

"I have seen some very successful periods and some very unsuccessful periods. But I think it is most important to recognise that you need to work with the right people. You have to keep working without changing who you are and how you are," Shahid said.

The actor, who is the son of Bollywood veteran Pankaj Kapur, says because of the uncertainty in his profession, it gets difficult to take the right decision at times.

"As it is such an unpredictable field that it is all about timing. You always take decisions which can go either way. You can never know that a film will surely do well. So sometimes when the time is good the decisions turn out to be great. But when you are going through a bad phase, it goes against you," Shahid said.

The actor, who was last seen on the big screen in 2012
film `Teri Meri Kahaani`, is gearing up for the release of `Phata Poster Nikhla Hero` on September 20.

The action-comedy has been directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, who has earlier tickled the audience`s funny bone with `Andaz Apna Apna` in 1994 and Ranbir Kapoor starrer `Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani`.

Shahid plays the character called Vishwas Rao, an aspiring actor mistaken as a super cop.

"It is the first time I am doing a comic character of this kind and it is a very new genre for me. I have never really done a masala action comedy in my career or played a character which makes the hero like entry and delivers very filmy dialogues. So I was very keen to know how it will feel," he said.

The actor is all praise for his director, who he thinks has brought out the best of his comic side in the film.

"When I heard the script, I found it extremely entertaining. Rajji acted out every character from the film during the narration. I knew that I am with a director who is very clear about what he wants from me as an actor. He said this is the character to entertain the audience, so that they enjoy themselves with all the buffoonery that he does," Shahid said.

The actor, who is currently shooting Prabhudeva`s `Rambo Rajkumar` opposite Sonakshi Sinha, is reuniting with Bhardwaj again and this time for an adaption of William Shakespeare`s popular tragedy Hamlet.

The film titled `Haider` ,will be Bhardwaj`s final film in the Shakespeare trilogy after he successfully adapted Macbeth to `Maqbool` and Othello to `Omkara`.

"I feel fortunate that he has offered me another film and we will be working together again. He is a phenomenal director. He has given me the best role of my life. The role in `Haider` will be very challenging. Some very fine actors have played Hamlet in the past.

"It is a complex role and I am happy that I am doing a dark edgy, performance oriented film after `Phata Poster...` and `Rambo...`. These two are meant to entertain the audience and then I get to challenge myself as an actor in Vishal?s sir film," Shahid said.
