HOLLYWOOD UPDATES

Miley Cyrus debuts brunette hair

Los Angeles: Pop star Miley Cyrus has changed her hair colour again, leaving behind the blonde and going for a darker brunette shade.

The 20-year-old songstress has dyed her short hair and proudly showed it off while out and about in Paris recently.

She greeted her fans and took pictures with them, sticking out her tongue whenever she struck a pose for the cameras, reported Ace Showbiz.

The former Disney star emerged from her hotel in a dark blue plaid shirt, black skinny jeans, over-sized thick-rimmed sunglasses, a couple of statement necklaces, and high heels.

Cyrus has been in Europe for a while now to promote her upcoming studio album `Bangerz`. She became talks of the town in the past few days due to her jaw-dropping performance at the MTV Video Music Awards and later her naked appearance on the newly-released `Wrecking Ball` music video.

Regardless of the pros and cons, her full-throttled efforts to draw attention to her music seemed to pay off quite well.

After enjoying the success of lead single `We Can`t Stop` which peaked at Number 2 on Billboard Hot 100, she is now heading for her first Number 1 on the singles chart with `Wrecking Ball`.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley favours balanced diet

Los Angeles: Actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley prefers maintaining a balanced diet which includes plently of vegetables, smoothies and fish.

"I live in LA, where every fad diet starts and all the training techniques begin, but I have always kept my approach to health and fitness really simple," Huntington-Whiteley told Britain`s Grazia magazine.

"My approach is a lot of vegetables, smoothies and fish ... I don`t believe in fads. I believe in eating clean and balanced," the 26-year-old further added.

The actress is fond of grinding her vegetable and making it into a juice, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I do a lot of juicing, a lot of green smoothies. I put all my super foods and supplements into my juice and I have that first thing. I drink two litres of water when I wake up and try to do four litres a day," she said.

She also believes that playing sports also helps keep fit.

"My mum and my brothers are fitness instructors, so I grew up outdoors, playing sports and being active. It keeps my head screwed on. You can`t be flying around and not look after yourself and expect to keep your body running," she said.

Katherine Heigl thrilled to return to TV

Los Angeles: Katherine Heigl is all set to make her comeback on TV with untitled CIA drama.

Heigl, 34, who famously left medical drama `Grey`s Anatomy` in 2010 to focus on her family and film career, is excited about her TV return with NBC`s series, reported Us magazine.

"I am thrilled and honoured to have been asked to be a part
of developing these stories and this character and bringing it all to life. NBC has been a true partner in their passion and support for the show that we`ve dreamed of making and I could not be happier about joining forces with them. Together, with our brilliant writer Alexi Hawley, I believe we are going to make great television!," she said in a statement.

"The story is not only compelling and intelligent but a look behind the curtain at the CIA we haven`t seen before in film or television," she added.

Gay rumours were a huge compliment: Jake Gyllenhaal

London: Actor Jake Gyllenhaal, who faced rumours about his sexuality after acting in 'Brokeback Mountain', believes such stories proved he portrayed his character convincingly.

The 32-year-old actor starred alongside late Heath Ledger in the 2005 Ang Lee film about two cowboys who embark on a forbidden romance, reported Digital Spy.
"Of course it's a huge compliment! One, being gay is awesome! Two, the rumours only prove what a believable performance you gave!

"Heath and I knew each other for years before that because we had both auditioned for Moulin Rouge together. And I remember thinking, 'I like this guy. He's just like, super-lovable'," he said.

Gyllenhaal said he still misses Ledger and his passing was like "losing a family member".

Lindsay Lohan inspires Elton John

Los Angeles: Singer Elton John revealed that he wrote a song for his album `The Diving Board` keeping troubled star Lindsay Lohan in mind.

John, 66, said that the title track of his upcoming new record was inspired by the former Disney star`s rise and fall in Hollywood, reported Ace Showbiz.

"I hate to think of Lindsay because she has a talent, she was a great actress, and then it became all about the madness, the parties and everyone forgets about what put them there in the first place - they get lost in the idea that they are famous for who they are, not what they are," he said.

Lohan has recently completed a 90-day rehab stint. She was ordered to check into a rehab facility after having several run-ins with the law and admitting to using drugs.

Marking John`s first album in seven years `The Diving Board` will be available from September 24.

The full 22-minute blooper fest is one big highlight, but we're break it down to the absolute best moments anyway. Warning: there's some NSFW language. Part 2:

1:20 — Even when the cast tries to tell a bad joke, it's hilarious.

This is why we love this cast; their mistakes are better than most of our best efforts. We'll be watching the Parks and Recreation special one-hour season premiere on NBC on September 26 at 8 PM ET.

Duets From Beyond The Grave

Aaliyah (Photo by Chris Walter/WireImage)

Following the opinion-dividing news that Susan Boyle is to record a posthumous duet with Elvis Presley for her upcoming Christmas album, here's a look at five of the best collaborations between the living and the dead.

Lauryn Hill & Bob Marley  – "Turn Your Lights Down Low"

One of her last great musical contributions before her wasteful descent into tax-evading reclusiveness, the former Fugees star joined forces with the late father of her then-partner Rohan Marley for a typically chilled 1999 retooling of Exodus album track, "Turn Your Lights Down Low."
Aaliyah feat. Drake – "Enough Said"

Ignore the loathsome Chris Brown’s attempt to overshadow his rival's tribute to Aaliyah, long time Baby Girl obsessive Drake's hazy electro-R&B offering was a far more respectful use of the tragic star's goosebump-inducing vocals.

2 Pac feat. Elton John – "Ghetto Gospel"

Famous for releasing more material following his 1996 murder than before it, Tupac's back catalogue is littered with duets from beyond the grave. But continuing producer Eminem's unlikely affiliation with Elton John, it was this 2005 hook-up with the Rocket Man that proved to be one of his most emotive.

Nas feat. Amy Winehouse – "Cherry Wine"

Nas admitted he was initially reluctant about the idea of using the troubled soul diva's vocals on new material after she became the latest member of the dreaded 27 Club in 2011. But he needn't have worried as this tasteful jazz-tinged standout from Life Is Good is up there with the best of Back To Black.

Natalie Cole & Nat King Cole – "Unforgettable"

Having previously refused to cover any of her late father's classic big band standards, Natalie Cole finally relented in 1991 with an entire album dedicated to the 'King,' the highlight of which was this touching Grammy-winning virtual duet.

Liam Payne likes to defend girlfriend online

London: British singer Liam Payne defends his girlfriend, Sophia Smith, from any hurtful comments posted online.

Payne said that he does this so that she will not be hurt or offended by the comments, reports contactmusic.com.

"I do it because I worry she might read it ... In the end she`s just a girl like you who sits reading Twitter on her phone. She doesn`t deserve to sit and read all that - who does?," he posted on microblogging site Twitter.

Payne, who is a part of "One Direction", had also previously defended the followers of his group on Twitter. They were the subject to a British documentary, " Crazy About One Direction" which spoke about what their fans do to honour the group.

"Just so all of you know, we love you guys and we know how dedicated you are. We can`t believe that you guys spend all you time on us," he posted.

Daniel Radcliffe’s old crush Katy Perry leaves him speechless!

New York: ‘Harry Potter’ star Daniel Radcliffe was rendered speechless when he realised his crush Katy Perry was sitting in a room next to his at an event recently.

The 24-year-old actor had revealed in 2012 having a "massive crush" on the `Roar` hitmaker, reported the Huffington Post.

"Mentally I am very close to Katy Perry a lot. I`ve been in a room with her since and I couldn`t say (anything). I was like across a room from her and I was like, `I can`t," Radcliffe said.

"I just can`t even say anything. You`ve probably seen an interview with me. You know these thoughts are in my head. I can`t even look at you," he added.

Would love to play Gambit in 'X-Men' movie: Channing Tatum

Los Angeles:`White House Down` actor Channing Tatum says he would love to play the character of Gambit in a `X-Men` movie.

Among the many comic book characters, the 33-year-old actor said one he loves most is the Gambit, previously played by Taylor Kitsch in 2009 film `X-Men Origins: Wolverine`, reported Ace Showbiz.

"He was punk rock. He kind of rode the line," Tatum said.

The `Magic Mike` star will be voicing Lego Superman in `The Lego Movie` due next year, which will also have Will Arnett (Batman), Jonah Hill (Green Lantern), and Cobie Smulders (Wonder Woman).
Tatum`s new projects include `Foxcatcher`, `Jupiter Ascending` and `22 Jump Street`.
