It's Time We Talk About Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande, the 20-year-old pint-sized beauty with a powerhouse voice, debuted her first album, Yours Truly, at No. 1 on the sales charts. The news, as reported by Hits Daily Double, causes grownups across the nation to scratch their heads. Who the heck is this little lady and where did she come from? Luckily for the aged, teenagers have known all about Ms. Grande for a long, long time (like, three years, at least). Here's what you need to know, in a nutshell, to get all caught up:
1. Grande first appeared on the Nickeleon show Victorious — which is about a performing arts high school — in 2010 as total airhead Cat Valentine. She had red hair and an annoying baby voice.

Kanye Goes To Kazakhstan — When Musicians Meet Dictators

Despite what celebrities try to have us believe, ultimately a check is a check. That explanation much better clarifies why so many pop stars have gone over to countries in political strife to perform for notorious dictators and essentially glamorize their oppressive regimes. For the greater part of the last year, Kanye West has been in the headlines for being Mr. Kardashian, but he recently received backlash for performing at Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s grandson’s wedding. Nazarbayev’s government was accused of violating basic human rights by imprisoning social activists just last year, so the news of West receiving $3 million to perform at the wedding didn’t go over well with the public. Here are 4 other stars that have performed at questionable venues for a fat check, only to plead ignorance later on.
Beyoncé
On New Year’s Eve 2009, BeyoncĂ© was paid approximately $1 million to perform for the sons of former Libyan ruler Muammar Gadhafi, Mutassim and Hannibal. Considering this was the same Gadhafi that was overthrown and murdered by his own people less than 2 years after the fact, it’s not too surprising that the show was controversial. Gadhafi had been being called the “mad dog of the Middle East” since Reagan’s time, so there really wasn’t any excuse for not being up-to-date with the political climate in Libya. To be fair, Usher, Nelly Furtado, 50 Cent, and Mariah Carey also received large sums of cash to perform for the Gadhafi sons, and all singers allegedly donated their checks to charities. After they got busted, of course.

Jennifer Lopez
Earlier this year, Jennifer Lopez performed in Turkmenistan, a place that has the dubious honor of being named “one of the world’s most repressive countries” by the Human Rights Watch. Performing for President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov’s birthday, Lopez reportedly received $1.5 million for her efforts. Lopez also tried to play the ignorance card, but homegirl has also performed in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, 2 countries that are not too far off from the conditions in Turkmenistan. Serious question: How many "Plead Ignorance Free" cards can someone use before we can officially just call them dumb?

Sting
Sting performed at a concert put together by Uzbekistan President Islam Karimov’s daughter in 2010. This was hugely controversial, namely because the Uzbekian government has been accused of literally burning protesters alive. Sting is Sting, so it’s common knowledge that he isn’t exactly struggling for dollars, and he received a measly $1.5 million or so for his performance. Sting was one of the few celebrities who didn’t play dumb and owned up to what he did, albeit in a chop logic statement. Claiming that he was fully aware of the “appalling reputation” of the Uzbek president, he stated that he played the show anyway because “cultural boycotts are not only pointless gestures, they are counter-productive, where proscribed states are further robbed of the open commerce of ideas and art and as a result become even more closed, paranoid and insular." OK, Sting. Keep on rocking that Bullsh*t Thesaurus.

Seal & Hilary Swank
In 2011, Seal performed at Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov’s birthday bash, the same party that Hilary Swank was caught hanging at. Swank’s people had apparently told her about the human rights violations that Kadyrov had been accused of, but she ignored their warnings and not only went to the party, but talked about how awesome he was after the fact. Seal performed at the same party, and after he was questioned about his actions, he stated that he was merely “playing for the people.” If “people” means a group of elite despots that run a country full of citizens who couldn’t even afford a concert ticket, then Seal is definitely in the right.

'Diana' bosses slam radio host after Naomi Watts walks out of interview

London: The producers of Naomi Watts starrer `Diana`, which revolves around the love life of the Princess of Wales, has prohibited a radio station from talking to any of their "talent".
They also slammed the host Simon Mayo for acting "unprofessionally".
The blonde beauty had previously stormed out of the BBC radio interview after she became uncomfortable with Mayo`s questions regarding her role in the movie.
Talking about the latest feud the Entertainment One , one of the UK`s biggest movie firms, Mayo, who has interviewed the likes of Richard Curtis, Anne Hathaway and Michael Douglas, said that he was not asking any difficult questions as the film is not about Diana`s death, the Mirror reported.
Mayo asserted that he did not want to talk about Diana`s death, or the Duke of Edinburgh or even the SAS, but the actress obviously felt uncomfortable.
Mayo said that when he was asking questions, Watts turned to her publicist whispered something in her ear, got up and left.
He insisted that his company has now been told that the film company won`t let them interview any stars they have in their movies.
Mayo added that he has listened back to the tape of the interview and he could see nothing wrong with it.

Ashley Greene goes topless on film set

Los Angeles: ‘Twilight’ star Ashley Greene turned up the heat on the set of her upcoming film ‘Staten Island Summer’ as she went topless for a sunbathing scene.
Greene, 26, showed off her toned bikini body in a tiny pair of yellow bikini bottoms, opting to go topless as she soaked in the sun, reported Us magazine.

Co-stars Vincent Pastore and Graham Phillips were also spotted on set.
The film, about a few friends who decide to take on jobs as lifeguards while they figure out what to do with their lives, will be produced by `Saturday Night Live` creator Lorne Michaels.
"Being sexy is about intrigue and mystery -- not putting everything out on the table," Greene said.
Earlier this month, Greene took advantage of her temporary residence in New York, exploring the city and even attending the US open.

Simon Cowell's pals joke about breastfeeding unborn baby with his 'moobs'

London: Simon Cowell has become the source of mockery for his friends as they say that he will breastfeed his baby.
‘The X Factor’ USA judge, Paulina Rubio, joked at the launch of the show that she has heard that ‘The X Factor’ creator is going to feed his baby with his man boobs, the Daily star reported.
The 53-year-old media mogul, who is well known for showing his "hairy man boobs" on TV, sniggered at the joke.

Nicolas Cage to star in 'The Croods 2'

London: Actor Nicolas Cage is to reprise his role alongside Emma Stone and Ryan Reynolds in DreamWorks Animation follow-up `The Croods 2`.
The 49-year-old actor will join the follow-up to the caveman caper, directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco, reported Contactmusic.
"There`s not much to talk about yet because we`ve got a big lump of clay and we`re forming it as we speak. There will be lots of good creatures. We`ve got creatures that never got into the first movie. We`re going to take a very, very close look at those," Sanders said.
The animated hit is set in a prehistoric era and centres on a family who must adjust to the times as new inventions, such as fire, are created.
Cage voices the Croods` old-fashioned patriarch Grug, who is reluctant to accept the new innovations, while Stone lends her voice to Eep, Grug`s adventurous young daughter who tries to open her parents` minds and falls for the handsome and smart Guy.

Congratulations, Emily Blunt! The British actress and her husband, John Krasinski, are expecting their first child. The happy news was confirmed Wednesday and the adorable couple — who wed in 2010 in Italy — have often talked about their desire to have children. In 2012, Blunt told Manhattan magazine, "We want to have children; I just don't know when yet. I'm just not sure about the timing of all of that. We're both from big families, so I think it's something we want."
Blunt is next slated to appear as the Baker's Wife in Rob Marshall's Into the Woods, while Krasinski has just finished a long run as Jim Halpert on The Office. His next project is the upcoming film Prophet, which has a projected 2014 release date.

This 'Orange Is the New Black' Discovery Will Blow Your Mind

You know her as Crazy Eyes on Orange Is the New Black, but just like we were shocked to find out that she has very white, normal parents on the show, our minds were blown by how feminine and stylish she is in real life. Here is actress Uzo Aduba workin' that yellow dress, and her hair and makeup are equally stunning. She's almost unrecognizeable from the show, where she wears that drab, tan prison uniform with her hair in multiple mini twists. Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren is one of our favorite characters because she is a complex juxtaposition of sensitive, poetic romantic (she loves quoting Shakespeare) and intense, unpredictable madwoman (she pees in Piper's bunk when Piper rejects her). In short, Crazy Eyes is as original as they come.

'Jurassic World': Jurassic Park Sequel Gets Global New Title

Jurassic Park

Nature always finds a way, or maybe movie studios do. Jurassic Park 4, a movie that has probably been in development since the crustaceous period, is finally showing signs of progress. Universal studios has announced that the long-awaited sequel in the Jurassic Park series will be titled Jurassic World, and will be released in 3D on June 12, 2015, a summer already jam-packed with seemingly every other blockbuster film series. Colin Trevorrow, director of the Indie sci-fi dramedy Safety not Guaranteed, is set to direct his own script. Steven Speilberg is producing the film. The new title, Jurassic World,  suggests that the prehistoric terror will not be confined to one park or island, but will be more of a global threat. Will velociraptors be threatening a celluloid London, New York, and Seattle?
There hasn’t been a Jurassic Park film in over ten years, so fans are surely hungry for more dinosaur action, but what will the dinosaurs in the new film look like?  Over the past decade, the rumor mill has been spinning with all manner of crazy ideas including humanoid dinosaurs with pants and mercernary dinosaurs with guns. Hopefully the studios have settled on a design that's a little less insane and a little more classic Spielberg.
It is worrying, however, that the summer of 2015 is already crammed with big blockbuster releases from several studios. Jurassic World will be competing with Assassin’s Creed, Terminator, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman/Superman, Ant-man, and the possible release of  Star Wars: Episode 7. Will Jurassic Park stand out from the crowd, or does it stand the chance of being cannibalized?

Up in Smoke? 'The Mortal Instruments' Sequel is put on hold

Clary Fray (Lily Collins) in MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES.Screen Gems

The next big thing that wasn’t, The Mortal Instruments, was supposed to ride the train to box office glory fueled by the sheer determination of its book-reading fans. There was hope that this series would spark a Hunger Games-esque explosion at theaters but, unfortunately, long lines at Barnes and Noble don't always translate to long lines at the multiplex.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones  face-planted at the box office, only securing 9.3 million dollars in its opening weekend. Now, its proposed sequel, The Mortal Instruments: City of Ashes has almost certainly gone up in smoke. The upcoming film was put on hold indefinitely after City of Bones failed to come anywhere close to its 60 million dollar budget. Constantin Film, the studio behind the series, stated that "it will be beneficial to have more time to reposition the film in the current marketplace." The studio would need to greatly scale back the production budget for the sequel to make viable economic sense but it's more likely that the film will never see the light of day.
Bringing a YA book series to film is a tricky maneuver. You never know what series will light up the box office and which ones will fizzle their way out of theaters and people's memories. For every Hunger Games or Twilight, there is an I am Number Four, or Beautiful Creatures, a new series that underperforms and sends film studios back into the YA section of the bookstore to scrounge for their next big franchise. If you count yourself as one of the few that enjoyed the first cinematic adventure in The Mortal Intstruments series and you want to know what happens next, you might want to do some bookstore scrounging yourself. It's doubtful the series will see any sequels in the near future.

Is Anyone Else On Earth Watching NBC's 'Camp'?

Camp

NBC’s summer drama Camp has been doing well in the ratings, routinely pulling down 3.5 million viewers. Yet the chatter around the show certainly isn’t setting Twitter on fire. Unlike Shonda Rhimes’ political sudser Scandal, which gained viewers thanks to social media word-of-mouth, Camp seems to be popular despite social media indifference.
You’ll probably never see Camp trending on Twitter; in fact there seems to be an Internet wall of silence around watching the show.
I’m going out on a limb and assuming I’m not the only person in the world watching Camp, unless this is an Orphan Black situation and there are another 3.5 million of me I’m not aware of. So why is the social media and critical chatter so demure when it comes to NBC’s summer dramedy?
The show, set in a fictional “family camp” called Little Otter, features a cast headlined by Six Feet Under’s Rachel Griffiths. You might be asking yourself, “What is a family camp? It it like a bootcamp where you take trouble children and have drill sergeants scream at them? Is this a tough love thing?” The answer is no, although some version of this idea is being pitched right now at the TLC network, somehow involving Honey Boo Boo Child.
Camp does not endeavor to answer basic questions like the difference between a family camp and a regular camp. The show doesn’t even answer questions like how professional adults seemingly get off from work all summer to drink wine and complain about their children.
Having read this description, you might be wondering why anyone would watch Camp. But the truth is, although the show isn’t reinventing the wheel, it is an hour of solid fun every week. The campground shenanigans are usually worth a chuckle and the characters have become more dimensionalized and endearing as the show plugs along.
Splitting time between the young, attractive teen camp counselors and the older generation keeping Little Otter afloat allows the show to juggle a wide variety of storylines. While Griffiths’ camp director Mack tries to bounce back from her divorce with a complicated love triangle, the kids have their own relationship problems to deal with.
Tom Green’s Kip gets a girlfriend who thinks his brush with leukemia makes him dark and dangerous, while power couple Robbie (Tim Pocock) and Sarah (Dena Kaplan) fall out over infidelity. And this doesn’t even touch the walking sex comedy cliche that is Mack’s son Buzz (Charles Grounds), desperate to lose his virginity at any cost. It’s this mix of more emotionally grounded storytelling with -- dare I pun-- a fair amount of campy ridiculousness that makes the show a fun summer diversion.
It’s too soon to tell if NBC will renew the show for a second season, but I certainly hope they do. Even if I’m the only one willing to admit watching.

The Craziest Music Feuds

Lady Gaga and Madonna Dance Fight on SNL

Music feuds have been going on since the beginning of music itself. It wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to assume that Beethoven and Weber side-eyed each other constantly and Bach and Handel might've wanted to throw down, while Chopin thought all those fools were amateurs. One thing that’s for sure is that in an industry made up of huge talent and even huger egos, personalities are bound to clash, and the result is a global high school where the popular kids love to publicly ream each other out. While some egos don’t ever play well with others and are constantly fighting 10 people at a time (i.e. Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj), other celebs manage to put the blast behind them and actually grow up. Here are some super memorable and/or surprising music feuds that had us reaching for the popcorn.
Madonna vs Lady Gaga
It’s no secret that the Lady Gaga machine is derived from just about every eccentric and original artist in the pop and art world, but Madonna was her foremost adversary. It’s not that Madonna is completely original herself, but what makes her stand out from other pop stars that copy her is that she always had a reason behind everything that she did and articulated those reasons well. Madonna is at her best when she’s throwing shade, and shade did she throw at her 2012 MDNA tour. While performing “Express Yourself,” Madonna made clear what everyone was thinking and melded Gaga’s “Born This Way” into her song, making the obvious similarities even more blatant. Dumping another 5 pounds of salt into Gaga’s wound, Madonna commented on “Born This Way” by stating, “What a wonderful way to redo my song.” Oh, Madonna – condescension is thy name.
Oasis vs Blur
Oasis’ Gallagher brothers are 2 of the most outspoken (and, let’s face it, hilarious) celebrities in music. In the mid-90s, Oasis and Blur were at the top of their game, so it’s no surprise that some beef got cooked between the 2 bands. The upper-class, mod-ish Blur released “Country House” in 1995, only to have it go head-to-head with “Roll With It” by the ever-drunk, rowdy Oasis. Perpetuating the feud, Noel Gallagher famously stated that he wished Blur singer Damon Albarn and bassist Alex James would “get AIDS and die.” Though the feud cooled off as the years went by, the crowning, happy-ending moment of rock-stars-all-growed-up came earlier this year, when Gallgher got Albarn and Blur guitarist Graham Coxon to join him onstage at a charity show at London’s Royal Albert Hall, which is basically the equivalent of peace in the Middle East in the Britpop world.
Tupac vs Biggie
While this music feud didn’t exactly have us reaching for the confections, it’s probably the most notorious (no pun intended) feud in music’s history, namely because both dudes got murdered.  In the mid-90s, gangsta rap was at its peak, and after the 1994 robbery and shooting of Tupac (which Tupac blamed Biggie for), the rap game changed for good. Tupac’s once optimistic and socially-conscious style turned into a darker, more bitter image, rife with themes of violence and revenge. Tupac was eventually slain in September 1996 in Las Vegas, and Biggie was murdered less than a year later in a drive-by shooting. And yes, both murders are still unsolved.
Kid Rock vs Tommy Lee
Ahhhh… middle-aged trashy drama. Kid Rock and Tommy Lee have so much in common that it would seem as though they’d be best friends. Instead, they ended up going at each other’s throats, all for the delicate flower that is Pamela Anderson. Kid Rock started dating Lee’s ex-wife in 2001 and though Anderson became Rock’s ex-wife as well shortly after, the tension between Rock and Lee didn’t die down. Conflicts boiled over at the 2007 MTV VMAS, with Rock apparently hearing Lee talk smack about him to P. Diddy. Rock walked over to Lee and slapped him, initiating a rocker brawl for the ages. Lee responded to the incident on his website, calling Rock “Kid Pebbles” and a “no career havin' country bumpkin.” Apparently, the 2 rockers are friends now. But will somebody think about Pamela?!
Eminem vs Mariah Carey
This feud was surprising mostly because it was so unbelievably random. Apparently, the 2 megastars had hooked up to discuss songwriting for Carey’s 2001 album Charmbracelet, and although nothing came out of it musically, reports began to surface that the 2 were dating. For the next 8 years, the 2 kept exchanging barbs at each other, some subtle, some not-so-subtle. Eminem mentions Carey in at least 5 songs, while Carey kept quiet for the most part until 2009’s “Obsessed.” The weird thing is that Eminem seems to be pissed that Carey won’t acknowledge that they had a relationship, since she’s constantly acting as though they barely even hung out. Seriously, dude? You’re the best-selling rapper in the world and it's been over 10 years – get over it.
Dave Grohl vs Courtney Love
Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and everyone’s favorite hot mess Courtney Love have never exactly been best friends, but sh*t got real in the last few years, with Love making a slew of allegations against Grohl. Since Kurt Cobain’s suicide in 1994, the two rockers have been fighting over Nirvana royalties and the use of Cobain’s image, but by 2012, Love had alleged that Grohl stole her money, was hated by Cobain, had a “gay” band, and had hit on Cobain and Love’s daughter. For the most part, Grohl took the high road (at least in public) and decided he’d rather tear her a new one through his songs. Just for the entertainment factor of Love’s psycho ramblings and the kickass music Grohl comes up with when he’s dissing her, this is one music feud that's genuinely entertaining.
Axl Rose vs The World Axl Rose basically hates everyone and we could make a list of his own top 10 feuds. He’s beefed with everyone from the Offspring, Motley Crue, Metallica, Nirvana, Slash, his own band, and even Tommy Hilfiger. And all of that doesn’t even take into account how many riots have been started because Rose couldn’t be bothered to finish (or start) his live sets and walked off stage instead. Rose solidified his douchiness in 2012 when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Releasing an open letter for Guns N’ Roses fans, the hall and “To Whom It May Concern,” Rose stated that there was no way in hell that he was going to come down for a band reunion and he doesn’t care what anyone has to say about that. According to him, “there isn’t room to consider a conversation let alone a reunion.” Ouch. But way to flip off the world!

On the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 11, Prince Harry took part in a trade for the BGC Partners Charity Day at Canary Wharf in London — an event in memory of those who died during the attacks on the World Trade Center 12 years ago. Harry, realizing the gravitas associated with such an event, made the above face.
Way to go, Harry.
Now that we know that Harry is capable of finding the most appropriate, tactful reaction to any significant phone call that may come his way, we thought we'd test him out with the most heart-wrenching telephonic moments from pop culture — in GIFs, of course.
When Rick Grimes discovered he was talking to his dead wife, Harry was all:

Are You There, Fans? It’s Me, Azealia.

Azealia Banks performs on day 1 at Leeds Festival 2013 Featuring: Azealia Banks Where: Leeds, United Kingdom When: 23 Aug 2013 Credit: WENN.com

Azealia Banks has gone and released a scrawled tracklist on Twitter, aka her dedicated combat zone. Perhaps a sign that her elusive debut album might be approaching the physical realm at a slightly less glacial pace?
It’s probably a coincidence that, with an album to promote, she’s got her teeth into some high-profile subjects lately: namely President Obama and, er, Syria.
Banks has been getting political, in between observations on Chinese food and mermaids. Highlights include: “Should the U.S. have invaded Syria earlier?: yes, but it's too late to dwell on that now and SOMETHING, has to be done” and “OBAMA NOOOOOO”.
True, her ratchet antics and beefs with topical celebrities, from Kreayshawn to Lady Gaga, have kept her on the radar. But has her constant online brawling been a risky strategy? She recently tweeted, “Azealia Banks is here. For good. Forever.”
Well, we went ahead and ran the numbers. Yep, the last Azealia Banks fan is on the fence about Syria...and he just got into Angel Haze.

Katrina Kaif attends Ganpati visarjan organised by Salman Khan

Zee Media Bureau/ Gayatri Sankar
Mumbai: The big fat Khan family of Bollywood headed by Salim Khan, father of superstar Salman Khan, has been organising Ganesh Puja during the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi for over 11 years now.
The Pooja usually takes place at Khan’s Bandra residence- Galaxy Apartments- but as the house was under renovation this year, Khan chose his daughter Alvira’s residence for celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. Alvira is married to producer-director Atul Agnihotri.

The Ganesh visarjan was held on Tuesday and was attended by many guests including Salman’s former ladyloves Sangeeta Bijlani and Katrina Kaif.
Sangeeta has been a regular feature at the dos organised by the Khan family. But Katrina’s presence was surprising as she was spotted with the family after a long gap. The British beauty had maintained a distance from the Khan family ever since rumours of her alleged relationship with Ranbir Kapoor made headlines.
Anyway, it was indeed good to see Salman’s near and dear ones join in the celebrations.

A hat-trick for Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone?

Mumbai: Ever since her dream debut opposite industry heavyweight Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan’s super-hit ‘Om Shanti Om’, Deepika Padukone has become one of the most sought-after actresses in Tinsel Town.
The dimpled Bangalorean hottie delivered a number of films this year but the film that stole the show is ‘Chennai Express’. The Rohit Shetty masala entertainer alongside King Khan has become a mega blockbuster film.
Directed by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, ‘Chennai Express’ broke several records. Almost all of Shetty’s films, be it the ‘Golmaal’ series or ‘Bol Bachchan’, have minted money at the Box Office. And ‘Chennai Express’ featuring SRK is no different.
The actors SRK and Deepika are still basking in the success of their Eid release. But the duo has already started preparing for their next titled ‘Happy New Year’. The film in question will be directed by Farah Khan.
So the question is, will the SRK-Deepika jodi score a hat-trick with ‘Happy New Year’?

Shooting in real village for 'Gori Tere...' excited Kareena

Mumbai: The chance to shoot in a real village for the first time in her career is what attracted actress Kareena Kapoor to her next film, `Gori Tere Pyaar Mein`.
"What excited me most was that we were going to be shooting in a village. I don`t think I have ever done a film where I actually go to a village. So that part excited me a lot," the 32-year-old said here Tuesday at the first look launch of the film.
This is the second time that Kareena has been paired with Imran Khan. They were earlier seen in the 2012 romantic-comedy `Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu`.
The actress has donned cotton and bandhini clothes in the `Gori Tere Pyaar Mein`. Her look has been designed by Manish Malhotra.
Directed by Punit Malhotra, `Gori Tere Pyaar Mein` is slated to release Nov 22.

Hrithik Roshan's wife Sussane Roshan moves in with her parents

The real reason why the star wife has moved into Sanjay and Zarine Khan`s bungalow in Juhu.
A week ago, Hrithik Roshan’s wife Sussanne moved into her parents Sanjay and Zarine Khan’s Juhu home, which is a stone’s throw away from her own home where she lives with her husband, her kids and in-laws. It is rumoured that the star wife and her husband are having problems.
Says a source close to the family, “Yes, Sussanne is living at her parents’ place since the past week. But there is no problem between her and Hrithik. Her father is really unwell and she is staying there to spend time with him. The Khans do not want unnecessary attention over his illness and have asked their close friends to respect their privacy.”
What fuelled the rumours of trouble in paradise is that last week for Rakesh Roshan’s birthday bash, Sussanne came with her mother and siblings and left with them. The insider reveals, “She came with them because she is living with them and it was more practical. If there was anything to hide, you think she would have been so open about it? Also, she left early because she was flying to Paris that night. In fact, she is still in Paris and is expected to return tomorrow.”
When asked if Sussanne will head to her own home or parents’ home after her return from Paris, the source said, “She might go anywhere... that is not even the issue. She has stayed at her parents’ home in the past as well. Even at that time there were rumours about trouble in their marriage. But they are still together, which should tell you how strong their marriage is. Rumours will always be there in an actors’ life but I can tell you that Hrithik and Sussanne are one couple who will always be together.”

‘The Lunchbox’, ‘The Ship of Theseus’ top the list of critics' favourite film as India's Oscar Entry

Raja Sen: Ritesh Batra’s ‘The Lunchbox’ is a remarkable film. A touching story of tiffins and timing, and of life and its lovely ironies. Wonderfully acted and written with restraint, it is by far the best Indian film this year. It will appeal to art house audiences everywhere.
Rajeev Masand: I think it should be ‘The Lunchbox’ because it is such an intrinsically Indian story, and yet has such a universal appeal. Also because it is exquisitely written directed and performed. Such an incredibly moving film!”
Mayank Shekhar: Haven’t seen a film more artistic engaging introspective and ‘Indian’ than Anand Gandhi’s ‘The Ship Of Theseu’s. Absolutely qualifies as World Cinema. The Film Federation may have to work around the fact that the movie is for a large part in English . If I am not mistaken the Academy accepts entries only in local languages of the country for the Foreign Films category.
Pritish Nandy: ‘The Lunchbox’, undoubtedly. The word is awaiting for it.
Aseem Chhabra: Looking at how people at the Telluride and Toronto film festivals have reacted to ‘The Lunchbox’, I think that film has a good chance of being nominated for the Oscars. It has all the right elements that would make it appeal to the Academy. I don’t have a crystal ball, and there many other good Indian films in 2013.But I think India’s chances appear stronger with ‘The Lunchbox’.
Karan Anshuman: I suppose our Oscar entry should be ‘The Lunchbox’. It has got all the right elements in place that the Academy looks for. It features an internationally recogniseable star Irrfan, and a good balance between Indie and commercial elements. ‘The Ship Of Theseus’ is too Indie. The other films are too commercial. ‘The Lunchbox’ makes no compromises. It has topnotch cinematography and production values, and a singular theme.

Priyanka Chopra’s loss is Shraddha Kapoor’s gain!

Going by the latest goss, it seems the Aashiqui 2 babe has bagged Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Milan Talkies
Earlier, there were talks about Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor coming together once again onscreen with Milan Talkies. But now we hear director Tigmanshu Dhulia has roped in Shraddha Kapoor opposite Sasha as he wanted to cast a fresh pair in his film. Imran Khan and PC were the original choice for the film considering the two have never worked together. But after the Delhi Belly actor left the project, Shahid was brought aboard. The makers had no other option but to replace the Exotic babe since she has already worked with the Kapoor lad in Kaminey and Teri Meri Kahaani. On the other hand, rumours are rife that the Desi girl walked out of Milan Talkies citing date issues.
Just few days back it was reported that Shraddha would pair up with Shahid for Vishal Bhardwaj’s desi version of Hamlet. With Aashiqui 2’s success, luck has finally struck for this B-town babe, wethinks!

Akshay Kumar's birthday gift- 'Boss' number plate

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, who turned 46 earlier this week, received a ‘Boss’ number plate on his birthday.
One of his fans gifted him a number plate with the numbers `8055` on it.
Currently shooting for the action thriller in Bangkok, the actor, who celebrated his birthday Monday, was touched by the gesture.
"One of Akshay’s craziest fans gifted him a `Boss` number plate on his birthday. Akshay has been shooting in Bangkok, so the fan had to drop it at the gate of his residence. This number plate was later couriered to Akshay in Bangkok. He was pleasantly surprised and fondly accepted it. He later asked us to find out who the fan was and wants to meet him personally," said a member of the production team of the film.
Set to release on Oct 16, ‘Boss’ also features Shiv Pandit, Aditi Rao Hydari, Danny Denzongpa, Ronit Roy and Johnny Lever.
