Hollywood & Bollywood Updates 26th September 2013

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were one of Young Hollywood's power couples, and after four tumultuous years, they've finally called it quits for good. Don't hold your breath for another reconciliation this time, since Liam seems to have already moved on. From a meeting that was literally out of a Nicholas Sparks novel to the haircut that changed everything and the twerk that was the final nail in the coffin. we're taking a look back at all the ups and downs in the Miley and Liam saga with this handy timeline.
June 2009: Miley and Liam film The Last Song, which is the setting for their first kiss. Unless you're already married or have no soul, it's apparently impossible not to fall in love on the set of a Nicholas Sparks movie.
September 2009: The two are caught in the middle of said kiss and confirm that they are dating.
March 2010: The couple make their red carpet debut at the premiere for The Last Song. She is clearly excited to show him off to the world.
August 2010: Miley and Liam split for the first time. And so the roller coaster begins.
September 2010: They make up and start dating again.
November 2010: Kaput again! The world feels yanked around. The tabloids are happy.
April 2011: They're a couple once again. Could they be in it for the long haul this time? For a while the answered seemed to be yes because they're able to avoid drama for a year, and then...
May 2012: They're engaged! Things are looking really promising now, until...
August 2012: Miley cuts off all her hair, and the downward spiral begins.
December 2012: The couple are still going strong, as they're seen on a romantic vacation in Costa Rica.
January 2013: Rumors of another breakup start circulating after Miley is seen without her engagement ring. The couple will not be photographed together for the next five months, during which Miley starts to twerk more and wear clothes less.
June 2013: The couple are finally photographed together on a date night. Will this finally put all the breakup rumors to rest?
August 2013: Miley supports Liam at his Paranoia premiere, and they still look like a happy couple. But don't get too excited.
August 2013: Miley gives her infamous twerking performance at the MTV VMAs. It may have been the performance of her life, but it spelled death for her and Liam. He is reportedly "shocked" and "embarrassed" by her performance, and it doesn't look like the couple will be able to recover.
September 2013: And so it ends. The couple officially confirm that they called off their engagement, and Liam is caught kissing Mexican singer Eiza Gonzalez the very next day. Miley even unfollows Liam on Twitter, so you know they must be over for good.

Cate Blanchett is, without a doubt, one of the great actors of our time. She's been delivering powerful performances for the past 20 years, with her roles in films like The Aviator, Elizabeth, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button just a few on a long list of great works. We were so excited to learn that the amazing Aussie talent is getting ready to go behind the camera, as she'll be making her directorial debut with an adaptation of the bestselling novel The Dinner. Here are a few reasons we're expecting very big things from this project.

Earlier this year Jennifer Lawrence took home the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Tiffany in the critically-acclaimed film Silver Linings Playbook. She is now the second-youngest Best Actress winner and the youngest person to ever receive two Oscar nominations for Best Actress. Suffice it to say, she’s doing just fine and really doesn’t need our help. In her next few films we’ll see her re-teaming with her Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell, and of course the rest of The Hunger Games films are headed our way. But if J-Law wants to take her career to a whole ‘nother level, we can think of a few directors who might be able to make that happen.
Derek Cianfrance (The Place Beyond The Pines, Blue Valentine)
Okay first of all, a movie with Cianfrance almost automatically means a movie with Ryan Gosling. Can you imagine the scenes d’amour in this one? Exactly. Lawrence’s role in Winter’s Bone showed critics and audiences that she can do gritty, and she can do indie. We’d love to see her get back to some of that—but with a little bit of romantic intensity – by teaming up with Cianfrance. Plus, again, it's important to stress: that Gosling/Lawrence love scene would be all kinds of insane.
Sofia Coppola (The Bling Ring, Lost In Translation, Marie Antoinette)
In the upcoming period piece Serena, Lawrence will work with award-winning director Susanna Bier. We’d like to see her team up with more women behind the camera, and we think Sofia Coppola could really cook up a great role for her. Actresses like Scarlett Johansson, Kirsten Dunst, and Emma Watson have benefited greatly from being in her films, and we can easily see Lawrence transforming into one of her fascinating characters.
Lee Daniels (The Butler, Precious)
Okay, even we’re a little scared about this mash-up. In fact, we respectfully request that Jennifer Lawrence not make any movies with Lee Daniels for at least another five to seven years. Daniels is no joke — his films are often beyond gritty, beyond intense, and most of us still feel like we should go hide in a corner and peek through our fingers during the majority of his sex scenes. But he’s definitely the go-to guy if you want to do a film that makes you pretty much unrecognizable as an actress. Folks like Halle Berry, Mo’Nique, Nicole Kidman, and Zac Efron have him to thank for certain big moments in their careers. If Lawrence ever gets tired of looking like America’s sweetheart, this would be the route to go.

Tina Fey suffered wardrobe malfunction at Emmys

Los Angeles: Actress-writer Tina Fey suffered malfunction when she went to accept her award for best writing for a comedy series at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards here.
Fey along with Tracey Wigfield received the award for the show "30 Rock", but before she went to give her acceptance speech her loose dress ended up exposing her breast, reports hollywoodlife.com.
The 43-year-old was dressed in a cobalt blue Narcisco Rodriguez halter gown. The flowing gown showed off her curves.

Victoria Beckham partners with Skype to tell fashion journey

London: Victoria Beckham has teamed up with web video chat service Skype to tell her fashion journey in a new format.
The designer will allow fans a brand new insight into her creative process via the web video chat service and give audiences the opportunity to engage directly with her and her design team, reported Contactmusic.
A launch has been confirmed for this Autumn and the company said they are thrilled about their new partnership.
The company post read, "In just five short years, Victoria Beckham and her team have built a hugely successful international fashion brand. A journey which Skype is proud to have played a part in enabling.
"Skype will bring the story of a driven designer and businesswoman to life in a groundbreaking storytelling format, as well as offer inspiration to fashion enthusiasts, aspiring creatives and entrepreneurs. We`re thrilled to be a part of the Victoria Beckham story, and look forward to sharing it with you soon."
This is the first move into fashion by Skype and the new venture comes after Victoria revealed she often uses its video services to conduct importance conference calls.

For urban creatures of the night — I'm referring here to Eighties club kids — The Hunger was the be-all and end-all. It so captured the sexuality of the post-punk zeitgeist, it put director Tony Scott on the map. But there's another flick for vamp majors obsessed with a complete education, from another director you may have heard of, Kathryn Bigelow.
The characters of Near Dark are the poor relations of Scott's upper-class predators. But they have something The Hunger completely passes over: American-outlaw-blue-collar hotness. The film quietly seethes with a swagger that can only be described as Western. It is wild, unkempt, brutal and appealing, an intergenerational drawing match over sex and supremacy. It is sexy, down to the bone, pure Cowboy Punk.
Jenny Wright and Adrian Pasdar play out an undead Romeo and Juliet story so scorching you won't know where to look first. She's lonely, she turns him, but her posse is pissed. They reluctantly take in the small town boy, and careen through the desert in an RV with blackened windows, part man cave, part coffin, on a sociopathic Kerouac road trip.
You can certainly rent it. But I suggest a permanent download.

New UK to feature couples having sex in a box

Wellington: A new television show is all set to feature couples having sex in a sound-proof, opaque box in a studio, complete with an audience.

In the show, `sex box`, intended to `reclaim sex from pornography`, the couples will be quizzed on their sex lives by a panel of experts after they emerge from the box, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Host Mariella Frostrup , 50, told a UK publication that she hoped the show would spark a "mature, intelligent discussion about sex in Britain today".
She said that the sex we see on screen, in magazines and increasingly online bears little relation to the real experiences of real people, but this will be a frank conversation about an essential element in all our lives.
The panel of experts will include relationship adviser Tracey Cox, sex columnist Dan Savage and author Phillip Hodson.

Kim Kardashian to do voice-over for 'American Dad'

Los Angeles: Socialite Kim Kardashian will give her voice for the US adult animated sitcom `American Dad`.
The 32-year-old will make a guest appearance on the show, reports aceshowbiz.com.
Kim will lend her voice to a furry alien whose spaceship crash lands in Langley Falls, a fictional community where the Smith Family resides.
The episode is expected to air in the 10th season of `American Dad`.

Drake teams up with Beyonce

Los Angeles: Rapper Drake has revealed that he has collaborated with pop star Beyonce Knowles for her forthcoming album.

"I reached out to her and asked if I could come and be a part of her project and she was kind enough to invite me out there. And we did some work together," aceshowbiz.com quoted Drake as saying.

The rapper then went on praising the "Single ladies" singer.

"I believe strongly in her talent and her position in our generation. I think she`s one of the biggest stars

It seems like lately there's been more Miley Cyrus antics to report every day. This time, Cyrus kept her clothes on for a change, and instead celebrated her first Rolling Stone cover the old fashioned way. How? By getting a tattoo, of course! The singer got the name of the magazine tatooed on the bottom of her feet, and revealed the ink via her Instagram account, with the caption "#rattatattat @RollingStone".
However, we can't help but wonder why the singer chose this particular location for her latest tatoo - after all, won't the ink get worn away after one too many nights of dancing? Also, does anyone else think that her decision to replace the "s" in "Stone" with a dollar sign is some sort of shout out to fellow pop star Ke$ha?

Coming off of last week's Season 3 premiere of New Girl, which finally put to rest the will-they-won't-they of Jess and Nick's sexual tensioned filled relationship (they're officially together, everyone), Tuesday's "Nerd" episode got back to the usual sticky situations that those loft friends so often get themselves into.
Plots: Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) figuratively time warp back to high school and have to figure out how to fit in with the "cool kids" that are Jess' new teacher colleagues, Schmidt (Max Greenfield) still has to decide if he wants to be with Elizabeth (Merritt Wever — congrats on your Emmy) or CeCe (Hannah Simone), and Winston (Lamorne Morris) vies for the heart of his lovely Daisy (Brenda Song).
Once a Nerd, Always a NerdIn the A-plot of "Nerds," Jess frets that she's not fitting in with her fellow teachers at her new job (side note: when did Jess get a new job?). Nick, being the kind-hearted but misguided person that he is, offers to help Jess mingle with the hip teachers that she so desperately wants to be friends with. The "cool" teachers, who definitely would have been the popular and mean kids in high school, pick on Jess until Nick pulls out a few tricks (offering them school supplies and endless free booze) to buy their friendship. Unfortunately, Jess ends up trying too hard to impress them (she stands in a toilet and sings for them and then breaks into her boss' backyard while they ditch her), but good ol' Nick Miller comes to the rescue. He lets Jess know that he would have noticed her in high school (d'aww), and then they get it on in the teachers' lounge.
This plot was actually pretty endearing. Yes, it was incredibly painful and awkward to watch Jess be bullied by the mean crew, but her "old man" (the name that Nick wants her to call him) was there to save the day. He may have a habit of messing everything up, but he cares enough about Jess to realize when he's being a total dud and needs to clean up his mess.
Ladies' ManMeanwhile, Schmidt tries to balance his two relationships since he still hasn't broken up with one of them. In the classic two-date situation, Schmidt must figure out a way to keep CeCe and Elizabeth away from each other at a work party. His Schmidt-hating coworker keeps on trying to ruin things for him (she's jealous of his new office), but somehow he pulls off the whole scheme. Elizabeth walks off believing that CeCe is catering the event, and CeCe thinks that Elizabeth works at the company. Ladies, you're not as smart as I thought you were. Well, I take that back — Elizabeth, you're not as smart as I thought you were.
Oh, Schmidt, you poor idiot — decide between Elizabeth and CeCe already! Everyone knows how this situation is going to turn out: Schmidt finally gets caught and then both of the ladies dump him (and probably cause him physical harm). Either that or they all turn to polygamy (hey, it could happen).
Cat LadyThe third plot of this episode involves Winston pet-sitting Daisy's cat Ferguson (because of course that would be the cat's name). Thinking that Daisy wants to take things further since she's trusting him with her cat, Winston adorably asks Daisy to be his girlfriend. Daisy says yes, but it's apparent that there's an unknown man in her shower (in other words, she's sleeping with someone else). To get back at Daisy, Winston feebly attempts to kill her cat, but comes to terms with being a person with a soul and decides to let Ferguson live. When Daisy comes to pick up Ferguson, Winston officially dumps her and refuses to let her keep the cat (because both him and Ferguson "deserve better").
Does anyone else remember when Winston used to be the too-cool-for-school archetype in New Girl? When did he become the guy who's ferociously bad at pranks, wears a sweatshirt as pants, and spends a whole episode trying to kill a cat? Whenever it happened, it looks like the writers aren't turning back now. They've found Winston's niche and they're sticking with it, just like they have with all of the other main characters: Jess is eccentric, Nick is a bumbling fool with (mostly) good intentions, Schmidt is neurotic, and Winston, well, Winston isn't quite right in the head. God bless them all.

- The fact that two of the mean teachers are Angela Kinsey (Angela from The Office) and Dreama Walker (June from Don't Trust the B— in Apartment 23) and that they take liquid ecstasy.
- "Leave it to me to fix it." - Nick to Jess (I've never felt more scared for Jess' life).
- Nick thinks half of a ripped dollar equals 50 cents.
- "My heart is a two-man bike and I want you in the rear." - Winston's ideal way to ask Daisy to be his girlfriend
- The boys sing/shout "I Believe I Can Fly" to wake up hungover Jess.
- "Now I'm no plumber, but I'm 99 percent sure there was a guy in her shower." - Winston to Nick
- The ways Winston tries to kill the cat: strangle it with a rope, whack it with a bat, bludgeon it with a shovel, beat it with a hammer, and smother it with a pillow.
- The fact that Elizabeth might be more sexually adventurous than Schmidt (she's down for all sorts of fantasy situations).

Facebook stalking is a time-honored tradition designed to make us feel better about ourselves and research blind dates before we actually have to spend time getting to know them. Everyone's done it, even if they don't want to admit that they have. It makes sense, then, that Hollywood would eventually pick up on such a popular habit, and use it as the key plot device in a romantic comedy. That's right: there is actually going to be a movie about Facebook stalking.
A Case of You centers around Sam (Justin Long, who is also a co-writer and co-producer), a shy, awkward writer who strikes up a conversation with a pretty barista named Birdie (Evan Rachel Wood) and then proceeds to woo her using the information on her Facebook profile to turn himself into the perfect man. Somewhere between being a terrible rock climber and posing as a guitar player, Sam's scheme works and Birdie falls in love with him. Only, he now has to deal with the moral dilemma of making the girl of his dreams fall in love with a false version of himself. Oh, and Peter Dinklage is there, stealing the trailer with blonde highlights and an impossible-to-pronounce name.

Based on the trailer, A Case of You will either raise some interesting questions about dating in the Internet age, or, more likely, it will be another sappy, quirky rom com about allowing love to bring happiness and meaning into your life. Unfortunately for Wood, who is an extremely talented actress, the character of Birdie appears to be yet another Manic Pixie Dream Girl, as we can tell from her unusal name to the unflattering striped blazer she wears with a bowler hat. Although, the writers do get some credit for not going overboard on the twee-factor and having her learn the banjo or didgeridoo. It's a shame — the concept behind the film is interesting, and we'd love to see a film which didn't bury it underneath so much quirk.
A Case of You will be released in theaters, on iTunes and On Demand on November 6.

You can envy her, but Gevinson’s success in the blogging world and her eventual twitter fame and opportunity to gallivant with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars didn’t drop into her lap one night.   For the better part of three years Gevinson worked on her fashion blog Style Rookie, started when she was a pre-teen. As she grew older and was faced with those issues everyone experiences when beginning high school and maturing as teenagers, she couldn’t find a website that truly catered to the actual, real lives of people her age.
“I felt like there wasn’t a magazine or website for teenagers that spoke to me or had the kind of stuff I’d be interested in reading, and I knew I couldn’t be the only one,” she said.
Topics covered on rookie.com include anything from sex, religion and feminism, to body image and bullying.
“These things were becoming relevant in the lives of the people around me, my friends and other girls,” Gevinson says.
The online zine has grown from 30-40 writers to about 80 currently and for Gevinson, the route to a print publication, Rookie Yearbook, was a natural one.
“There were certain fashion magazines that I collected every issue for years, so I think just a selfish part of me wanted that,” she said. “I also think that we attract the kind of readers who appreciate that — who like being crafty and really give a lot of value to their favorite movies and books.”
But like rookie.com, the Yearbook is very much about the writing.
“There were just so many pieces on the site that I felt ‘these can’t just exist in pixels, and float around cyberspace,’ they needed to be documented in this more tangible way.”
Rookie Yearbook One, which came out last September, was the first in what Gevinson hopes will be a four-part series. Her knowledge from the initial publishing experience has helped her and her team this time around, allowing her to take a more hands-on part of the process. Also differing from the first, the second edition will be a bit more gender-neutral both in design and content.
And, although rookie.com is aimed towards teenage girls, that doesn’t stop some guys from taking a peek at it every once in a while.
“I’ve been very happy to get a number of emails from guys being like, ‘I never understood why girls felt that way or felt offended by that and now I do’,” said Gevinson. “Some guys are like, ‘I like this even though I’m a guy and I relate to it’...because ultimately we’re all people.”
Even if she could use a little more sleep some days, Gevinson’s drive is fueled by her readers.
 “Girls will say ‘this helped me when I was feeling suicidally depressed’ or a few girls have said ‘that one article your writer penned has helped me get over an eating disorder or convinced me to get help’...that’s the most you can hope for with something like this. That’s really the most gratifying part,” she says.
When the going gets tough for Gevinson, like it does for all high schoolers, she reflects back on TV star Rashida Jones' words from one Rookie interview: “it doesn’t get better, but you get better.”
“You never get to a point when things are totally fine and you have to let yourself mess up,” she says.

Salman's hit-and-run case: Court rejects activist's plea

Mumbai: A sessions court today rejected the plea of a social activist seeking to intervene in the 2002 hit-and-run case allegedly involving actor Salman Khan to help the prosecution in the trial.
Judge S D Deshpande ruled that only an aggrieved party, complainant or witness had a right to intervene.
In this case, the applicant, Santosh Daundkar, was neither a witness, complainant nor an aggrieved party. Hence, he could not be allowed to intervene, the court said.
The court also rejected Daundkar`s another plea seeking transfer of his complaint from magistrate court to sessions court about perjury action against Salman and police for allegedly producing wrong witnesses in this case, as a result of which the trial was delayed.
The judge held that he had no jurisdiction to transfer the complaint. He asked the applicant to approach a higher court or the Principal Judge of Sessions Court in this regard.
On Salman`s plea for a direction to media to report true and fair proceedings of the 2002 hit-and-run case, the court deferred its order till October 15 saying the Bombay High Court was seized of this matter.
The court said that Salman had already moved the High Court by filing a defamation and civil suit against some media channels for allegedly not correctly reporting the proceedings of the case. As the matter was pending in High Court, the sessions court did not give any ruling on the actor`s plea.
The judge observed the high court had already given an interim ruling that the media should provide a fair and objective reporting in the case involving the film star.
Salman`s lawyer Shrikant Shivade argued that the media was biased against the actor and was not reporting correctly the court proceedings.
This had tarnished the image of Salman in the eyes of public, he alleged and urged the media be directed to report true and fair proceedings in the case.
On October 15, the court would hear Salman`s lawyer and prosecution on whether the trial should begin afresh or evidence adduced earlier by the Magistrate should be considered by the sessions court.
Daundkar`s lawyers Aditya Pratap and Abha Singh argued that their client wanted to intervene in this case in public interest to help the prosecution.
They said section 301(1) of CrPc allowed Daundkar to intervene in the matter to help the prosecution. The lawyers cited three Supreme Court judgements to support their arguments.
On the other hand, Salman`s lawyer argued that Daundkar was a third party and could not intervene in the case. He cited nine judgements to argue his case.
The prosecutor said he had no objection if Daundkar and his lawyers helped the prosecution. However, they had no right to examine the witnesses, he said.
The court, however, rejected Daundkar`s plea saying that he was not an aggrieved party and was not concerned with the case.
Hence, he had no right to intervene at this stage. But after the evidence is recorded, he may at the end of the trial urge the court to allow him intervene.
As regards Daundkar`s plea for perjury action against Salman and police, his lawyers said that the Magistrate`s court at Bandra was inquiring into the matter.
The lawyers argued that the inquiry should now be conducted by the sessions court because the hit-and-run case has been transferred from Magistrate`s court to sessions court after it was held that the charge of culpable homicide was made out against the actor.
The court rejected this plea also as the judge held that he was not empowered to decide this.

Anushka Sharma dismisses rumours of 'longest kiss' with Aamir Khan

Reports about the sizzling kiss shared by Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma in the upcoming movie ‘P.K.’ has been refuted by the actress.
According to a popular national daily, Anushka has countered the rumours doing rounds in the Tinsel Town about the supposedly longest ever kiss in Bollywood history.
The diva quipped that ‘P.K.’ has a lot more to offer in terms of a movie, but a ‘record breaking’ kiss is not one of them.
“Firstly I don’t think any of us actually sat and timed all the legendary kisses of world cinema. Plus people like Raj Kumar Hirani and Aamir Khan are far too credible and accomplished to indulge in such a publicity stunt for their film,” the star was quoted.
The movie which is being directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is his second venture with the perfectionist Aamir Khan. ‘Three Idiots’, his previous venture which also starred Sharman Joshi, Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor was a phenomenon breaking all Box Office records.
Anushka, in her 5 years of filmdom, has had a dream debut with Shah Rukh Khan and also worked with greats like Yash Chopra and Vishal Bharadwaj. Her films have all been appreciated by the critics, and her career seems to be blossoming. Her next two projects are with the illustrious Rajkumar Hirani and Anurag Kashyap.
Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, with or without the kiss, are bound to sizzle on screen and the audience eagerly wait to watch the duo come together.

'Hamara Bajaj' to remain with Bajaj, rules HC; John Abraham loses out

Mumbai: In a blow to actor John Abraham, the Bombay High Court has restrained his production house from using `Hamara Bajaj`, a popular tagline associated with an auto firm, as the title of his next movie.
Bajaj Auto Ltd had approached the court against JA Entertainment Pvt Ltd after it learnt Abraham`s production house proposed to make a movie by the name `Hamara Bajaj`.
While ruling in favour of the Pune-based two-wheeler giant on September 21, Justice S J Kathawala granted a permanent injunction, restraining JA Entertainment from using `Hamara Bajaj` as title or anywhere in the movie.
The auto company used `Hamara Bajaj` in advertisements featuring its popular scooter brand `Chetak`. Production of the Chetak stopped in 2009, but the tagline has consistently featured in Bajaj`s corporate campaigns and is identified closely with it.
Abraham`s production firm had earlier clarified that `Hamara Bajaj` was only a working title of the film – starring Ayushmann Khurana and Yami Gautam - to be directed by Shoojit Sircar.

Playing Asaram Bapu means lot of work: Arjun Rampal

Mumbai: Director Prakash Jha has reportedly decided to make a film called ‘Satsang’, which is said to be inspired by spiritual guru Asaram Bapu.
It is being speculated that either Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal or Manoj Bajpayee will play the lead role.
When asked at an event here about the movie, Arjun said: "I got to know about this news today morning only through newspapers. I don`t know about it."
"I think, I will have to work a lot to play Asaram Bapu (Laughs)...mujhe bahut mehnat karni padegi Asaram Bapu banne ke liye," he added in a lighter vein.
Reportedly ‘Satsang’ will also throw light on the recent controversy surrounding Asaram who has been booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Indian Penal Code after a 16-year-old alleged that he raped her.

Armaan Kohli and Shilpa Agnihotri are the first ones to go to perform the task. On the other side, Pratyusha Banerjee and Gauhar Khan try their best to distract them by singing on the top of their voice. Elli Avram and Ratan Rajput having performed the task throughout the night appear to be weary and exhausted. In a random conversation, Elli tells Apurva Agnihotri and Gauhar about the kind of husband she wants in her life and what qualities she is looking for in a man.
While the heaven-mates are busy with the task, Ratan and Elli bring up the topic of the task results that were announced the other day. Elli and Ratan felt that it was unfair to term them the weakest players in the task and they also felt that Kamya Punjabi ‘s suggestion of choosing the best performer through a chit process is also not correct, further revolting against it.

Later in the day, when everybody is busy performing the task, the Warden makes an announcement warning Gauhar, Shilpa, Tanishaa Mukerji and VJ Andy to talk in Hindi and avoid the usage of English words. She also adds that there wont be any further warnings, it would lead to punishment directly. Even after the warning, the housemates fail to follow the rules and are subjected to a punishment by Bigg Boss. Shilpa, Tanishaa and Andy are found guilty and are asked to do 100 sit-ups.

Meanwhile – Gauhar , Kushal Tandon, Ratan and Pratyusha are trying their best to distract people on the other side. Even after several trials, the heaven-mates are not able to get the time right and lose points. Hell-mates rejoice every time the heaven-mates go wrong and are credited with a point . Later in the day, Bigg Boss asks Tanishaa to come to the confession room and asks her to unanimously decide two names from the heaven-side they want to save from the swap. After much discussion, they decide to save Anita and struggle with the second name. Armaan and Anita have an argument over this and Anita gets annoyed because of Armaan’s attitude.
After Tanishaa announces two names,Bigg Boss brings in a new twist to surprise everyone. He announces an activity that will take place between the two nominated contestants and the one who wins will be saved from the swap.
After lights go off, Sangram Singh is seen discussing about the hell-mates and how they are being cunning in their own space.

A Cyrus Carol: 3 Ways Miley's Career Could Go Based on Her New 'Rolling Stone' Interview

Miley Cyrus covers the new issue of Rolling Stone with the now familiar sight of her tongue hanging out. The cover image is unfortunate, because it overshadows a great interview that begins with a mix-up of the Baldwin brothers (Stephen is a big fan, not Alec), passes through her disintegrating relationship, and ends with a club scene right out of one of her music videos. On that long, eventuful ride, Miley comes across as clueless, self-aware, pretentious, smart, foolish, and pretty fun. While she might not have the best head on her shoulders, it's a 20-year-old head. There's plenty of time and potential for it to become smarter and savvier. But that also means there's plenty of time for it to stagnate and continue in its decline to post-Disney tragedy. Let's look at some potential paths for Miley in the wake of Twerk-Gate.
The Good: As I do with all child stars, I implore you, Miley, take some night classes. Nothing bad can come of more knowledge. In fact, that's the one piece of advice Miley would do well to heed: learn something! Learn the history of the hip hop you say you love, and learn why your "twerking" feels like a sign of disrespect to the black community. Learn what slut-shaming is, and whether or not you're being unfairly judged based on your gender. Armed with this knowledge, Miley then brings something to the table to collaborations with the famous hip hop stars she texts, and brings a whole new audience to their work.
The Bad: Remaining gleefully unaware, Miley seems convinced she's black. Never daring to do more than pay lip service to her appreciation of black artists, her friendship with Kanye West falls flat and sparks a lame fued, which Steve Carrell jumps on, unhappy about her dangerous driving. (Quoth Miley: "It's like Dan in Real Life is watching me right now!"). After that, Miley is driven out of her neighborhood and left with some stale schtick and not enough good sense to take a break from the business.
The Ugly: Like Justin Bieber, her doppleganger and her self-proclaimed mentee, Miley lets her coddling parents and colony of sychopantic fans inflate her ego. Then, convinced of her swaggy adulthood, Cyrus wastes her money on increasingly elaborate party buses and winds up singing "Party in the USA" on a series of mall tours around Middle America. It doesn't seem like it'll come to this, but just in case, someone should probably make sure she doesn't have any plans to buy a monkey.

'Grace of Monaco' Bumped to 2014 Thanks to Oscar Politics

Folks, it doesn't look like Grace of Monaco is quite Oscar-worthy material... or at least that's what we can take away from The Weinstein Company's decision to push its Grace Kelly biopic to Spring 2014. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Olivier Dahan-directed (La Vie en Rose) film will not be released in time to qualify for this year's Oscar race because TWC believes that it needs more time to be completed.
The film, which chronicles six months of Kelly's life after retiring from Hollywood and transitioning to a life with Monaco's Prince Rainier, was originally set to be released Nov. 27, a date ideal for Oscar season. It was rumored that Nicole Kidman's performance as Kelly in the biopic would place her in line for a possible Oscar for the Lead Actress category, but it seems like TWC might be nervous about the caliber of the film and its Oscar competition. Had the Weinsteins decided to release the film this fall, Kidman would have most likely gone up against other lead actress contenders such as Judi Dench (for Philomena), Meryl Streep (for August: Osage County), Cate Blanchett (for Blue Jasmine), Emma Thompson (for Saving Mr. Banks), and Sandra Bullock (for Gravity). A tough battle, to say the least.
The move to bump Grace of Monaco to Spring 2014 will position it as more of a commercial entry than an awards play: another sign that the film is relatively weak compared to other films coming out this fall. Until some unknown time in the spring, speculators of the film will just have to rely on the opinions of HitFix Awards Campaign editor Gregory Ellwood, who viewed some of scenes of the film at the Cannes Film Festival: "This sneak didn't convince anyone in the room that 'Grace' is anything more than a Kidman showcase (not yet, at least). Although, it certainly does look pretty. Is it a hit? That remains to be seen."

The controversy around Blue is the Warmest Color, 2013 Palme d'Or winner and French coming-of-age film about a romance between two women, deepened recently with accusations against director Abdellatif Kechiche of emotional abuse by stars Lea Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos. This doesn't look good for Kechiche after crew members complained last May about unpaid work hours and grueling shoots that put the film over budget. This has prompted Kechiche to strike back, claiming he was never satisfied (with Seydoux particularly, as she has been vocal and adamant about the mistreatment), and the film should not be released. But, after a stunning showing at Cannes, the movie is coming out anyway, due on Oct. 25 in the US.
Hollywood is no stranger to allegedly unethical productions that earn esteem as classics (think of Apocalypse Now), but usually controversy arises after a film has been released. Only a rarefied few have seen Blue as of yet, and while their reviews are effusive, the behind the scenes drama seems to qualify these accolades a bit. It becomes troublesome to compliment the candor of the film's NC-17 worthy sex scenes if the actresses felt pressured to perform them or uncomfortable with how much they revealed. Likewise, the lengthy running time reflects just how many hours — potentially unpaid hours — crew members spent working on the set.
The film is ineligible for the Foreign Film Oscar this year, but, like last year's Amour, has the chance to compete among the English language films. Surely some voters who know about the controversy will hesitate before nominating Kechiche for Best Director. Is that fair, if Kechiche wrote and directed an outstanding story? Is supporting this film an act of confidence in the performers and encouragement to the crew that their work is being recognized? Or will it simply encourage distribution and production companies to dismiss on-set complaints and push directors to finish award-baiting films at all costs? Because regardless of what happened, pushing actors and crew members to the point of emotional distress is not the way to run a movie set. It remains to be seen what actually happened, but it doesn't sound like things will be settled any time soon. And until then, it's a tough choice — support a potentially unethical director or miss out on what sounds like one of the best films of the year.

According to reports, Parsons and Galecki may be asking for as much as $1 million an episode. Right now they make $325,000 per episode. Yes, that would be quite a leap, but they could make a very strong argument that they deserve it. Let's just hope that Galecki is a lot more assertive than Leonard, his character on the show.
Yes, we're still in rather tough economic times, but for the most part, television and movie salaries, particularly those of its superstars, seem to be immune to that. Many of them are raking in seven-figure yearly salaries.
I might have felt bad for CBS in the past, but after I saw what they did in their negotiations with Time Warner Cable, I feel no pity. They have quite the deep coffers with their run of successful shows and their casts should be paid accordingly.

'Teen Mom' Farrah Abraham creates moulds of her private parts for new sex product

Just when you thought that politics couldn't possibly get any weirder, Eddie Izzard announced plans to run for Mayor of London in 2020. The actor and comedian made his intentions known during the annual Labor Party conference in London on Tuesday. Izzard has been a longtime supporter of the Labor Party and rumors of him possibly entering politics have been swirling for some time. He has reportedly opted out of competing in the 2016 elections, as there are already a number of experienced members of Parliament already in the running, in favor of the 2020 race.
While Izzard is most certainly not the first celebrity to make the move into politics, his decision to run for mayor has left us with a lot of questions. Questions like: is it possible to run a mayoral campaign on the platform "cake or death"? Will he be leaving showbusiness for good, or will he follow in Arnold Schwarzenegger's footsteps and go back to making movies once his term ends? What will happen to his Hannibal character? Will he ever embark on a stand up tour again? Who actually thought that Mockingbird Lane, NBC's failed Munsters reboot, was a good idea?
Finally, will he be any more ridiculous than the current Mayor of London, Boris Johnson? It's not an easy task. After all, Johnson has gotten stuck on a zip line, been quoted as say that the women's Olympic beach volleyball team "glistened like wet otters" and has a head of hair more insane than Donald Trump's. (And that's just been the past year!) But Izzard is a comedian, so we're sure he'll be able to come up with something.

It's only natural the Obama presidency would trigger a national re-evaluation of race in America: we now have a counterweight to our shame about slavery. And what better way to articulate it than with tales of The Great Emancipator?
One year after Obama took office, Seth Grahame-Smith's Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter hit the bookshelves. By 2012, the film version of that historical mash-up was released, beating out Steven Spielberg's Lincoln by a few months. The latter was penned by a more intellectual writer, Tony Kushner. It was showered with accolades, and more than doubled the take of its supernatural sibling.
Makes sense, when you think about it. A film depicting our higher selves should entail high-culture storytelling. But where the historical version walked us to the edge, the pop version said out loud what we know to be true: slavery is colonial vampirism.
There's no point in being binary, I suppose. Films for the most part are pop culture, even historical ones. So we got to have it both ways, plain spoken and erudite. And why not? We deserve to bask in the story of this significant pivot away from our past.
Personally, I dug the dude with the axe.

Fans of Lorde, the 16-year-old pop star, have been eagerly awaiting her debut album since "Royals" started going viral. Luckily for them, the singer has made Pure Heroine available to stream via VH1 a week ahead of its September 30 release. Like her hit single, the album has enough electronic elements to help it sit comfortably on the charts, but the beats are all simple and pared-down, which helps give the album a more organic feel than the EDM-pop club bangers that have become so popular recently. Sonically, it gives off the impression that it could have been made in Lorde's bedroom, with some beats she put together herself, which perfectly compliments Lorde's anti-glamour pop star persona. The songs are distinctly undanceable, and her voice gives the lyrics the kind of longing that music about being a teenager requires.
To put it bluntly, Pure Heroine is the album that Lana Del Rey wishes she made. This isn't meant to provoke a debate about Del Rey's "authenticity" versus Lorde's — after all, all pop stars have cultivated personas, and where Del Rey is a trailer park Lolita, Lorde is the "realistic" pop star. However, where Born to Die was overproduced in places, layering echoes over strings over electronic beats, Pure Heroine's minimal production allows the songs to shine in a way that Del Rey's couldn't quite manage. Lorde also manages to make each song on her album distinct and unique, with which Del Rey had some trouble. Many of Lorde's songs are tinged with the same kind of longing found on Born to Die — which is probably a result of her being an actual teenager — but keeps it all from feeling one-note. It's almost as if Lorde took all of the things that were good from Del Rey's debut and fine-tuned them to create a better, more interesting result.
Lorde has also perfectly timed the release of her debut. In the upcoming months, there are several attention-grabbing albums coming out, including ones from Miley Cyrus (October 4), Katy Perry (October 22) and Lady Gaga (November 11). Not only does an earlier release guarantee Lorde the press she deserves, but it will give fans a chance to get acquainted with the songs before we're all bombarded with club banger after club banger. Lorde is establishing herself as the foil to the over-the-top pop divas of our time - through both her music and her personality - and people seeking something normal or relatable on the pop charts will flock to Pure Heroine.
The New Zealander has been quoted as saying that she wants to make something "real" that kids can relate to, and so far her desire for authenticity has served her well. There's sure to be at least two more hit singles off of Pure Heroine and hopefully Lorde's success will allow for more artists like her to break through to the mainstream. Either way, it seems like Lorde's quest for an anti-pop star is going to make her a genuine one.

Los Angeles: Amidst rumours of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger dating Heather Milligan, photographs of the duo kissing each other have emerged.
The 66-year-old was photographed kissing Milligan Sep 20 after a romantic dinner at Fig Restaurant in Fairmont Hotel, Santa Monica, reports tmz.com.
They arrived separately, but before leaving the actor slipped into Milligan`s car to give her a goodbye kiss as she got into her car.
`The Terminator` was married to Maria Shriver, but they filed for divorce in 2011 to end their 25-year marriage.

Salman Khan, Karan Johar team up for a film?

Mumbai: Salman Khan and Karan Johar have certainly let bygones be bygones.
The two had worked together in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ way back in 1998. Karan had, by then, turned a very dear friend of SRK, who was Salman’s arch rival. And hence, Karan reportedly maintained distance from Salman.
Surprisingly, the ‘Dabangg’ superstar and KJo have been spotted bonding with each other in the recent times. They were seen sharing great camaraderie on the sets of a reality show and speculations are rife that the actor might make an appearance on the filmmaker’s talk show –‘Koffee with Karan’- which is all set to return on TV with its next season.
If the rumour mills are to be believed, then KJo is also planning to rope in Salman for his next. And if it turns out to be true, then it will be Johar’s second film with the ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ superstar.
Salman seems to be in a reconciliation spree. He took the initiative to greet Shah Rukh Khan by hugging him at Baba Siddiqui’s Iftaar party. He also extended an invitation to SRK to visit the sets of ‘Bigg Boss’ to promote his film. And King Khan was more than willing to make his presence felt on Salman’s show.

Oscar report came as a surprise, says Nimrat Kaur

Mumbai: Actress Nimrat Kaur, who debuted with ‘The Lunchbox’, said the report that the film was being considered for an Oscar nomination came as a surprise.
"Our film was released on Friday and the news came out on Saturday... I was too distracted with the feedback we were getting for our film. The Oscar report came as a surprise, we were hoping for our best," Nimrat Kaur told reporters during the inauguration of 4th edition of Jagran film festival.
While ‘The Lunchbox’ was one of the strong contenders, it was Gujarati film ‘The Good Road’ that was eventually chosen as India`s official entry.
The actress said she is very happy with the positive response to her debut film.
"`Lunch Box` has gotten only better with each passing day. The box office report doesn`t matter as its my first film and I am more than happy with the response the film has garnered."
Directed by Ritesh Batra, ‘The Lunchbox’ features Irrfan Khan and Nimrat Kaur in the lead.

Shraddha Kapoor wants to take music lessons, again

New Delhi: Actress Shraddha Kapoor has something more than just acting on her mind. The ‘Aashiqui 2’ actress wants to start taking music lessons again.
The 24-year-old, who took singing lessons in her childhood, decided to exercise her vocal skills after playing the role of singer Arohi in her debut movie ‘Aashqui 2’ opposite Aditya Roy Kapoor.
"I am really keen to start my music riyaz (practice) once again. Playing Arohi only reminded me how much I missed doing it," Shraddha said in a statement.
The actress will soon be seen in Punit Malhotra`s forthcoming movie ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’.

UP activist moves court for ban on 'Ramleela'

Lucknow: A public interest litigation (PIL) was filed before the Allahabad High Court`s Lucknow bench Wednesday for a ban on Bollywood film ‘Ramleela’, releasing Nov 15, if its makers did not change its name.
In her petition, social activist Nutan Thakur said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s film has been given the name ‘Ramleela’ while it has nothing to do with this pious Hindu religious event.
Instead, the petitioner says, the film calls itself ‘Ram Leela of bullets’ and that the official trailer of the film shows abusive language and intimate scenes between film actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, which are far away from the religious connotations the word ‘Ramleela’ carries.
"The use of the word `Ram Leela` is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and hence either the film`s name should be changed or the film be banned," Thakur said.
She also added that she has sought a ban on promos and denial of certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) if the producer does not change the name of the film.
In Jaipur, a court Saturday directed police to register a case against Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and others for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of people in ‘Ramleela’, a lawyer said.
The orders came on a complaint filed by lawyer Pawan Sharma.

Prakash Raj to star in Hollywood project?

Chennai: Actor-filmmaker Prakash Raj has reportedly been roped in to play an important role in the Hollywood screen adaptation of Vikas Swarup`s ‘Six Suspects’, which is expected to go on floors March 2014.
"I`m happy to share that my close friend Prakash Raj has signed a Hollywood project. The film will be based on the book `Six Suspects` and is expected to go on floors in March next year," posted Kannada filmmaker Beesu Suresha on his Facebook page.
Argentinian filmmaker Pablo Trapero will helm the yet untitled film. ‘Six Suspects’ is the working title of the film.

'Student Of The Year' cast reunites

Mumbai: Actors Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, who got their big break in Bollywood with the 2012 movie ‘Student Of The Year’ (SOTY), came together to perform at an event.
The event took place Sep 22 in Hong Kong where all three actors enjoyed dancing to popular tracks from the movie such as ‘Radha teri chunri’, said a statement.
"Sidharth Malhotra recently had a small reunion with his fellow co-stars Alia and Varun. They performed on all the popular songs of their debut film on this Saturday in Hong Kong," said a source.
Meanwhile all of them are busy with their individual projects.
While Alia will soon be seen in Imtiaz Ali`s ‘Highway’, a movie adaptation of author Chetan Bhagat`s ‘Two States’, Varun will be seen in his father David Dhawan`s directorial venture ‘Main Tera Hero’.
Sidharth will show grey shades in Ekta Kapoor`s upcoming project ‘The Villain’.

He seemed cheerful: Amitabh Bachchan on Dilip Kumar

Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan says veteran actor Dilip Kumar was cheerful when he went to meet him in a hospital here.
The 90-year-old was admitted to Lilavati Hospital Sep 15 after suffering a mild heart attack. His health has improved and he has been shifted to a private room from the intensive care unit (ICU).
The “Mughal-E-Azam” actor is married to veteran actress Saira Banu.
"He seemed cheerful, at least when he saw me. Sairaji warned me that he had been quite irritable and non-cooperative throughout the day, and so to excuse any kind of untoward behaviour that he may dole out to me. But he was gracious and kind," Amitabh posted on his blog.
"But he smiled when he saw me and when I held his hand he gripped it like I would never be able to extricate myself from it … strong and full of strength," wrote Big B, who played Dilip Kumar`s rebellious son in the movie "Shakti".
According to a source, Dilip Kumar may be discharged from the hospital in a couple of days.

When the paparazzi chased Jennifer Hudson look alike

Los Angeles: Jennifer Hudson has offered her sympathy to a woman who was chased by paparazzi after they mistook her for the actress.

The female, whose name is unknown, bears a striking resemblance to Hudson. She was caught amid paparazzi who were convinced that she was the real one, reports contactmusic.com.

The 32-year-old took to micro-blogging website Twitter to clear the confusion about her look alike with a photograph of her doppleganger.

"Cute girl! But that ain`t me! I know the poor girl was like, `Why are they taking pictures of me!` Wow," Hudson tweeted.

Will 'Trophy Wife' Be Sabotaged by Its Own Title?

Can a title really hurt a show's chances at ratings success? Ask the cast and creatives behind Cougar Town. The Courtney Cox vehicle was canceled after three low-rated seasons at ABC before getting a new life over at TBS. Fans resent the sitcom's sensational and inaccurate moniker for chasing away its potential audience. Cougar Town sounds like a Real Housewives spin-off, when it's actually a goofy, Scrubs-like (Bill Lawrence is the creator of both) comedy about drinking wine and throwing pennies into a can. "Penny caaaan!"

Now ABC has itself right back in the same situation with debut comedy Trophy Wife. The pilot airs Tuesday, Sep. 24, but has been available on iTunes and Hulu for a few weeks. The first two episodes are helmed by Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore, and the cast includes stalwart TV talent like Marcia Gay Harden and Bradley Whitford supporting film funny girl Malin Ackerman in the title role. The kids are funny and not overly precocious. Ackerman is endearing, and a gifted physical comedienne. It has potential, but not if viewers are turned off by the icky, borderline offensive name.

Trophy Wife is also smack in the middle of ABC's all-over-the-map Tuesday lineup. It starts off with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., then 180's to comedy with novelty '80s sitcom The Goldbergs and Trophy Wife, followed by soapy lottery drama Lucky 7. It's doubtful that a collection of series this varied will keep viewers tuned in all night, so this show might be dead in the water if the marketing campaign doesn't give America a compelling reason to click back over. Then again, maybe the Trophy Wife title will intrigue the audience of the gimicky Goldbergs. One thing's for sure: when we have so many viewing options at our fingertips, it's unfair for a show with as much promise as Trophy Wife to be crippled by a crappy title.

There may have been a time when Zoe Saldana was pegged as just another pretty face in Hollywood. By now, we all know the type: gorgeous, thin, kinda racially ambiguous, and talented enough to make it all work. But it seems that the actress has no intention of playing eye candy any longer. Over the past few years she's taken on projects like The Words and Colombiana, and even her roles in Avatar and the Star Trek franchise have allowed her to branch out. Considering the movies she has lined up right now, it looks like Zoe is making some truly exciting career moves. Here's a look at three new movies we can all get psyched about.
Nina

The web practically exploded with rage when it was announced that Zoe Saldana would be taking on the role of legendary jazz singer and activist Nina Simone in the upcoming biopic, due mostly to the fact that Saldana is lighter-skinned and more conventionally Hollywood-pretty than the fierce and fabulous Simone. Now that the fury has died down, and Zoe herself has spoken out about her decision to take the lead in Nina, we can't help but get excited about the movie. At the very least, it seems only fair that audiences take Zoe's advice and see the film before passing judgment. Here's hoping that Zoe -- a completely capable actress -- surprises the naysayers.

Blood Ties

Starring alongside Mila Kunis, Marion Cotillard, and Clive Owen, Zoe joins a seriously impressive cast in the new film from French director Guillaume Canet. The Brooklyn-set crime drama will be a gritty new look for Zoe, but she also brings some romance to the film, playing lover to Billy Crudup's character Frank.

Out Of The Furnace

It is impossible to not get excited about this one. Zoe will be in excellent company with Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, and Forest Whitaker on board. Although she's playing another love interest, we expect things to get really intense, really fast, and Zoe will certainly have the opportunity to prove that she can play hard with the big boys.

No flirting on stage, say The Saturdays members

Los Angeles: Members of band The Saturdays are confident that they will never follow singer Miley Cyrus and flirt on stage.
Cyrus recently left a bad impression after she flirted with singer Robin Thicke on stage at an award ceremony.
But singers Mollie King, Rochelle Humes, Vanessa White, and Una Healey will not be seen doing that anytime soon, reports dailystar.co.uk.
"We won`t be copying her. I don`t think anyone wants to see me swinging around naked," said Healey.
But Humes thought Cyrus` performance added the fun to the award ceremony: "I thought she brought a bit of fun to it."

At 62, Jane Seymour poses in bikini

Los Angeles: Actress Jane Seymour has stripped down to a bikini for a photoshoot at the age of 62.She posed in a skimpy turquoise two-piece swimsuit on the beach outside her home in Malibu, California for a series of shots taken by her photographer son Sean Flynn, reports contactmusic.com.
Seymour was given the bikini by her designer friend Cheri Ingle on her 62nd birthday."When Cheri gave me her gift I said, `You must be joking! The last time I wore a bikini I was 20, so I thought this was a big joke...In the spirit of that joke, we just said, `Okay, let`s go down to the beach`. It was no hair, no make-up, no retouching. Just a gift from a son to a mother and a girlfriend to her friend," Britain’s Hello! magazine quoted Seymour as saying.
Seymour says she was amazed to see her toned physique in the photographs.

'Argo' career high despite axed scenes: Taylor Schilling

London: Most of her scenes in Ben Affleck directed `Argo` ended up on the editing floor but actress Taylor Schilling says the Oscar -winning movie was still a career high.
The actress played Ben Affleck`s wife in the 2012 film and had a great time shooting the movie though her part was cut drastically, reported Contactmusic.

"Most of it got cut! I was in the last scene of the movie and it was an incredible experience. I love Ben Affleck so much, he`s an amazing director and his wife (Jennifer Garner) was so generous to me when the role got cut.
"It won Best Picture and I wasn`t in it! But honestly to be in a movie that won Best Picture at the Academy Awards... It`s one of the highlights of my career so far. Really, it was incredible."

How Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Could Make the 2014 Golden Globes Even Funnier

It is a truth universally acknowledged that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are consistently the funniest part of any award show they attend. After all, the pair easily stole the opening segment of last night's Emmy Awards away from host Neil Patrick Harris, and fans have been impaitently waiting for their next hosting assignment since the credits rolled on the 2013 Golden Globes. They might not have to wait much longer, though: on last night's red carpet, Fey revealed that she and Poehler had been asked back to host this year's Golden Globes, and that they were planning to discuss whether or not to take the gig that night. In the hopes that they will accept NBC's offer, we've come up with five ways for Fey and Poehler to rock the Golden Globes... not that they'll need any help, of course.
Everyone Gets HeckledThe duo became, hands-down, the funniest part of last night's awards the moment they shouted at Harris to take off his pants and "twerk it." Armed with 3D glasses (so they could see his "business" up close) and buckets of popcorn, Fey and Poehler proved that they are the funniest showbiz team since Statler and Waldorf, and the drunkest night in Hollywood is the perfect place to have them heckle and snark on all of the winners and presenters. Who knows, maybe Meryl Streep will get a bit tipsy and join in.

Hold a Loser's Party Onstage

Amy Poehler has never won an Emmy — it's heartbreaking, but true. This year, she and Jon Hamm, her good friend and another perennial loser, decided to host an after party to celebrate all of those talented people who didn't recieve a statue last night. Held at the Soho House, losers got in for free, but winners had to check their Emmys at the door and make a $1,000 donation to World Wide Orphans. Poehler should continue the tradition at the Golden Globes and celebrate all of the losers from both television and film during the ceremony so that viewers can finally live the dream of partying with the funniest ladies in showbiz. Plus, we've got the perfect co-host: Leonardo DiCaprio.
Interacting with the Stars
Whether they had Mandy Patinkin judge some singing or Glenn Close play drunk, some of the funniest moments in this past Globes ceremony occured when Fey and Poehler interacted with the crowd. It's always fun to see typically serious actors let loose and goof off, and nobody is better at encouraging silliness than these two. Sure, audience participation is a risky game, but they can always fall back on some of their reliably funny and game friends like Hamm and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Costumes — Lots of Costumes
Fey and Poehler crashed the nominees for Best Actor and Best Actress in a Miniseries or Movie disguised as the stars of the fictional movie Dog President last year, and managed to steal all of the attention from the actual nominees without saying a word. The pair should bust out some more alter-egos this year, or at the very least, channel one of Poehler's famous Emmy skits and utilize some props. Both women are fantastic character actresses, and their time on Saturday Night Live has given each of them a vast repertoire of goofy and weird characters who would be perfect to liven up some of the ceremony's duller moments.
The Golden Globes Drinking Game
On the red carpet before last year's Globes, Fey and Poehler revealed that they had devised a drinking game for both the viewers at home and the stars in attendance to play. Rules included drinking every time someone cries during a speech, a wardrobe malfunction occurs, or if you've just had a difficult week. This year, they should take it to the next level and actually play the game onstage - our only request is that they honor the time-honored rule established by the cast of Bridesmaids and take a drink every time someone says "Scorsese."
Bonus: Amy Poehler Finally Wins
Sure, it's not an Emmy, but seeing Poehler recognized as the funniest woman on television would be the perfect cherry on top of the Fey-Poheler hosting sundae. And if that doesn't work, she can always be nominated for her hosting work at next year's Emmys.

Last night's Emmy Awards provided plenty of surprises and plenty of... uneven moments. And shockingly, even though there are more well-dressed and well-known people working in television now than ever, the red carpet was pretty awful. Hardly a gasp was uttered at how spectacularly a gruff actor cleans up or how a new actress takes to her first big event. And our reliable, always stylish standbys? The blandest and most ill-fitting of them all.

The best dressed list is so short (it begins and ends with Zachary Quinto, the end) there's not much reason to write it. But we can lament those we expected to do better (Olivia Pope, how could you do this to us?!), and celebrate those whose choices were so strange, they at least gave us something to giggle at through yet another commercial break. As such, check out our list of worst dressed celebs at the 2013 Emmys... an award ceremony destined to go down in history for this accomplishment alone.

Azealia Banks was hailed as the next big thing, like, a million years ago (in pop culture time). Okay, so we're not really supposed to condone beef, but it is a part of Hip-Hop culture and it has made for some classic songs over the years. From what we've seen, Azealia has her own brand of femininity that could definitely liven this party up.

Azealia is not afraid to pull on influences from a variety of genres, which makes her way more fun to watch than the average person. R&B, pop, rap, rave -- all genres are up for grabs. And when her eclectic style gets translated into visuals, it's always an experience.
She’s Sexy And Sexual, Without Making That The Foundation Of Her Appeal
This is hugely important, and almost impossible for a woman in Hip-Hop (or any other artistic movement) to achieve. Even though she was featured on the cover of Dazed & Confused blowing up a condom, and she definitely plays up on her sex appeal, Azealia manages to come off more New York funky-fashionista-turned-rapper than anything else. While artists like Lil Kim, Foxy Brown, and Nicki Minaj have surely influenced her (and paved the way for her to do her own particular thing) it's refreshing and exciting to see a femme rapper take a slightly different approach to her image.
"212" Is Still The Jam

It's hard to believe that Azealia's debut single dropped back in 2011, mainly because it is still the jam! "212" introduced listeners to a unique style, and it was seriously difficult to place Azealia in one particular box. All good signs of good things to come.

So, the 2013 Emmys were very, um, interesting. There were some standard Neil Patrick Harris song and dance numbers, some off-colored gay jokes from Michael Douglas, an oddly dressed Melissa Leo, and Sarah Silverman being, well, Sarah Silverman. And as for the actual award portion of the show? Well, it was filled with a few pleasant surprises and some head-scratching upsets. In the words of NPH: "This just in. Nobody in America is winning their Emmy office pool. Surprises galore." Yup, that sounds about right. Here's our take on the five biggest surprises of the Emmys:
Supporting Actress - Comedy
Winner: Merritt Wever, Nurse Jackie
Merritt Wever, a newcomer to the Emmy race, was probably the most surprised person in the room when her name was called. It was definitely an upset (albeit, a good one) that Wever took home the award, considering she was up against Jane Krakowski of 30 Rock and Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen of Modern Family. And as a bonus, Wever gave the audience and viewers at home possibly the shortest and funniest speech of all time: "Thank you so much. Thank you so much. I gotta go... bye!" (If you're wondering why she looks so familiar, you've probably been watching her bring out Schmidt's inner nice guy on New Girl.)
Supporting Actor - Comedy
Winner: Tony Hale, Veep
Heyyy, brother. In one of the most pleasant surprises of the night, Tony Hale (of Arrested Development fame) took home the Emmy for his role on Veep, beating out Bill Hader of Saturday Night Live and basically the entire male cast of Modern Family. Bonus: He made Julia Louis-Dreyfus' acceptance speech for Lead Actress in a Comedy one of the most memorable of the evening by assisting her during her speech, a la his right hand man character from the HBO comedy.
Supporting Actor - Drama
Winner: Bobby Cannavale, Boardwalk Empire
Are they just repeating all the nominees? That's what we were all thinking when Bobby Cannavale, who plays Gyp Rosetti on Boardwalk Empire, nabbed the Emmy from the hands of Aaron Paul, Peter Dinklage, and Mandy Patinkin. Even more surprising, he's apparently dating Rose Byrne from Bridesmaids.
Lead Actor - Drama
Winner: Jeff Daniels, The Newsroom
So let's get this straight. Somehow, Jeff Daniels' performance in the first season (that's the worst one) of The Newsroom wowed the voters more than Kevin Spacey's Francis Underwood, Damian Lewis' Nicholas Brody, Jon Hamm's Don Draper, and Bryan Cranston's Walter White? What? And to top it all off, Daniels ferociously chewed a piece of gum during his acceptance speech. Heisenberg and Underwood would never let that fly.
Variety Series
Winner: The Colbert Report
And in one of the best surprises of the night, Stephen Colbert finally put an end to The Daily Show's reign of victory with a win for the team at The Colbert Report. Looks like Jon Stewart shouldn't have taken such a long vacation...

The new sit-com Dads premiered last Tuesday and it had gotten plenty of negative press before it even aired. People were up in arms about stereotypes: an Asian woman was asked to dress up in a Sailor Moon outfit, for one. The thing is, I'm not sure that it's warranted.
This is Seth MacFarlane (executive producer of Dads) we're talking about here. This is the guy who skewers EVERYONE on Family Guy. It's just a little more jarring to see it done with an actual live person instead of an animated one. People might be getting just a little too-PC here. Take deep breaths, folks. There. We feel a bit better, don't we?
I grew up in a time when All In The Family was on the air. Archie Bunker would have taken one look at this show and snorted, "Keep on keepin' on, guys." As the years have gone by, I'm just finding things to be more and more hypersensitive in terms of political correctness. They would have turned Bunker into a softer, kinder person on a show today.
Giovanni Ribisi is a great actor who deserves to have a strong run on a good show. MacFarlane is a creative genius who is not afraid to offend and the other Seth (Green)...well, let's just say that I like his work on Robot Chicken more, but I'll tolerate him on here. Martin Mull has also been enjoyable to watch, and Peter Riegert was the star of both Animal House and Local Hero, two of the best movies ever, so he gets a pass for life.
The show tried to actually turn the bad press into a positive, with ads showing people who had seen it saying, "Ignore the reviews!" We'll see if this all leads to a quick hook, like the live-action The Tick or the even more quickly yanked How to Be A Gentleman, or it eventually settling down somewhat like Family Guy or American Dad!. Heck, even if it does fail, MacFarlane's got his live-action The Flintstones to fall back on. I wonder if he'll turn Dino into a farting dinosaur...

They say boys mature more slowly than girls, but this is ridiculous.
A new Broadway production of the play opened this past week with Orlando Bloom and Condola Rashad (Phylicia and Ahmad's daughter) in the title roles. As we all know thanks to the freshman required reading list, Romeo and Juliet are teenagers when they meet, fall in love, and screw everything up. (Because they're teenagers.) Orlando Bloom is almost 37, which makes the 26 year-old Rashad's casting almost age-appropriate. He's got a wife and a kid and probably can handle responsibility pretty well. What's going on here? Is this some comment on his generation's suspended adolescence?
But he's dreamy; he's got the chops; he looks good under a balcony — what's the problem? This situation shines a light on the fact that not all star-casting stage debacles happen because the actors can't cut it. Sometimes they happen because the actor is, unfortunately, not suited for his dream role anymore. Chances are, this Romeo & Juliet is happening because Bloom wanted to do it, not because the theater-going public was clamoring for another adaptation. That's not to say that he's not pulling down some fantastic reviews. But who knows how much better he could have been in a fitting role?

'Bigg Boss 7' diaries day 8: VJ Andy turns kaamwaali bai!

The first inmate has been eliminated from the house and from 15 there are now only 14 people in Bigg Boss’ house
Hazel Keech has been evicted from the house. Apparently the actor was getting really sick and vomiting a lot. Now we don’t know if it was ‘coz she was made to live in such poor conditions in Jahannum or something else.
Rajat Rawail is homesick
The day starts with Rajat Rawail getting emotional as he is missing his family and is seen talking about this to the heaven-mates. Due to his continuous bad health and depression, Rajat further starts packing his bags and says that he is leaving the house. As the captain, Tanishaa Mukerji requests Bigg Boss to send a doctor to examine Rajat as his health is getting worse.
Rajat revolts by removing her mike until the doctor is sent in. Bigg Boss finally calls Tanishaa inside the confession room and sends a doctor to examine Rajat. Inspite of that, Rajat continues to whine, wail and complain unbearable pain; Bigg Boss assures him and tell him that his family is doing well. He asks the Bodyguard actor to take care of his health.
Gauhar Khan and Kushal Tandon get close
Across the boundary, Kushal Tandon is seen blowing his own trumpet and boasting about the awards he has won so far to Ellie Avram. VJ Andy is seen working like a maid in the house and everybody starts calling him a kaamwaali bai. Later in the day, Gauahar Khan and Kushal continue to spend time together. Kushal tells Gauahar that she is one person in the house that he loves to trouble. The actor is then seen giving Gauhar a nice back massage. Ahem…ahem…
Nominations
The day comes to an end with the nominations wherein Bigg Boss asks the heaven-mates to nominate people from hell. Being the captain, Tanishaa is given a special power to nominate one person from the heaven side as well. Housemates are further seen discussing nominations and anticipating about the next swap that will be coming their way soon.

Vidya Balan to star in 'Bobby Jasoos'

Mumbai: Actress Dia Mirza and beau Sahil Sangha have signed Vidya Balan for their forthcoming feature `Bobby Jasoos`, to be produced under their banner Born Free Entertainment.
Vidya, 35, will play the lead in the film.
"I found the idea of a lady detective irresistible as I did the title Bobby Jasoos. I`ve known Dia and Sahil for many years, they`re lovely people and one can sense that this will be their shared labor of love.
"That`s the kind of Producers everyone hopes to have. The final clincher was the script by Sanyuktha Chawla and Director Samar Shaikh who I`m really looking forward to working with," said Vidya.
Mirza is equally emphatic about the venture and said, "I`m thrilled to welcome Vidya into the Born Free family. The script of `Bobby Jasoos` bears testimony to the fact that being patient and investing in good stories usually reaps good dividends."
The shooting for the movie will start mid-November this year and will be ready for a summer 2014 release.
Dia and Sahil last produced `Love Breakups Zindagi`.

Sanjay Dutt to act, dance in jail for charity

Pune: The acting and dancing bug has again bitten Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who is serving a 42-month sentence at the Yerawada Central Jail (YCJ) here.
Sanjay, 54, along with some four dozen other inmates, has been selected to perform in a stage drama at a welfare show organised by the state Prisons Department, here next Thursday.
The mega-annual show will be held at the Bal Gandharva Auditorium here, officials said.
Raring to do what he loves, Sanjay has been polishing his acting-dancing skills and furiously rehearsing for the show inside the YCJ premises since the past fortnight along with the other inmates.
Though jail officials remain tight-lipped on the show details, it is learnt that Sanjay and his team will perform the famous `Lungi dance` from the recent Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone blockbuster "Chennai Express."
Besides, he may also dance to a patriotic song and a number from his superhit movie, "Lage Raho Munnabhai".
The rehearsals for the two-hour final show are carried out in the community hall regularly without any of the inmates disturbing their routine of doing jail chores.
For instance, Sanjay has been assigned the task of making big and small paper bags which are sold to the outside world through NGOs and he also gets a nominal payment for his labour.
However, for the main show, Sanjay, who sports a long salt-and-pepper beard-moustache now, and the others are likely to be permitted saloon facilities to get a shave, hair-cut and pedicure-manicure. He will get a chance to get some make-up applied by a make-up man and don costumes to be brought in by a designer.
Sanjay and the performing inmates shall be transported to-and-from the Bal Gandharva Auditorium, around five kms away under tight security.
On May 16, Sanjay had surrendered before a Mumbai court and a week later shifted to YCJ, Pune to serve the remainder of a five-year sentence after he was convicted in the March 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

Karisma Kapoor not ready for another film right now

Mumbai: After an unsuccessful comeback with `Dangerous Ishq` in 2012, Karisma Kapoor is not ready for another film, but doesn`t deny the possibility of signing a project in future.
"I have not decided anything yet. I have just released my book, and I enjoy doing different things. I like doing new things," the 39-year-old said when asked about her next big screen project.
"My children are still very small, but you never know, I will definitely do something, but I don`t know when," Karisma told reporters at the Globoil India Awards 2013 Saturday.
A mother of two, Karisma recently released `My Yummy Mummy Guide`, a book that doles out tips to pregnant women and new mothers.

Why did Sara Khan call Pratyusha Banerjee a back biter?

Just last month, we hear Sara Khan and Pratyusha Banerjee were seen enjoying at the latter’s birthday party. But in the glamour world it doesn’t take much time for things to turn ugly between two friends, hai na? Pratyusha, who is currently an inmate in the Bigg Boss 7 house, said that Sara is her ex-boyfriends best friend and not hers. This didn’t go down well with the former Bigg Boss contestant and she shot back at her once-upon-a-time-friend. “Yes, I was never Pratyusha’s best friend for she would always bitch about me to others. To be honest, she never had friends. Anyone she knew, she would talk bad about me to them and the news would come back to me” said Sara in an interview.
In fact, Prats even told her fellow inmate Kushal Tandon that it was Sara who asked her not to talk to him. But Ms Khan has a different story to stay. Clarifying what she said about Kushal, Sara said, “The real truth is that she would tell us before entering Bigg Boss that Kushal would keep calling her requesting her to be friends before they entered. All I had told her was, if you are not comfortable don’t talk to him, that’s it. She is telling Kushal that I am not comfortable with her talking to him. Why should I have any issue, I have a secure guy since the past one and half year and we are also living in.”
Interestingly, Hazel Keech, who got eliminated from the reality show this week, said that Pratyusha has a tendency of provoking people. Looks like Pratyusha has done her home work well before entering the show. She knows just being a Bigg Boss contestant won’t help her career. Obviously, to grab limelight, she has to make some noise (read controversy). And going by the events unfolding outside and inside the Bigg Boss house, wethinks this lass has succeeded in her mission.
But we still feel bitching about your good friend isn’t the ideal way to go about it! Prats, you already broke-up with your boyfriend Makrand Malhotra and now lost a friend as well. Not worth for any amount of fame, missy!

Not against nudity, not for exploitation: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra

Leh: He presents his heroines mostly as the girl-next-door with minimal makeup and a simplicity that screams emotions louder than the cacophony of item numbers. Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra says he is not against nudity in films, but he has strong views against exploitation of women.
"I don`t see art there," Mehra said while talking about the current trend of raunchy item songs.
"I am not against nudity. If that`s a part of the story, please go ahead. It`s beautiful...our bodies are beautiful. But exploitation for money and exploitation on the part of the audience and society for titillation...," added the filmmaker as he mulled over the matter while chatting on the breezy and picturesque banks of Indus river here. He was here for the second edition of Ladakh International Film Festival.
The need of the hour is for filmmakers to own up the "responsibility" of avoiding "gender bias", for actresses to make the right "choice" and for the audience to "stop watching" anything that stands to exploit anyone.
This, he agreed, all the more at a time when constant "concerns" are raised against showbiz for giving a fillip to the escalating number of rape cases in the country.
"Filmmakers and performers are a part of the society. There is no reason to objectify. The only reason as I can think of is the lust for glamour, and greed for money, and you also get eyeballs. That has to be discouraged," said the 50-year-old looking relaxed in a white shirt teamed with denims.
He practices what he believes in.
Be it Soha Ali Khan in "Rang De Basanti", or Sonam Kapoor in "Delhi-6" as well as in her not-so-meaty-but-mighty role in "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" - Mehra`s female protagonists have never had to resort to skin show or sexy numbers to leave an impact. The fact that it has worked proves his point.
"Cinema reflects whatever is going on, and not in a good way, I would say. And when there`s gender bias in cinema, it`s a shameful act. I hang my head in shame when I see that... whether I have done it or not, I belong to that community. One has to own the responsibility," he added.
Also, the onus lies on the performer hugely.
"Why is anyone doing it? Is there a necessity? Is there someone dying at home out of hunger? Are there younger siblings for whom you have to pay the school fees? ... so there`s no `majboori` factor here at all.
"If there is lust for glamour and it is a girl who is dancing out there, it`s her choice! If she refuses, and she can, then there is nothing anyone (either a filmmaker or the audience) can do," he said.
The audience, especially needs to take a stand, according to Mehra.
"Don`t watch it! Nobody is forcing you. Don`t buy that product, stop buying it, and if there are no takers, one won`t make it," he said.
Away from the reel life, in real life, we need to look at ourselves in the mirrors as an individual, as a family unit and educational institutions, said Mehra.
"And that`s how reform can begin. It`s not easy, it won`t happen overnight. It`s a slow process, but I am confident that it can be turned around, has to be turned around, it should be turned around," he added.
