HOLLYWOOD UPDATES
Inside Llewyn Davis
Far from the Madding Crowd
Mulligan will play the lead role of Bathsheba Everdene, a beautiful young woman who ends up in relationships with three very different men. Based on the novel by Thomas Hardy, we're not sure how the new adaptation will fare compared to the 1967 movie starring Julie Christie. The best part about the cast (other than Mulligan, of course), is Belgian hottie and Rust and Bone actor Matthias Schoenaerts. Fingers crossed that he plays one of the lovers.
Hold On To Me
We don't know too much about this next project, but we're excited to see Mulligan alongside Robert Pattinson, who's well on his way to shedding that Twilight image. Oscar-winner James Marsh is directing the film, and it looks like we can expect good things.
Although the actress hasn't said very much about her pregnancy, she did describe the arrival of her second child as "the biggest" and "the most wonderful" surprise. Berry will next appear in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, where she will reprise the role of Storm. The film is scheduled for a 2014 release. Martinez, meanwhile, can next be seen in the film The Physician, which is projected to hit theaters sometime this year.
Okay, Really: Who Is This Cara Delevingne?
She's BFFs With Rihanna
Spend five minutes on Rihanna's Instagram account and you'll be bombarded with images of her and Cara out and about, having more fun than (seemingly) anyone else. The same can be said for Delevingne's account. These two are truly best friends, which makes sense as they both have mastered the art of developing a kind of bad girl, #givesnof**ks attitude that only a supermodel and a pop star can really get away with.
The Anti-Model
Along with that bad-girl image comes with a real desire to destroy any pretty-girl image she might have garnered. Those super-thick, dark eyebrows help with that, but Delevingne's Instagram is full of screw-faces and weirdness, lest we confuse her with an emotion-less, boring supermodel.
Tyra Banks Considers Her To Be An Icon
A little while back the iconic Tyra Banks released a brilliant series of photos in which she posed as some of her favorite supermodels of all time (Kate Moss and Cindy Crawford included). The photo of her in Cara Delevingne-face was probably one of the most popular of the series, and definitely got folks excited about the young British model.
She's On Her Way To Becoming A Legitimate Actress
One little-known fact about Delevingne is that she actually had a small but significant role in the 2012 Oscar-winning film Anna Karenina. Delevingne played the marriage interest of Aaron Johnson's Count Vronsky, and she was absolutely gorgeous on screen. She's now making a serious break into acting, having expressed some interest in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, and now filming Kids In Love. We can all expect to see more of this beauty both on the catwalk and on the big screen.
MTV Renews 'The Challenge' For a 25th Unnecessary Season
It must be for the contestants, many of whom seem to be making their living solely by appearing on the show season after season. Why get a real job when you can get paid to drink yourself into oblivion on national television? If there's one person associated with this show who deserves to get rich, it's the post-production sound guy. That's a whole lot of "bleeps." Maybe we're getting old, but watching people well into their 30s tossing punches and slurred insults just makes us sad. Time to retire the giant foam jousting sticks, MTV.
Wear the right shade for hotter lips!
London: No one would want to wear the wrong lip colour, especially the ones that just divert attention from your shimmering pink lips to yellow teeth.
Vogue.in gives some tips on how to choose the right lip colour:
1. Pale pink: Instead of blah nudes that make teeth look more yellow, pick brightening shimmery pinks, says Marissa Nemes, a make up artist in Miami.
2. Sheer pink: A hydrating, see through gloss with a hint of a berry (versus orange-y versions like coral) counteracts subtle yellowing.
3. Light pink: Bolder than sheer glosses, these matte rose shades have just the right blue undertone to minimise yellowish tinges on teeth.
4. Bright pink: Whether bubble gum or fuchsia, these electric blue-based colours dramatically brighten, says Edward Cruz, a New York-based make up artist.
5. Bright red: Bold, opaque reds can make teeth appear up to two shades whiter, Nemes says. Apply two layers straight from the tube for a more intense effect.
6. Deep red: It`s little surprise that the classic femme fatale colour creates the ultimate sexy smile. Apply with your finger for a lasting stain-like finish.
The `Hannah Montana` star, who has been on a headline making spree with her controversial MTV VMA performance and the latest turn on Saturday Night Live, says she has no plans to revive her acting career.
During an extended version of `MTV`s Miley: The Movement`, the singer revealed she`s no longer interested in being a TV and movie star.
"I thought after my show I was gonna act. I did one movie and I came back and said, `I`m never doing that again. I`m going to do music for the rest of my life`," Cyrus said in the documentary about her acting stint on `So Undercover`.
The singer found fame as a Disney star with Hannah Montana, an image that she has been desperate to shed in recent times.
Cyrus, 20, feels `Bangerz` has given her the opportunity to reinvent her public persona.
"I`m starting as a new artist. That`s how I think of it," said Cyrus, who enjoyed box office successes with `The Last Song` and `Bolt`.
The 52-year-old actor portrays Cecil Gaines, a butler who served under eight US presidents in the new movie and he was delighted to work with director Daniels, reported Contactmusic.
"This is an amazing story about a butler who served eight presidents in the white house. You get to see the movement of the country and the times through his eyes, the love of his family, his wife and son, which is a very special unique opportunity.
"Lee Daniels is a really talented filmmaker so you put those two things together. The opportunity to work with Oprah Winfrey, because we had wanted to work together before, it`s evident that
I would be happy to join this project," he said.
The movie is loosely based on the life of Eugene Allen, who died in 2010 aged 90 and spent 34 years working in the White House until his retirement in 1986, and Forest hopes his portrayal honours his family.
"I didn`t meet him, I did talk to his family, his son, people who worked with him. I did study photos of him, his recordings and stuff, but ultimately I was inspired by him so I had the freedom to create a character that represented this man. I tried to do that while still honouring his family."
Perry, who is dating singer John Mayer, even sent a message to the `Harry Potter` star to contact her soon.
"Oh please, this isn`t the third grade. Just ring me, Daniel. Don`t be shy, or get your people to call mine if you like," thesun.co.uk quoted Perry as saying.
Although she is in a relationship, she would love to be good friends with Radcliffe.
"I am totally taken so it`s not about that. I think he`s cool and I`d really like to get to know him. We`ll all go out and party," she said.
Ellen Pompeo talks about Katherine Heigl's exit from show
Heigl, who played Izzie Stevens, made an exit from the show as she wanted to spend more time with her family and focus on her film career, reported Huffington Post.
"When Katie left, it was tough. You could understand why she wanted to go - when you`re offered USD 12 million a movie and you`re only 26," Pompeo said.
"But Katie`s problem is that she should not have renewed her contract. She re-upped, took a big raise and then tried to get off the show. And then her movie career did not take off," the 43-year-old actress added.
Heigl has done films like ‘Knocked Up’, ‘27 Dresses’, ‘The Ugly Truth’, ‘Killers’, ‘Life As We Know It’ and ‘New Year`s Eve’ among others.
`Grey`s Anatomy` is an American television medical drama that also stars "Made of Honor" actor Patrick Dempsey.
The show is currently showing its 10th season.
Currently, Saif is shooting in Britain’s capital for Sajid Khan’s ‘Humshakals’. Since he is tied up with his work commitments, it is Bebo who will be flying to be with her hubby dearest on October 10.
A daily reported Kareena as saying, “I’m flying there to be with him on our first anniversary.” And since both Bebo and Saifu are fond of presenting each other precious gifts, it is obvious that even on a special occasion like an anniversary Kareena has planned to gift something unique to her husband. “It could be a designer watch or something even more expensive and personal. I will not discuss the gift because I want to surprise him,” said Kareena, unwilling to reveal her plans.
Well, since Saif has a refined taste, finding the right gift must have been a daunting task for Kareena. All we are waiting to know is what really the Begum has picked for her Nawab.
A daily reports that all is not well on the sets of the film as the leading ladies have not warmed up to each other yet. Things were fine when the duo was filming ‘Raaz 3’ and things went on smoothly. According to the tabloid, the dusky babes manage to be cheerful before the cast and crew of the film, but their personal equation is not really writing home about.
The reason for the cold vibes being exchanged by Bips and Esha is that director Sajid Khan is favourably inclined towards the latter. This has not gone down well with Bipasha and thus the cold vibes between the actresses.
Sajid Khan, on his part, has denied the news as plain rumour. But even if we go by Sajid’s denials, we wonder what is really causing the rift between his leading ladies.
The film will be produced by Farhan and his partner Ritesh Sidhwani under their home banner Excel Entertainment Pvt Ltd, and is currently under scripting stage.
"SRK is doing the film. We are not sure when it will go on floors exactly but it will be next year. Shah Rukh is excited about the film but we need to work out the schedule as he has prior commitments," Ritesh said.
As for `Don 3`, the makers want to be sure that they have an exciting script in hand.
"With a franchise like `Don` and the character, it’s important to get excited by the script. Neither Shah Rukh, nor Farhan or me wants to get into making a film because there is excitement about it. We also want to be happy with the script if that happens then I would love to do it," he added.
On other films in pipeline, Ritesh said that `Fukrey 2` as well as Abhishek Kapoor`s `Rock On 2` is being scripted.
`Fukrey` released in June this year and was a hit. The comedy directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba had newcomers like Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadda, Vishakha Singh, and Priya Anand in lead roles.
"Mrig is thinking about it (sequel). With any sequel you need to be excited about where and how the story is taken ahead. He has got an idea and is working on it. If he`s excited about the story then he`ll present it to us," Ritesh said.
"It is a great film and people want to see it into a sequel. There are memorable characters in the film which you can take forward," he added.
Also, there are a couple of other films like Zoya`s next, reportedly on sibling relationship. There is a buzz that it will have Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and Priyanka Chopra but Ritesh did not reveal much.
"It’s an ensemble cast. We are waiting to get the actors finalised first, then make a formal announcement. There is speculation going on but we are not talking about the three people in the project. We will start filming in mid April next year," he added.
He is a giver: Wife on director Sanjay Gupta
"He is very family-oriented. He is very home-oriented. He loves doing up his home, loves keeping it clean and beautiful. He loves to look after people and entertain them," Anu, who was accompanying her husband on a holiday here, said in a chit-chat.
It`s not that their marriage was a bed of roses - they had their share of problems - but with time, they matured and now enjoy life with their two children, son Shivansh (two-plus) and daughter Dalai (10 months).
Asked about Sanjay`s role as a father, she said: "He is a very hands-on father. He was more hands-on with my son than my daughter. He is nervous about handling her because she is so delicate. He loves spending time with the children," she said.
"He is there every morning with them, looking after them and allowing me time to do what I want to do," she said.
Although Sanjay had a troubled childhood, Anu feels he "is going to be a great father".
"Coming from where Sanjay has, and seeing the childhood that he has experienced, I think he is going to make double the effort to give more to his children - not in terms of material things, but in terms of emotion and being there physically," she said.
Dropping Shivansh to playschool is part of Sanjay`s daily routine.
"That`s his time with his son and he enjoys it. In those aspects, he is a giver," added Anu.
However, when Sanjay is making a movie, he is unable to spend time with the family.
"When he is shooting, he is not there and he felt that more than we do. For the birth of my son, he hadn`t started shooting for `Shootout At Wadala` as yet and he was there all the time.
"But during Dalai he missed out on quite a bit of her upbringing. She was born in January and the film released in May and that was a crucial period for `Shootout At Wadala`," Anu said, adding that during the lean period they make up for it.
Sanjay and Anu met in college through common friends and married in 1997 after dating for about two-and-a-half-years. Adjustment issues saw them parting in 2003, but they sorted out their differences and remarried in 2009.
What do you appreciate in him the most and what do you dislike?
"He has not left me wanting for anything. Even in our hardest time, I didn`t even know we are going through a tough time till he told me much later. he has provided me very well.," said Anu, who is eight years younger than Sanjay.
"On the emotional level, very caring, but he could be more caring. I have kind of come to understand that seeing the background he has, he is limited. These are the things I didn`t think about.
"First time around why we separated was because I expected a lot from him as I am a very emotional and romantic person. This time around also, the first two-three years were hard on me because Sanjay as a person is not like that and I didn`t understand why he is unable to provide for me in that manner."
"I know he will never leave me wanting for anything. But emotionally I am kind of understanding that he is limited in that aspect. I am hoping his children will bring out what is left wanting in him in a relationship. I am hoping he is going to learn with his kids," said Anu.
Born and brought up in the south, Anu considers herself a south Indian and says that they were not exposed to the glamour world.
"So we have come from a humble background, have got our feet on the ground, I don`t have any fancy notions of anything and I am hoping my kids to be like that," she said.
Contented and confident, Anu says life is "much better because of better understanding. And I am hoping we both have matured."
The actor shot the film amid health issues.
"I think the character of Krrish has had the maximum impact on me than any other role that I have played in my life," said the actor at the launch of `Krrish 3` accessories here Saturday.
He plays the lead in the third installment of the franchise that began with 2003 hit sci-fi movie `Koi... Mil Gaya`.
"Through him I learnt that being a superhero is not really about wearing a mask or cape and flying through buildings....when I wear the jacket, there`s a mental shift that happens and I feel unstoppable, unbreakable," he added and said that he used to forget about his pain.
Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the film is set for a Nov 1 release. It also stars Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi in pivotal roles.
