Miley Cyrus' modesty surprised TV crew

Los Angeles: Singer Miley Cyrus impressed one and all with her down to earth nature when she appeared on the `Saturday Night Live` show.

Cyrus, who has been in the news for twerking on stage, posing naked in her video, was expected to be full of attitude, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"Everyone expected Miley to show up with major attitude - but were stunned when she turned out to be a major sweetheart," said a source.

"She went out of her way to be kind to everyone - just plain old nice - posing for pictures backstage and signing autographs for the crew," the source added.
Cyrus appeared on "Saturday Night Live" earlier this month.

Spice Girls stay connected: Mel B

London: Singer Melanie Brown says that even though her band Spice Girls has disbanded, all the members are very well connected with each other.

Apart from Brown, Geri Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Melanie Chisholm were part for the band, which performed for the last time at the closing ceremony of 2012 Olympics here.
"We`re all really good friends and supportive of what each other does," femalefirst.co.uk quoted Brown as saying.
"Emma`s got a great radio show in the UK, Mel C just released another single, Victoria`s got an amazing fashion line and Geri`s in Australia doing `Australia`s Got Talent`, so we`re all over the place, but very connected still," she added.

Eva Mendes cheating on Ryan Gosling?

London: Actress Eva Mendes has reportedly been cheating on her boyfriend Ryan Gosling with filmmaker George Augusto.

The actress is allegedly not ready to fulfill Gosling`s dreams of marriage and having kids at this point of time, reported Showbiz spy.

"Eva has been arranging trysts with George Augusto, the Peruvian filmmaker she dated from 2002 to 2010 and who is also her business partner in the Vida homewares line.

"Ryan`s friends know he is ready to settle down, 100 per cent... Eva loves Ryan, but she`s very nontraditional when it comes to what she wants. She`s phobic about commitment. That`s the root of the problem," a source said.

From Taylor Swift To Childish Gambino: 5 Tracks You Need To Hear This Week

Taylor Swift performs at LP Field on day 1 of the 2013 CMA Music Festival Featuring: Taylor Swift Where: Nashville, TN, United States When: 06 Jun 2013 Credit: Judy Eddy/WENN.comFrom an unlikely but inspired superstar collaboration to a tribute to a talent show winner, here's a look at five of the best new tracks to have been unveiled over the past seven days.

Taylor Swift – "Sweeter Than Fiction"
America's sweetheart confesses her unlikely admiration for Britain's Got Talent's winner Paul Potts on a peppy '80s-tinged slice of bubblegum pop co-written with fun.'s Jack Antanoff specifically for the opera sensation's equally unlikely big-screen biopic.

Lady Gaga feat. R. Kelly – "Do What U Want"
Just when the whole ARTPOP campaign appeared to be on the verge of disaster, Gaga pulls this instantly addictive synth-led R&B riposte to the press out of the bag to prove that when she's on form, there are few better superstars out there.

Chromeo – "Sexy Socialite"
An utterly ridiculous but highly enjoyable Prince-esque jam, the second single from their fourth album White Women only re-affirms Chromeo's status as electro-funk's most endearing goofballs.

Dido – "NYC"
The hits may have dried up but as with last year's return-to-form, Girl Who Got Away, Dido once again shows she's far from a spent force with a shimmering electro number worthy of sitting alongside the likes of "Here With Me" and "White Flag" on her forthcoming Greatest Hits.

Childish Gambino - "3005"
Suggesting anything Drake can do, Childish Gambino can do just as well, the Community star does his best Drizzy impression on an engaging blend of futuristic synths, sparse funk beats and introspective but still typically witty lyrics.

Lady Gaga bares all for new single artwork

London: Lady Gaga has stripped naked for the artwork of her upcoming single `Venus`.

The three artwork covers that the 27-year-old singer posted on Twitter, shows her topless with a scorpion balanced on her head in one pic, in another she is seen standing naked with a kebab where her mouth would be, while the third shows a pic of a bat, Metro.co.uk reported.
The covers for her latest ARTPOP single are the results of collaboration with designer Steven Klein, who had earlier worked with Gaga on the visuals for Alejandro.
The `Poker Face` hitmaker is expected to perform Venus for the first time on `The X Factor`.

Jennifer Lawrence got sick, halted shoot

Los Angeles: Actress Jennifer Lawrence reportedly had to halt the shooting of her movie when she fell nauseous.

The 23-year-old was shooting for upcoming movie `The Hunger Games: Mockingjay` with co-star Liam Hemsworth when it happened. She was shooting for a special effects pool, where she was being hit by simulated strong waves, and the motion made her feel sick, reports contactmusic.com.

"Suddenly shouting that she was going to be sick, Jen ordered the special effects guys to stop rocking the boat," National Enquirer magazine quoted a source as saying.
The actress returned to her dressing room to recover and returned to shoot the scene shortly.

I'm pretty cool with my body: Daniel Radcliffe

London: `Harry Potter` star Daniel Radcliffe says he is getting comfortable with his body as he is growing older.

Radcliffe, 24, said he has become an obsessive gym-goer after doing `Horns`, reported Digital Spy.

"`I`m quite cool with my body, more so as I get older actually. When I did Kill Your Darlings, I was just skin and bone. I`m a lot stronger right now.
"I did this movie Horns last year and the director asked me to get to the gym. I did and now I`m an obsessive gym-goer," he said.
The actor will next be seen in new film `Kill Your Darlings`, where he has got some raunchy scenes.
"It`s definitely a lot easier on film than it is on stage. I`m not too fussed about the nudity stuff. If you take the job, you sign up for what you read in the script. You can`t then get to the set and suddenly have a freak out and say, `I can`t do this`."

Jack Sparrow Hawks Nail Polish: Weirdest Movie Make-Up Tie-Ins

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Ties
A nail polish collection inspired by Burlesque, we understand. The glitz, the glam, our fleeting interest in the Christina Aguilera vehicle – all perfect for a Limited Edition run of shades. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, on the other hand? That's a stretch. Cosmetics companies and studios are teaming up more and more often to market tie-in collections. Some make sense, but even more are weirdly incompatible.

The Amazing Spider-Man Nail Polish
In 2012, repeat movie tie-in offender O.P.I. released a collection of colors inspired by the Spidey reboot. A little incongruous, sure, but names like "My Boyfriend Scales Walls" and "Just Spotted the Lizard" make up for it.

Covergirl and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
In The Hunger Games, the dramatic make-up and clothing worn in the Capitol represent the detioration of society by materialism and the intense economic disparity in Panem. So, clearly, a make-up line celebrating that glamour (which, again, represents the status quo that Katniss and the District rebels are uniting to take down) totally works. (It doesn't work.)

The Muppets Nail Polish
When you want your laquered digits to conjure up images of felt-covered frogs, bears, and whatever Gonzo is, O.P.I. has the collection for you. On the other hand, The Muppets are just the best, so why not?

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and NYX
A line inspired
by a YA-lit film adaptation isn't too crazy, but unfortunately, NYX bet on the wrong horse. The movie bombed at the box office, wiping away hopes for a Twilight-style juggernaut franchise. Cute gloss though.

Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides Nail Polish
At this point, we wouldn't be surprised if Johnny Depp himself swept into the O.P.I. offices and mixed these colors himself. We'd say that pirates and make-up don't mix, but Captain Jack's expertly smudged eyeliner would beg to differ.

Producer Shilpa Shetty excited for her gangster film

Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shetty is quite excited about her upcoming film `Dishkiyaaoon`, which is set in the backdrop of Mumbai underworld.

Shilpa has donned producer`s hat for the film, which stars Sunny Deol, Harman Baweja and debutante Ayesha Khanna.
"It is full-on masala entertainer. It is an interesting film on underworld, imagine Shilpa Shetty making a film on Mumbai underworld, it sounds bizarre. But I loved the script. It is the story of a guy who wants to make it as a gangster... the struggle of this one guy. It is an emotional story. It has beautiful songs," Shilpa said in an interview.
Many underworld films these days are inspired by real-life gangsters from Dawood Ibrahim to Manya Surve. But Shilpa is not willing to share who the protagonist of her film is based on.
"I can`t comment on that" was all she said.
The film is set to release on January 10 next year. Reportedly, Sunny Leone-starrer `Ragini MMS 2` is likely to release on the same day.
"We are not shifting the release date. I would be worried if an action film would have got released (simultaneously), ours is an action entertainer and `Ragini MMS 2` is a horror film and there is space for every film," she said.
There is a buzz about sequel to her hit film `Dhadkan`.
"Obviously I can`t do it. Ratan Jain (producer) is looking forward to do the film and I wish him all the best," she said.
Acting is not her priority now as she wants to be with
her son Viaan. "I would not work (act) for another one and half years as it is the most crucial time with my child. I don`t miss acting.... There is no time to miss it as there is so much happening in my life these days. I do few things on-screen for creative satisfaction," Shilpa said.
"I can`t be unfair to a film and I don`t want to be unfair to my filmmakers. I can`t live without my child.
"Every day he is saying something new, he is doing something crazy. Now he has got this obsession of beach. Every day is a new thing, new day and I don`t want to miss any single moment with him," she said.

Subhash Ghai set to direct Salman Khan, again

The director of hits like `Karz`, `Saudagar` and `Khalnayak`, said: "Salman is a family to me. He said he would like to remake my film and I said go ahead. He said how much should I pay you and I told him, you just make the film. It`s very simple."

Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri played the lead roles in the original, while Aditya Pancholi`s son Sooraj and Suniel Shetty`s daughter Athiya are expected to feature in the remake.

Ranbir excited to work with Govinda in 'Jagga Jasoos'

Mumbai: `Jagga Jasoos` will bring together 1990s hit star Govinda, known for his dance and comic timing, and current heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor together on the screen as father-son and Ranbir is quite excited to see `Hero No. 1` as his on-screen dad.
Ranbir said: "I am very excited about the film because we all somewhere have been influenced by Govinda as an actor and dancer. For me, he playing my step-father is really an exciting opportunity for me."
"I hope with `Jagga Jasoos`, we can give him the right platform to his talent," added the 31-year-old.
`Jagga Jasoos` marks Ranbir`s foray into production, but the Kapoor scion doesn`t feel any pressure.
"I don`t have any pressure as a producer. I am working with Anurag Basu again and we have certain ideology about films. We are here to make a good and entertaining film," said the actor whose last film `Besharam` fell flat at the box office.
This will be Ranbir`s second film with Basu post the success of `Barfi!`, and he will team up with Katrina Kaif again in the film after `Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani`.

Superstars do not guarantee success: Rajkumar Yadav

Mumbai: Rajkumar Yadav, whose film `Shahid` on human rights lawyer Shahid Azmi recently hit screens, feels that having a superstar on board for promoting or presenting a movie does not necessarily guarantee success.

Much before the film released superstar Aamir Khan had seen the trailer of the film and decided to support the movie.
The actor-filmmaker had also posted the film trailer on his official Facebook page.
"Every film has its own destiny. We were happy when he (Aamir) supported our film. But I feel having a superstar doesn?t guarantee success. We have seen in the past films of superstar have not done well commercially.. So there is no guarantee. We are proud of the film," he told reporters.
The 29-year-old played the central character of Shahid in Hansal Mehta`s film which released on October 18 and was made at a budget of Rs 86 lakh and has approximately earned Rs 3.40 crore.
"We were confident while making the film. We are happy with the response that we are getting for `Shahid` and my hard work is appreciated. Even Shahid Azmi`s family have liked the film?it feels nice. Commercial success is definitely important for any actor but I would want both respect and commercial success of films," he added.
The actor agrees that the recently concluded Mumbai
Academy of Moving Images (MAMI) did hamper the business of `Shahid` as movie buffs were busy watching films at the festival here.
But he also seems optimistic as the film is still running in cinema houses and audiences can go and watch it.
Raj Kumar will be seen next opposite Kangana Ranaut in `Queen`, a comedy-drama directed by Vikas Bahl and `City Lights` by Ajay Bahl of `B A Pass` fame.
"In `Queen` Kangana and I play a couple who later have some problem in their relationship. It is a sweet, cute love story. I had great time working with her, she is nserior to me work wise but she never made me feel it. He made me feel comfortable and respects my work. She is talented and grounded and I think `Queen` is going to be her best film and performance," Raj Kumar said.
"`City Lights` is about a couple from a small town of Himachal Pradesh coming to Mumbai. I am looking forward to both the films," he added.

If I attempt a 'DDLJ', I'll fail: Tigmanshu Dhulia

New Delhi: Be it the ravines of Chambal Valley in `Paan Singh Tomar` or the murky lanes of Ghaziabad in `Shagird`, Tigmanshu Dhulia`s films have been rooted deeply in the interiors of India and he admits he doesn`t have a knack of making films like `Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge` that require glamorous locations and pretty faces.

Having grown up in Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, the filmmaker tries to incorporate his small-town experience in his cinematic presentation.
"I come from this kind of background and I know it well. To say that I will make a film like `Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge`(DDLJ), I will fail at it," Dhulia said in an exclusive interview.
High on grit and determination, the director wasn`t deterred from his chosen path even when his earlier films like `Haasil`, `Charas` and `Shagird` didn`t do much at the box office.
Finally, recognition came his way.
First it was with the success of his crime saga `Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster` franchise and later he cemented it with Irrfan starrer `Paan Singh Tomar`, about the former national steeplechase champion-turned-bandit. It fetched him a National Award.
" `Paan Singh Tomar` was a game changer for me. Things are way easier for me now," admits Dhulia.
With the recognition came also opportunities of working in films with bigger budgets and a starry cast.
His forthcoming `Bullett Raja` is in that league - focussing on mafia based in Uttar Pradesh, the film starring Saif Ali Khan in the title role.
"When you know the budget of a film will be more than Rs.50 crore, then you require a star. This is economics...you need a star for these kinds of films," said Dhulia who is eagerly waiting for the release of `Bullett Raja` that has another star, Sonakshi Sinha, in the cast.
"When we were writing `Bullett Raja`, we knew what kind of scale we are looking at and what kind of budget the film will require," he added.
Many feel that the stars come with their specified image, but Dhulia argues that the trend is changing.
"Cinema is changing and stars are willing and ready to experiment with different images. They don`t just want to continue doing what they are doing. They are also ready to change and experiment with different characters," he said.
The filmmaker is aware that there is no secret to success in the industry.
Dhulia feels that franchises work well with the audience.
"I feel that franchises work. There is so much competition in the market that everyone is using it now. Hollywood is also functioning because of franchises. As long as your work is original, there is nothing wrong with it," he said.
Filmmaking is a tricky skill, he says.
"You have to strike a balance between your creative satisfaction and the producer`s satisfaction as well. `Bullett Raja` justifies both. The film is all about attitude...but the scenes and dialogues also have some weight as well," he said.
