Angelina Jolie's opening scenes in 'Maleficent' to be re-shot

Los Angeles: Actress Angeline Jolie`s introductory scenes in Robert Stromberg`s debut film ‘Maleficent’ will be re-shot. The makers have roped in ‘The Blind Side’ filmmaker John Lee Hancock to oversee the shoot.

Contactmusic.com reports that producer Joe Roth told The Hollywood Reporter that it was good to have Hancock on the set of the film.
"We asked (Hancock) to be on set. He`s not directing. He wrote pages and I hired a first-time director and it`s good to have him on set," he said.
The actress plays the sleeping beauty`s evil nemesis in the upcoming project, which will tell the ‘Sleeping Beauty’ tale from the perspective of the villainous Maleficent.

MEANT TO BE' PROVES TLC CAN CUT IT WITHOUT LEFT EYE
T-Boz and Chilli of TLC in their last concert as a group, following the death of member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes last year. (Photo by KMazur/WireImage)Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' playful lyrical flow was so integral to TLC's classy R&B sound that it seemed unthinkable that T-Boz and Chilli would be able to carry on as a duo following her tragic death in 2002.
However, apart from their misguided reworking of "Waterfalls" with Japanese pop star Namie Amuro, the pair have managed to move forward but without destroying their legacy with a series of sporadic releases over the last decade.
First there was 3D, the dignified studio swansong which combined their final recordings with the late rapper with new acoustic-flavored material ("Damaged," "Turntable") which stood up to the best of CrazySexyCooland FanMail.
Then came a handful of vibrant, if inessential, collaborations especially recorded for hits compilation, Now and Forever, ("I Bet" with R U The Girl winner O'so Krispie, "Come Get Some" with Sean Paul & Lil Jon), well-received sets at the Justin Timberlake & Friends benefit concert and the 2011 American Idol finale and an engaging take on "Rainbow" for a tribute album to Japanese rock band L'Arc~En~Ciel.
However, it's only in 2013 that the twosome appear to have come around to the idea of a proper full-time comeback. In April, they revealed they were thinking of using the same hologram technology that resurrected Tupac at Coachella to go on tour with their late bandmate. In July, they performed at the Mixtape Festival with Lil Mama, the rapper who plays Lopes in the upcoming VH1 biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story. Meanwhile an inspired hook-up with J. Cole on "Crooked Smile" took them back into the US Hot 100 for the first time since 2003.
Rumoured to be working on a brand new studio album for 2014, the duo also unveiled the only newly-recorded track this week from their latest retrospective, 20. Co-written with Ne-Yo, "Meant To Be" is a touching mid-tempo about weathering the storms which cleverly fits in with the current 90s R&B revival scene. And while TLC will never be the same without Left Eye, it's the latest example of how T-Boz and Chilli still have plenty to offer.

Paris Hilton faces embarrassment on-air over 'sex tape'

Wellington: Paris Hilton was reportedly embarrassed on a radio show, after she abused the host on-air.

Hilton, who called into Raleigh, North Carolina`s Bob Dumas and the Showgram radio show to promote her new single `Good Time,` mistakenly called him an "a*shole" after he asked her about her sex tape, Stuff.co.nz reported.
In an audio file, Dumas is heard asking the `Turn It Up` hitmaker if she regretted making a sex tape like Kim Kardashian , to which Hilton replied that it had nothing to do with her and her former beau Rick Salomon was to be blamed.
Hilton, who remained on line through the three-minute interview, didn`t realise she was still on air when she slammed the host. The 32-year-old TV personality was heard fuming at her handler that she was never coming back on the radio show, as the host was a "f**king a*shole" and didn`t even mention her song.
Her handler said that he had already put in a call to them, as he couldn`t believe they brought that crap up, while the DJ was heard Dumas laughing in the background with his team before the call ended.

Miley Cyrus wished she had kept strippers' numbers from engagement party

Melbourne: Miley Cyrus confessed on `The Ellen DeGeneres Show` that keeping one of the stripper`s number when she had last appeared on the show, would have come in handy now, News.com.au reported.

The `Wrecking Ball` hitmaker` also opened up about her split with fiancé Liam Hemsworth saying that it wasn`t as awkward because she was living with the fact.
She believes that when a chapter is done, one has to close it and start a new one.

People think more about my split than I do: Miley Cyrus

Los Angeles: Pop star Miley Cyrus says that she barely thinks about her split from actor Liam Hemsworth and it is others who talk more than her.

The former ‘Hannah Montana’star began dating Hemsworth after they met on the set of ‘The Last Song’ in 2009 and got engaged in June last year, but they announced last month that the romance is over, reports contactmusic.com.

Cyrus has kept largely quiet about the split but she spoke about it during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and told the host: "It`s not really as awkward (as it seems) because I`m living it. So, I think people spend more time actually thinking about it than I really do."

PARKS AND RECREATION' RECAP: MEET THE EAGLETON VERSIONS OF RON, APRIL, AND DONNA (SEASON 6, EPISODE 3)
PARKS AND RECREATION -- "Doppelgangers" Episode 604 -- Pictured: (l-r) Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, Rashida Jones as Ann Perkins -- (Photo by: Colleen Hayes/NBC)
Parks and Recreation is determined to come up with a season long arc, and so far, Leslie's (Amy Poehler) idea for a merger with rival town Eagleton is proving to be a good one. This week, the department took on their Eagleton counterparts in order to learn the lay of the land. Ultimately, the episode feels a little light because no matter how much we may want to see more of the Eagleton Parks Department, there was no way the cast was going to double in size, but the conceit was funny enough that it doesn't matter whatsoever.
April (Aubrey Plaza) is back to full agent-of-chaos mode, first rebranding Jerry (whose actual name is Gary) as "Larry Gengrich," and then torturing her doppleganger, Tynnyfer (June Diane Raphael) by mimicing her vapid cluelessness and tricking her into quitting her job and breaking into Dwayne Wade's house in Miami. Ron (Nick Offerman) slowly realizes that his counterpart, played by Sam Elliott and also named Ron, might be another mustachioed man of few words with a love of the outdoors, but while Ron is a libertarian suvivalist and meat-lover, Eagleton Ron is a vegan enviornmental crusader and nut nut ("They make wonderful milks"). They go from instant friends to instant enemies, and it's nice to see the slow build of things our Ron hates coming out of an increasingly gleeful Alterna-Ron's mouth. The only downside to so many great day players was that aside from Leslie's attempts to figure out who to fire, we didn't get to see any of our usual inter-character chemisty. Tom (Aziz Ansari), in particular, was stranded alone in his struggle to conceal that his doppleganger was a super-efficient computer program called E.R.I.C by constructing a fictional drug-dealing, racist, messy jerk identity for Eric who does, indeed, get fired.
And despite all these machinations, Leslie would have never fired someone from the main cast tonight, not just because they are under contract for the rest of the season, but because after recieving the news that Chris (Rob Lowe) and Ann (Rashida Jones) are planning to move out of Pawnee, she becomes hyper loyal, panicking about the loss of a friend by hanging on desperately to her employees, even attempting to get them to sign a Loyalty Agreement that binds them to the town for 50 years. Though Ann tries to soften the bad news with a plate of waffles and a picture of a shirtless Joe Biden riding a horse, Leslie still feels betrayed.
If only things were as easy as they are for Chris and Ben (Adam Scott), who have become close again over the last few episodes but dealt with the news in a mature and kind way. But Leslie's panic is understandable and totally in character. Additionally, Ann is pretty much nowhere to be found in what should have been a much bigger episode for her. Even as Leslie constantly reminds us how they are best friends who love working together, she spends far more time seeking advice from Ron and working with the rest of the department. If there was ever a time to show their friendship and its tightness, it was here. And with Pawnee becoming extreme in its unhealthiness (Chris orders a "salad" filled with gummy worms, cheese, a gumball, and toffee) and this merger giving her a natural break in her job, it's hard to tell exactly how she feels about leaving or about starting a new life with Chris. While it does seem best for the show to lose Ann as Ben becomes a more logical anchor in Leslie's life, that doesn't mean Ann should be unceremoniously shipped off. And the abrupt ending of the episode, which cuts to black just as Ann and Leslie sit down to talk, felt confusing, as the audience doesn't really know the answers to what they're talking about. Hopefully, next week we'll get a chance to hang out with both characters as they think about how to say goodbye.

REVIEW: CARLO CARLEI'S 'ROMEO AND JULIET' IS NICE TO LOOK AT, BUT BORING TO WATCH
_MG_5829.CR2
The latest adaptation of Romeo and Juliet gives us a traditional retelling of the well-known tale of passionate lovers... minus the passion. Somehow the film turns a forbidden love story, which is inherently exciting, into a rather bland and unmemorable take on Shakespeare's play. Lacking the intensity that the story calls for, this version of Romeo and Juliet fails to excite.
Assuming that the audience knows the play well enough, the film follows two youngsters, Romeo (Douglas Booth) and Juliet (Hailee Steinfeld), who are destined to never be together because of their feuding families, and explains little else. Director Carlo Carlei (The Flight of the Innocent) wants us to believe in their whirlwind romance, but the film is never able to successfully pull the audience into the supposedly heart-wrenching tale because of the lack of chemistry between Booth and Steinfeld. Steinfeld has difficulty pulling off Shakespeare's prose, Booth comes off as a neurotic boy-band heartthrob who speaks the dialogue well but doesn't seem to know what he's saying, and the both of them together play the part of star-crossed lovers, but with a veil of insincerity. Disappointingly, the story, which is meant to sweep us off our feet and make us believe that these two strangers love each other enough to die for the other, leaves us wondering why they're even together in the first place.
The restrained, and often times awkward romance is further watered down by screenwriter Julian Fellowes' (Downton Abbey) decision to streamline the dialogue and Carlei's lukewarm take on the tale. The intention was to stay faithful to the original Romeo and Juliet — like Franco Zeffirelli's 1968 adaptation did — and at the same time be as fresh as Baz Luhrmann's version with Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio (so as to be hip with the younger generation), but instead it comes off as a dumbed-down take of the classic story.
While the film's leads lack chemistry, its older, supporting cast excels. With the likes of Paul Giamatti (Friar Laurence) and Homeland's Damian Lewis (Lord Capulet) — two actors who have had their fair share of experience with Shakespeare — gracing the cast with their dominating performances, the gap between the actors who have come ready to do Shakespeare's words justice, and those who have not, is quite clear. Save for Kodi Smit-McPhee's (The Road) endearing take on Benvolio, Romeo's cousin, the strongest performances generally come from the older cast members.
As for the scenery, Carlei chose to film the movie where it was set: Verona and Mantua. Unfortunately, the background is oftentimes so beautiful that it distracts from the acting, which truth be told, is probably not something to brag about.
With a new adaptation on our hands, it’s a shame that it doesn’t stand out from the rest. Yes, every generation deserves its own Romeo and Juliet, but if we have to wait almost two decades to see it, it better be worth the wait.

MATT DAMON AND BEN AFFLECK TO PRODUCE SITCOM FOR CBS

DOGMA, from left: Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, 1999, Lions Gate Films/courtesy Everett Collection
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck might be Hollywood's most famous best friends. They grew up together, broke into Hollywood together, and even won Oscars together. And now, they will attempt to conquer the small screen together. The pair is set to executive produce a new comedy for CBS titled More Time with Family. Starring comedian Tom Papa, the show will focus on a man who changes his career path and stops spending so much time on the road in order to spend more time with his family, only to find out that it wasn't something that anyone else wanted. The idea was reportedly inspired by both Papa's stand up routine and Damon's personal experiences.
Damon and Papa conceived the idea when the two worked on The Informant and Behind the Candelabra together, and then teamed up with Affleck to produce. Affleck and Damon's joint production company, Pearl Street, is also set to produce The Middle Man for Fox, a Boston-set period crime drama. Affleck is also set to direct the pilot. There's no word yet on whether or not More Time With Family will also take place in Boston, or if its Oscar-winning producers will make a guest appearance. Although, if Affleck is too busy filming Superman Vs. Batman, we're sure Mindy Kaling would be willing to fill his shoes again.
Damon can next be seen in The Monuments Men with George Clooney, which will be released on December 18. Affleck can currently be seen threatening Justin Timberlake in Runner Runner, and is filming Gone Girl with David Fincher.

THE WOMEN OF 'PERSON OF INTEREST' ARE NO SHRINKING VIOLETS
"Baby Blue" -- When The Machine spits out the number of a 6-month-old baby, Reese and Finch turn into overly protective parents - with an arsenal at their disposal. Meanwhile, when Elias resurfaces, Detective Carter (Taraji P. Henson) begins to question her new allegiance with Reese and Finch, on PERSON OF INTEREST, Thursday, March 8 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Photo: John P. Filo/CBS ?©2012 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.CBS
When you watch a show, there's a good chance you'll see at least one woman who is there solely to be rescued by a man. Person of Interesttakes that idea and stomps on it. This past week's episode had not one, not two but three women, heck, even four if you count one of the villains, who could dismantle a man even before he knew what was happening.
First,we have Joss Carter, a police detective who was busted down to patrolwoman due to a inside crime ring within the police department having a grudge against her getting too close to solving what is going on. She's a tough, no-nonsense woman who is a single mother to a child.Taraji P. Henson imbues her with a fierceness but also a soft side underneath that and is capable of being 'girly' if she has to be.
Then there is Zoe Morgan. She plays a 'fixer' of sorts. If someone or a company is in trouble, she comes in and does what she needs to do. Originally she was one of the people that the Machine designated as someone Reese and Finch needed to save, but she proved more than capable of handling herself and has come in on several of their other cases. She and Reese seem to have a no-strings attached sexual relationship. There's definitely chemistry between the actress, Paige Turco, and Jim Caviezel, who plays Reese. It's not like she sits around and waits for him to call, though.
Rounding off the 'good guys' is Samantha Shaw, who is the least feminine out of them (despite being played by the charming Sarah Shahi). She's a former paramilitary officer who tracked down terrorists before she was recruited by Finch and Reese. She's the wild card out of the bunch - an admitted sociopath who can kill people without compunction. In one of the more recent episodes, she had to be coached by Carter and Morgan about expressing her femininity. I believe the phrase, "Smile!" was used more than once.
In the bad guy camp, Amy Acker has been playing an enigmatic hacker who goes by the name Root. She's been a particular thorn in Finch's side since the end of the first season and it looks like she just escaped her confinement again. She always has things under control and even wound up shooting a veteran assassin at the end a recent episode. There was a tinge of regret in her voice when she found out she had to spare the assassin. It's going to be interesting to see Shaw find Root again since the two had a very unique first introduction where Root tortured Shaw (who actually seemed to be enjoying it).
So.. remember the saying, "You wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley"? Well, we can say the same for these women.

Member of Aamir Khan film crew arrested

New Delhi: A unit director of Aamir Khan`s upcoming movie ‘PK’ has been arrested for hurting religious sentiments during the shooting of a scene for the film, police said Friday.
The film crew member, whose name police refused to reveal, was arrested Wednesday and a case was registered against him after locals objected to a scene in which a man dressed as Lord Shiva was pulling a rickshaw in which two burqa-clad women were sitting.
"A case under section 295 A (injuring or defiling place of worship with intent to insult the religious of any class) and 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered against the unit director and the three actors at Kotwali police station," said a police official.
The unit members were shooting the scene in Chandni Chowk area Wednesday.
Initially, people thought the actors were members of a Ram Leela party but on seeing cameras, they inquired about the issue.
The actors told police that it was a dream sequence of the movie and they had all the legal documents and permission for shooting.
But a mob that gathered at the police station started shouting slogans that the film-makers were hurting religious sentiments, forcing police to take action.
The officer said that no case has been registered against Aamir Khan.

Drashti Dhami strikes gold, to do a film?

Mumbai: Popular TV actress Drashti Dhami might be the lucky one to romance Bollywood heavyweight Ajay Devgn in his next.
The pretty lass, who is currently essaying the role of Madhubala in a popular TV daily soap is reportedly being considered to play the lead opposite Devgn by Rohit Shetty for ‘Singham 2’.
‘Singham’ starring Devgn and south sensation Kajal Agarwal went on to become a super-hit film and a sequel to the film was in the pipeline.
And hence Shetty is on the verge of finalising the leading lady of his film.
Drashti had recently won the finale of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, a dance reality show judged by Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar and Remo D’Souza. The beauty had won the hearts of a number of celebrity guests who had made their presence felt on the show. Many had even said that Drashti has the potential to make it big in the world of cinema.
And if all goes well, fans of Drashti might get to see her sizzle on the silverscreen.
Here’s wishing the girl all the very best.

Jiah Khan suicide case: Don’t want to comment on anything, says Aditya Pancholi

Mumbai: Actor Aditya Pancholi in an exclusive interview to Zee News said that he will wait for the court’s verdict on the Jiah Khan Suicide case.
The actress’s mother, Rabbiya had moved Bombay High Court stating that her daughter did not commit suicide but was murdered. Jiah, who was launched by Ram Gopal Varma opposite Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Nishabd’ was found hanging at her Juhu apartment on June 3.
Jiah was in a relationship with Aditya’s son Sooraj. The actress’s mother is determined to prove that her daughter did not commit suicide.
However, while talking to Zee News, Aditya said, “I do not want to comment on anything right now as it might affect the case. Let the law take its own course. We know what the truth is and I know my son is innocent. But for the moment it is better to say the least.”
The petition filed by Rabbiya alleges that Jiah may have been hanged after being killed. It cites some reasons to support this theory.
The petition says that a person who commits suicide would have his or her eyes popping and tongue protruding out, while in the case of Jiah it was not so. Also, in such cases lung or brain haemorrhage is generally noticed, but in this case this was not observed.
The petition further says that besides ligature marks that occur in death due to hanging, injury marks were noticed on Jiah`s face and body. An injury was noticed on the right side of her lips and a mark on her left arm suggested as if someone had held her tightly.
While police claimed that Jiah had hanged herself with a muslin `dupatta`, forensic expert Dr R N Jerajani opined that the depth of ligature marks in Jiah`s case was difficult to achieve with a soft material.
Dr Jerajani has further opined that the ligature marks on Jiah`s neck are not like the ones usually found on the body of a person who hangs self from a ceiling fan. The possibility of strangulation is not ruled out in this case, he said in the forensic report.
The petition further said that CCTV camera footage showed that Jiah had entered her house a few minutes before she committed suicide. At that time, she was wearing a track suit but her body was discovered in a night gown. Would a person about to commit suicide change her dress, the petition asks?
Moreover, the ceiling fan was located in between two single beds and it was not possible for Jiah to hang herself without a stool and there was no stool in her house.
There is a window in Jiah`s room at a low level in the first-floor flat. This window was found open although air-condition machine was on at the time of the incident, the petition said, adding that the window could have been used to gain entry into the room.
Jiah’s boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi, who Rabbiya believes is responsible for her death, was arrested on charges of abetting her suicide, but was released on bail after serving 21 days in jail in the month of June.

'War Chhod Na Yaar' review: Brave concept, engaging war satire

Political satires are easily the most difficult genre of comedy in cinema. They have to serve up a telling lesson to self-serving politicians while providing audiences with a good laugh. We had Kunal Roy Kapur attempting one of `dose` in ‘The President Is Coming’.But that`s it. Full credit to writer-director Faraz Haider for going into the war zone and emerging from the battle-scarred scenario with his sense of humour intact.
War satires are extinct in a country that takes cross-border matters dead seriously. Though ‘War Chhod Na Yaar’ is a very one-sided view of barbed-wire offences, it does nevertheless fire some mirthful missiles at politicians on both sides who make mileage out of the mythical animosity between the two countries. In the middle of the crackling tension of Indo-Pak differences, there suddenly comes the cackling sound of loud laughter breaking the eerie silence of the desertscape where ammunition is aimed at both ends.
Sitting in No Man`s Land across the barbed fence are the two squadron leaders from both ends played smartly by Sharman Joshi and Jaaved Jaffrey playing cards, exchanging jokes and making light of one another`s country`s ongoing burden of being border-line belligerent. That the film is shot in the Rajashtan deserts serves the film`s locational purpose creating a battle-ground realistically, if not opulently.
Faraz Haider has scripted a plot that tickles border-line tension. There are passages of breezy bantering between Joshi and Jaffrey. Both actors possess subtle acting skills that they put here to potent use as two army-men who bond across the border even as war escalates overnight. The soldierly bonding over the barbed wires is a heartening thought, not quite executed with the finesse that, say, J.P. Dutta would have invested into his border-line satire.
‘War Chhod Na Yaar’ is a film with a large heart. `Hate war, not the warrior` seems to be the subtitled slogan of this anti-war satire. Rather than taking long shots of battleground images mercifully, the debutant director goes easy on the gunshots and preaches to focus more on the personal interaction between soldiers from both sides. The cross-border antakshari culminating in the Pakistanis crooning ‘Yeh mera India, I love my India’ is a cleverly designed episode, though much too obvious an effort at taming the enemy.
Then there is a sequence where Indian soldiers unleash a poultry of roosters across the barbed fence to trap their opponents.
Barb re barb!
The problem creeps into the blithe narrative when the Pakistani army men and politicians are shown largely as bumbling imbeciles, if not outright jokers. Dalip Tahil`s triple role as the Pakistani president, the Chinese premiere (whose native tongue is translated into Punjabi in Navjot Singh Sidhu`S voice) and the American President`s yankee-accented aide, ceases to be funny beyond a point.
Not that this sort of standup comedy material renders itself effectively to cinematic laughter in the first place. Nonetheless, credit must go to the writer-director for attempting to show the utter futility and the underlining farce that define cross-border aggression.
Some episodes in the film are neatly written. The actors add a layer of conviction to the satire. The underrated underused Sharman Joshi puts up a convincing show as an Indian soldier trying to keep his and his army`s spirits high in the face of violence. Why don`t we see more of him? Jaaved Jaffery, who was effective as a snarling villain in last week`s ‘Besharam’, puts up another bravura act as Sharman`s colleague from the other side of the firing line. Soha Ali Khan as a television journalist modelled on Barkha Dutta (not again!) gets into the satirical spirit with ease.
The film has a vast cast of comic performers. But I must make special mention of Mukul Dev as an Afghani infiltrator, who gets it wrong each time. Mukul`s accent and comic timing are fodder for the funny bones.
Very rarely do we get a chance to smile about the grim reality of war. This film gives a nimble twinkle-eyed satirical slant to the scourge of war. Warm and well-packaged with intelligent performances, ‘War Chhod Na Yaar’ flounders when it abandons the human aspect to get into the nuclear zone.
Then it`s time to groan.

Karan Johar wants 24-hour security?

Mumbai: Producer-director Karan Johar has reportedly requested the Protection and Security Branch of the Mumbai Police to give him 24-hour security cover. The filmmaker had lodged a complaint with the Khar police station in Mumbai last month after he received an extortion threat via SMS from an unknown number. The case was then transferred to the anti-extortion cell of the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Film personalities have often been targeted by the underworld. Prior to Johar, producer Boney Kapoor too had received threat calls from a gangster. Kapoor had then filed a complaint with the Oshiwara Police station and the case was later transferred to the anti-extortion cell of the Mumbai police.

Alexandra Burke shoots nude photo for PETA

London: British singer Alexandra Burke has lent her support to PETA`s fight against animal cruelty. She has shot a nude picture which reads- `I`d rather go naked than wear fur`.
"So proud to reveal my PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) advert. It was a nerve wracking but brilliant experience for something I really believe in," Burke posted on Twitter.
The singer was nervous before the shoot, reports contactmusic.com
"I was nervous about posing nude as I`ve never done it before. It was uncomfortable initially, but the photographer made me feel relaxed and at ease...Ultimately, I love my body, so it was great to do something for such a worthwhile cause," she added.
Other celebrities who have starred in this campaign include model Christy Turlington, TV personality Bethenny Frankel, actress Olivia Munn among others.

Blake Lively's Lifestyle Company: Will It Be Another Goop?

As if being a successful actress, fashion muse, and wife to Ryan Reynolds weren't enough, Blake Lively is adding one more title to her resume. The blonde beauty is launching a lifestyle company that will likely cover fashion, food, travel, and home decor. "It's something that will be launching in a few months and that I'm really, really thrilled about," Lively gushed. "The main element of it is that it's about storytelling and it's about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There's nothing like it out there — it's without a genre."
That might be a stretch, as entrepreneurial stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Martha Stewart have also created lifestyle brands with their own unique visions. Perhaps Lively is joining the ranks of her fellow like-minded blondes but specifically targeting her own generation. Regardless, it sounds suspiciously similar to already-established lifestyle companies, especially Goop. Paltrow's site features recipes, styling tips, travel notes and wellness advice. Lively often mentions her cooking skills to the press, we all know she has impeccable style, and she recently shared her experience with decorating her home in Bedford, NY, with Lucky magazine. Wonder what her lifestyle site is going to be about.
Lively went on to say, "I have so many passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don't utilize when acting. Acting was something that my family did so I just kind of got into it by default, but there was so much that I cultivated, thinking that I wouldn't be an actor." Girl, we get it. You're good at stuff. You've won in life, but do we really need to be force-fed your way of living? If it's anything like Goop, it'll be filled with crocodile shoes we can't afford and duck ragout recipes we can't allow ourselves to eat if we want to look like the very inspiration behind the lifestyle. Not to mention, one company's unrealistic advice is more than enough.

Still, it remains to be seen how Lively's new venture will turn out. Maybe she'll make good on her promise that it'll be like nothing out there. Maybe it'll offer advice real humans can follow. Only time will tell, but either way, somewhere Gwyneth Paltrow is shaking her head and thinking, "How cute."
Jennifer Lawrence Burns Bright in New 'Hunger Games: Catching Fire' Poster
The new The Hunger Games: Catching Fire poster puts the controversial victor center stage, aiming an arrow at her enemies, with the tagline "Remember Who The Enemy Is" seared at the top. In Panem, where revolutionary feelings are bubbling right under the surface, it may be hard to tell friend from foe when the fighting erupts. An engulfed Mockingjay pin, a symbol for the growing defiance of the districts, burns brightly behind her.

In the upcoming sequel to The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson), co-champs of the previous year's Hunger Games, must go on the Victory Tour, a year-long trip through all of Panem's districts. Due to her actions in the previous movie, the districts are crackling with tension, as civil unrest and a burgeoning revolution may threaten to throw the whole continent into chaos.

Fantasy Casting the Supporting Characters in 'Fifty Shades of Grey'

Whether superfans of the trilogy like it or not, the lead roles in the Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation have been cast: Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson are the new Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. This casting decision made huge waves, as many folks had their hearts set on other actors, but Hunnam and Johnson are capable talents who can absolutely bring these roles to life. Still, there's the question of the supporting cast, which could also make a big difference in how the film pans out. Christian and Ana are obviously a huge deal, but there are many minor characters in the books that affect the steamy story of love, sex, and BDSM. Based on character descriptions and our desire to see...well, more hot people in the cast, here are our choices for the supporting cast of this highly-anticipated movie.

Blake Lively as Kate Kavanaugh
We so see Gossip Girl Blake Lively as Anastasia's blonde bombshell of a BFF. Gorgeous, outspoken, and a little bit overbearing -- we think Blake could pull it off.

Jay Hernandez as José Rodriguez
Not everyone will remember this cutie, but Jay Hernandez first caught a lot of eyes when he starred alongside Kirsten Dunst in Crazy/Beautiful. Since then he landed a role on the popular ABC series Nashville, and we'd love to see himback on the big screen as Ana's hot photographer friend.

Paul Walker as Elliot Grey
Christian Grey's older brother needs be played by someone who's just as good-looking, but a little less intense. And since he actually ends up with Kate Kavanaugh (our Blake Lively), then we had to think of someone who would pair up well with her. Enter Paul Walker. The Fast & Furious actor adds a little more eye candy to the cast (no such thing as too much of that), and he and Hunnam could totally pass as brothers from another mother.
Diane Lane as Elena "Mrs. Robinson" Lincoln
Mrs. Robinson is the beautiful, dominating older woman who turned young Christian Grey into the complicated (and somewhat frightening) man he eventually becomes. There's only one woman who we think could pull off this sexual and somewhate severe role. Diane Lane...but only if she channels her character from Unfaithful.

Fantasy Casting the '300 Sandwiches' Movie

Last week, the world learned about the blog 300 Sandwiches and its creator, New York Post reporter Stephanie Smith. And everyone had something to say about it.
Here's the gist, if you somehow managed to miss the story: Smith's boyfriend begged her for weeks to make him a sandwich and when she finally gave in, announced that she was only "300 sandwiches away from an engagement ring!" And, because this is how people's minds work these days, Smith decided to take on the challenge and document her it in a blog.
The project already sounds like a poorly envisioned romantic comedy, so why don't we turn it into one? We've got our dream cast all lined up, for both the real-life players and some fictional characters we added to the mix.
Lea Michele as Stephanie Smith
As the Type-A Rachel Berry on Glee, Michele shows just the right mix of unsettling positivity and manic energy necessary to play the marriage-hungry blogger.

Ian Somerhalder as Stephanie's Boyfriend
We imagine that the sandwich-loving programmer is dashing enough to inspire this kind of lunacy, yet smarmy enough to ask for it in the first place.

Krysten Ritter as Single Gal #1
Ritter would kill it as the disapproving friend whose kitchen, Smith claims, "is used for shoe storage."

Emma Watson as Single Gal #2
We like the idea of Hermione Granger herself playing the second girlfriend ("a hard-working C-suite banking executive), who thinks Smith's plan is disturbingly outdated.

Regina Taylor as the Gourmet Deli Owner
Taylor's character could provide some wise council to Smith during her frequent sandwich ingredient shopping trips. And she can help get her into the arms of...

Chris Pine as The Good Guy Chef
How about dreamy, blue-eyed Pine for the guy who falls in love with the blogger at the deli and wins her when he offers to make her a couple hundred layered delicacies?

The 31-year-old is mother to Sean Preston, eight, and seven year old Jayden, and she announced last month that she wanted to incorporate her eldest boy into the concerts during her two-year residency in Sin City, reports contactmusic.com.

The move surprised her ex-husband, the boys` father Kevin Federline, but now a representative of Spears has spoken out to insist that she was joking.

The pop star is set to kick off her Las Vegas tour Dec 27.

London: Rihanna transformed herself into a striking `Slapper Flapper Girl` from the 1920s`in her racy new pics, which she posted on her Instagram page.

The `Umbrella` hitmaker, who recently got a ratty mullet hairdo, is seen wearing a platinum wig and an extravagant jewelled necklace in the snapshots, the Mirror reported.
The 25-year-old teamed her sexy look with white stripper heels and a silky violet nightdress.
Rihanna was dolled up for her long awaited ` Pour It Up ` video, where she would be seen poledancing.
In one of the pics, the pop singer can be seen being oiled up by an assistant, before changing into a revealing fishnet costume.

'How I Met Your Mother' React: This Show Still Has Its Heart (Season 9, Episode 3)

It's always a little disarming — and more than a little embarrassing, if you're in the company of friends — when a show like How I Met Your Mother makes you tear up. But if in the same half hour of television viewing, you witness hordes of geriatrics swarming like zombies hungry for any mention of Mandy Patinkin and tremble over a heartwarming speech delivered by a woman concerned for her longtime friend's happiness, you've got a pretty good program on your hands. Now, we're likely all in the boat that HIMYM has been running steamless for the past few years. But three episodes in, Season 9 seems to have a little more pep than we've come to expect. Not quite early era pep, but definitely enough to remind us of the show we loved way back when. It's been funnier, livelier, and — as proven by the final moments of this week's ep, "Last Time in New York," even more emotional.

And as has always been the case with How I Met Your Mother, the real meaty emotional moment didn't occur between two lovers. Yes, we feel for Ted when he professes to Robin that he loves her. We're impressed when Robin and Barney showcase their mutual affection despite a ganglion of self-destructive behaviors. But the best, most tearful instances in the show's history have been entirely platonic. I particularly love when Lily, who has grown on me quite a bit since her days of hyper-manipulation, doles out some compassionate advice to her dimwitted chums. In the latest ep, the recipient is Ted, who has vowed to leave New York for good after Robin and Barney tie the knot.

While its present day resonance might pale in comparison to that of days past, what How I Met Your Mother has done consistently well is keep us believing that these people are and should be friends. Ted and Marshall make sense as friends who would have hit it off in college and stayed close throughout the years. Barney is the sort of person who'd attach himself to a guy like Ted and keep his haunches embedded in the marginally cool and intelligent but ostensibly non-threatening, reliable average Joe. And it makes sense that within this beehive of nincompoops, that Lily would serve as confidant for the sadder members of the troupe. Sometimes it's Barney. Occasionally it's Robin. Most often, it's Ted. And thanks to their mutually somber vantage points (a fact that is highlighted in partnership with their tangible bond taking the form of Marshall, the most merry and humanistic of the group by far) and long history together, Ted and Lily have a realistic, meaningful relationship. One that really pays off in moments like the ending of "Last Time in New York."

Lily begins by spelling out all of the reasons she doesn't think Ted should leave, but settles (seeing the misery in the eyes of her friend) on just insisting that he leave on the best terms possible, growing misty herself at the thought of her pal departing with such heartbreak in tow. It's a genuine moment, the likes of which we recall from the earlier seasons, but that is even stronger now thanks to our own extended investment in these people (and nostalgia for their better days).

So sure, How I Met Your Mother might not consistently manage the wit and oomph of its first few years, but it still has shines of the heart we fell in love with way back when we realized this was more than just a goofy show about a guy who liked a girl he met in a bar. Bravo, HIMYM. Bravo, Lily.

Vamp Stomp: Runway Looks for the Fanger Wannabe

At the turn of the 20th century, the vamp was the height of modernity. Plus ça change. In the 21st century it’s still all Vamp, although this time it has a little more bite.
For several seasons, the catwalks of New York, Paris, London and Milan have featured stark demonesses and dark historical references. Rick Owens strapped his power sex goddesses in fur. Marc Jacobs sent dark flappers down the runway. At Chanel it was shredded Goth Victoriana. And Sarah Burton is carrying the McQueen torch for Elizabethan fetish-wear.
You may not want to be a she-creature — at least not in the light of day — but admit it: the Goth looks that are stalking the runway could "glamour" even the strongest soul.

I'm not a drug addict: Sky Ferreira

New York: Pop star Sky Ferreira insists she is not a drug addict.

‘The Everything Is Embarrassing’ hitmaker and her boyfriend Zachary Cole Smith were held, here after cops pulled over their vehicle and found the rocker to be in possession of heroin. Ferreira was reportedly arrested for possessing Ecstasy.

However, the singer has accused cops of intentionally targeting the two, reports contactmusic.com.

“...it`s annoying because I wasn`t charged with his heroin. It says it. The public records are out there. I wasn`t charged with it,” she said.
“Trust me, if I was even anywhere near that, they would`ve charged me because they had no problem charging me with other s**t. They were out to kind of like f**k with us. I`m scared to say more than that because I don`t want them to arrest us anymore,” she further posted.

The trio also performed a small act from the Prabhudheva film during the trailer launch.

The action entertainer is co-produced by Eros International and producer Viki Rajani. The trailer will be attached to Abhinav Kashyap’s ‘Besharam’, which releases Wednesday.
‘R...Rajkumar’ will release Dec 6.
Here’s the trailer:

Did Katrina Kaif stop Ranbir Kapoor from promoting 'Besharam' on Salman Khan’s 'Bigg Boss 7'?

Mumbai: We’ve seen how a lot of B-town celebs have going out red faced from Sallu’s reality show after taking the stage with the 'Dabangg' star for their film’s promotions, but Ranbir isn’t ready to step on the 'Bigg Boss 7' stage. Not even if it means good promotions for 'Besharam'?

Ranbir Kapoor has refused to go on Salman Khan’s 'Bigg Boss 7'. One of the highly watched reality shows on television is what the makers of Besharam wanted to cash on, but their film’s hero doesn’t want to share the stage with the most wanted Khan.
Apparently RK is aware about Sallu’s antics on the show and how Sallu gets his star guests red faced on his show – Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor or even his current girlfriend who was Salman’s ex Katrina Kaif hasn’t been spared of this embarrassment. Guess, this is why RK wants to stay away from this stage.
After all he might not be sure if Sallu will show his hell or heaven side to the 'Besharam' actor. While it’s natural to speculate that Ranboo would not wanna face Salman especially after the bikini pictures, wethinks there’s more to what meets the eye.
We know about ex’s and their currents avoiding each other theory, but we also hear that Jr Kapoor wants a day off from work on his birthday on September 28. This also happens to be the day when 'Bigg Boss 7' team shoots the eviction episode.
Now who do you think RK would wanna spend his special day with, obviously not his current’s ex right? After denying birthday plans and saying that he would be busy working on his special day, chuparustam RK has a surprise up his sleeve it seems.
What’s your guess peeps – A private date with Katrina or a big bash with B-towners in attendance and his ladylove Katrina by his side? As for Ranbir’s loss has turned out to be Anil Kapoor’s gain, as AK will promote his upcoming television series 24 on Salman’s show. So ready are you guys ready some dhasu entertainment on the 'Bigg Boss' stage and outside as well?
Let’s see who fares better RK-Kat or then Salman and his 'No Entry' co-star Anil!

Prabhudheva is masala king: Shahid Kapoor

Mumbai: Actor Shahid Kapoor, who has worked under the direction of Prabhudheva for the first time in ‘R...Rajkumar’, says the actor-director is the "masala king" of movies.

Prabhudheva has earlier helmed Bollywood films like ‘Rowdy Rathore’ and ‘Wanted’.

"I hope I have been able to fulfil what Prabhu (Prabhudheva) has expected from me. It was an honour to work with him. He is the mawali (rowdy) and the masala king," Shahid told reporters at the trailer launch of ‘R...Rajkumar’ here Tuesday.
Shahid says he simply followed Prabhudheva`s instructions.
"I have copied what Prabhu was doing and I have only followed him throughout the film. There was too much of action, so it was tiring. But I had a great time shooting," said Shahid, who found it challenging to match steps with Prabhudheva as far as dancing was concerned.
"I used to think I am a great dancer, but when I danced with him I realised I am still a struggler," said Shahid, a trained dancer.
‘R...Rajkumar’ features Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead. The film releases Dec 6.

My father is my superhero: Hrithik Roshan

Mumbai: Actor Hrithik Roshan, who will be seen as a superhero in his filmmaker father`s movie ‘Krrish 3’, says his dad is his superhero.

Hrithik also credited his father with popularising the superhero genre in Bollywood with the ‘Krrish’ franchise, which started with ‘Koi Mil Gaya’.

"I am thankful to my dad. If he didn`t exist, there would have been no superhero genre in Indian cinema. He has broken all the barriers and has made it possible. This is because of the power of his conviction. For me, my father is my superhero, "Hrithik told reporters here Tuesday at the launch of ‘Krrish 3’ merchandise.
Asked if his own sons look up to him as their superhero, Hrithik said: "I always hope they see me as superhero. Being a father is the biggest chance and opportunity to be a superhero in your life."
‘Krrish 3’, releasing in November, also features Vivek Oberoi, Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut.

Hollywood & Bollywood Updates 30th September 2013

Kim Kardashian jets to Paris without North West

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are enjoying a romantic break in Paris without their daughter.
The couple, who welcomed their first child, North West, into the world in June, touched down in the French capital on Saturday (28.09.13) for Paris Fashion Week.
The reality TV star, 32, and her rapper boyfriend took a private jet from Los Angeles' Van Nuys Airport to San Francisco, California, on Friday morning (27.09.13), where they then transferred to a commercial flight, according to gossip website TMZ.com.
Their four-month-old daughter was nowhere in sight as they made their way through SFO airport with a small entourage.
An insider also told UsMagazine.com: 'Kim was sad to say goodbye. This is the first time she's been away from the baby.'
Kim was spotted applying for North's first passport last month but she has yet to take the tot out of the USA.
A source revealed that the couple opted to fly out of San Francisco as Kanye, 36, has been advised to avoid the paparazzi at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) by his lawyers.
The 'New Slaves' hitmaker is being sued by a photographer for criminal battery and his team do not want him to get into another confrontation with snappers.
Prosecutors are allegedly gathering evidence from four other incidents in a bid to prove that Kanye's first instinct is to attack when he sees a photographer.

3 Surprisingly Affordable Stores Where All The Celebrities Are Shopping

There’s nothing more depressing, more financially damaging than trying to dress like a celebrity. Many of us have attempted such feats, splurging on the occasional Prada shades when we were in college. But as the years go by and real responsibilities start kicking in (like, ya know, apartments and diapers and whatnot) it gets to be more and more impossible to keep up with these celebs. However, occasionally, many of them leave the couture labels behind and hit up the kinds of stores that lots of us can afford — which is really nice of them. Rihanna, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Kate Bosworth, Julianne Hough, and even First Lady Michele Obama have all been spotted in beautiful threads from these three amazingly affordable spots. Which is awesome for those of us who want to dress just like them, on maybe 1/25 of their budgets.

ASOS

They’ve teamed up with the dopeness that is Azealia Banks, and they’re frequented by everyone from Michelle Obama to Vanessa Hudgens, to Kourtney Kardashian. ASOS is seriously the one-stop-shop for just about everything. The tops, the dresses, hell -- even their maternity wear is off the hook. While they do carry some high-end brands, you’d be shocked at how much cuteness you can find for under thirty bucks. #WINNING
Topshop
If it’s good enough for Beyoncé and Rihanna, it’s good enough for you! The British retailer is having a huge sale right now, and there’s a good chance that you can get yourself something fabulous, and still pay your cell phone bill. They’re a little pricier than ASOS, and cater to a slightly more sophisticated fashionista, but Topshop still offers a variety of styles for a good price. They’ve also got a pretty awesome beauty department to get you the total look.
ModCloth
This vintage-inspired online retailer has so much adorable stuff, it’s almost overwhelming. A favorite of bloggers, Taylor Swift, and fashionistas alike, ModCloth is a must-visit site if you’re into super-cute contemporary dresses with a 60s flare. They also have a brilliant system for customer reviews, where folks who recently purchased the item can upload photos of themselves wearing it. This is awesome because—let’s face it—it never quite looks the same as it does on the model, right?

Arnold Schwarzenegger clicked kissing new girlfriend

Los Angeles: Amidst rumours of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger dating Heather Milligan, photographs of the duo kissing each other have emerged.

The 66-year-old was photographed kissing Milligan Sep 20 after a romantic dinner at Fig Restaurant in Fairmont Hotel, Santa Monica, reports tmz.com.

They arrived separately, but before leaving the actor slipped into Milligan`s car to give her a goodbye kiss as she got into her car.

`The Terminator` was married to Maria Shriver, but they filed for divorce in 2011 to end their 25-year marriage.

Tracy Morgan says that he has plenty of action in bedroom

Washington: Funnyman Tracy Morgan has revealed that he gets plenty of action despite being a middle-aged man.

Morgan told People Magazine at the Emmy Awards that he and his lady love, Megan Wollover, don`t lack bedroom activity, People magazine reported.

The 44-year-old actor said that he can`t compete with his fiance Wollover as she looks stunning and he look like James Bond - a black James Bond - Jerome Bond.

Kate Upton dating Maksim Chmerkovskiy?

Los Angeles: Model Kate Upton has sparked dating rumors with dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy after the duo were spotted walking hand in hand.
The 21-year-old model and Chmerkovskiy, 33, were pictured looking relaxed and happy while strolling down the street in New York City`s West Village
neighborhood, reported E! Online.Earlier in July, the duo were spotted in NYC going on a dinner date together after an event.
"The two did not want to be photographed together and did the best they could to avoid the cameras. They left the event around midnight and went to Catch sushi bar, that turns into a club. The two partied until the early hours," a source said.
Chmerkovskiy shot to fame by being one of the professional dancers on the American television series `Dancing with the Stars`.
Upton has previously been linked with Blake Griffin, Mark Sanchez and Justin Verlander.

Marital Rape? 'Real Housewife' Melissa Gorga Says 'Okay!'

The Garden State has a lot to explain after Melissa Gorga of Real Housewives of New Jersey released a marriage advice book titled Love Italian Style. Her advice can easily be reduced to one word: SEX. Normally sex itself would be a problem, but just how Melissa's husband Joe Gorga gets it is where the controversy lies.
Despite Melissa sometimes feeling "exhausted" or "not really in the mood," she just can't seem to say "no" to her husband. If she does, well...here's what Joe thinks what "no" really means:
"Men, I know you think your woman isn't the type who wants to be taken. But trust me, she is. Every girl wants to get her hair pulled once in awhile. If your wife says "no," turn her around, and rip her clothes off. She wants to be dominated.Women don't realize how easy men are. Just give us what we want."
Not convinced that sounded a bit rapey? Well, here's a passage that essentially tells women to submit and become sex slaves for their husbands.
"[A] woman needs to keep herself in shape. She has to be seductive. She must be willing to try new things for her husband's pleasure and her own. And, most important, she has to be available for sex.
There's real passionate sex and maintenance sex. You need them both for a healthy marriage. Maintenance sex keeps the wheels greased, the lines of communication open, and the fights to a minimum."
Sex keeps "lines of communication open?" Well, Joe's Neanderthal brow does clearly indicate he is probably most expressive in an act of carnal fornication.
Occasionally, Joe does manage to squeeze enough power out of his prehistoric brain to chime in with more of his misogynistic gems. Here's an example of the man's attempt to mask his profound insecurities (which basically echoes what Pat Robertson said months ago):
"Refusing to initiate is a Top Three reason men cheat. The ugliest girl in the world could come on to a man in that state of mind, and he might have to go for it. He thinks, At least someone wants me."
It's fairly clear that Melissa is in an abusive relationship. Here's a snippet that clearly shows she's just a punching bag for Joe's insecurities.
"If he gets one ounce of flack from me, he flips a switch and goes off. I know it's not really about me, so I don't get riled up. I supposed I could get angry back him for getting the bulk end of his problems. But then again, that's what a spouse is for. You get to release your stress on someone you trust, who you know won't hold it against you. He' like to yell at a colleague, client, or employee. But he yells at me and doesn't screw up a business deal. I can take it."
What's sad is there's 256 pages of this drivel. While the book's subtitle is "The Secrets of My Hot and Happy Marriage," it's hard not to shake off the feeling that she's simply a broken woman who has given in:
"I used to want to hold onto my independence, even after we got married. I didn't want to need anyone, not even Joe. Now, I know that it's arrogant to think you don't need anyone. Need is only a four-letter word if you don't accept it as another one. F-A-C-T."

'Paranormal Activity 5' to be directed by Gregory Plotkin

Los Angeles: Gregory Plotkin, the editor and co-producer of the last three installments of ‘Paranormal Activity’, is on board as the director for its fifth instalment.
‘Paranormal Activity 5’ will mark the directorial debut of Plotkin while scribe duo Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman will write the script, reported Ace Showbiz.

The next ‘Paranormal Activity’ is slated to hit theaters in the United States on October 25, 2014 preceded with ‘The Marked Ones’ on January 3. The Latin-themed spin-off is directed by Christopher Landon, who wrote the last three ‘Paranormal Activity’.
Landon will leave the horror franchise to direct a new Paramount scary film called ‘Boy Scouts vs Zombies’.

Would Hollywood Remake 'The Golden Girls' After Betty White Passes?

What will happen when four becomes none? That's the sad inevitability that will occur when Betty White passes, since she is the last surviving Golden Girl following the deaths of Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty. Of course, Hollywood, which is known for being such a sentimental place, may have a schmaltzy tribute for the life of White. She'll certainly get a good long remembrance at the Emmys - I'm thinking that at least one of the Hot In Cleveland cast would go up and talk, or maybe even Mary Tyler Moore. Then they might go about doing a reboot of The Golden Girls.

Hey, it's not out of the realm of possibility. Please put down your Sophia Petrillo coffee mug. It wouldn't be instantaneous, Maybe a few years or so down the road. They'd be thinking about how a more modern version of the show might play...see how Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia handle a new world with smartphones and the Internet. They might even make a movie. Look at 21 Jump Street. They made a movie of that and all the principal actors from the TV show are alive! Of course, they changed some of the premise and basically had a whole different type of plot and vibe with the name 21 Jump Street plastered on it.
It could be decades, actually, since older shows always seem to get a re-imagining. Look at The Transformers, Garfield, and The Smurfs now. Those were hit shows in the '80s and they have all had the movie treatment fairly recently. Once Lifetime and all the other channels finally stop showing Golden Girls re-runs in syndication and the show fades from people's minds, maybe my son will take a date to see this Golden Girls movie (he's 3 now, so you imagine the time frame here).
I'd love for the faces of Arthur, McClanahan, Getty and White to be associated with this show forever, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a film version with the four women somehow wackily becoming drug mules for Walter White or something like that.

Ranbir Kapoor dodges query on Katrina Kaif

Mumbai: Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who turned 31 Saturday, refused to reveal what gift he received from actress Katrina Kaif, who is reportedly dating him.

"There is a phrase in English `Mind your own business`," Ranbir told reporters at an event here.

Recently, the rumoured lovers made headlines when their pictures while holidaying together in Spain were published.
There are reports that Ranbir and Katrina will go on a holiday again, but he chose to keep mum on this too when asked. "Jab pictures chhap jayenge, tab tum log hi bata dena yaar. What should I say? (When pictures get published, you only inform)..."
The actor is currently busy promoting his next film `Besharam`.

Kareena Kapoor's priorities in life are clear: Soha Ali Khan

Mumbai: Actress Soha Ali Khan says her sister-in-law Kareena Kapoor has set her priorities right on personal and professional front.

"We are very much ourselves and what I love about her is in spite of being a huge star, she is a very down to earth person. Physically also she is without make up, chilled out and naturally very beautiful as a person. I know how difficult it is to be an actor and work and then have to look after your personal life," Soha told reporters.
"I respect the fact that she is clear in her priorities about work and my brother. So I have lot of respect for her as a person and we get along very well... She likes me because I am like my brother," she said.
Soha feels Kareena and Saif are good influence on each other. She and Kareena don`t live together, but whenever they meet they do not talk much about films and work.
"If you sit with four actors you will realise no actor is interested in another actor`s work. They will immediately switch off. We are more interested in talking about what is happening off set, we indulge in gossip all the time but I am not telling you (who all we gossip about)," she said.
On work front, Soha seems quite excited about her upcoming film `War Chhod Naa Yaar`, being promoted as India`s first war comedy film, where she is playing the role of a war correspondent.
"This particular representation at border is unique. I always wanted to go to the border and I was looking to get an opportunity to go to Kargil. Sharman Joshi and I went to Wagah Border when we were shooting for `Rang De Basanti`. I always had this imagination of going there after seeing `Border`, `LOC` and to know as to what happens there," she said.
"I am doing live reporting in the film for some time and interacting with Army officers. She is like a normal girl and has a normal romantic healthy interest. She meets Sharman Joshi, who is a good looking Army officer," Soha said.
`War Chhod Na Yaar` is directed by Faraz Haider, who assisted Dibakar Banerjee on `Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!`. The film also stars Sharman Joshi, Jaaved Jaffrey, Dalip Tahil and Mukul Dev. It releases on October 11.
Asked if there was any sibling rivalry during childhood with Saif or her sister Saba, Soha said, "I did not have fights with Bhai (Saif) but with my sister Saba, because there is a ten-year gap between Saif and me, while me and my elder sister have a gap of two-and-half years or so."
"My sister and I shared a room and we had actually made a border, if anyone crossed it, it was like infiltrating in the area. We had horrible fights as children," she said.
Though Soha is the youngest in the family, she thinks she was not pampered as much as Saif was.
"I don't think I was pampered, my sister feels I was. My brother was pampered because of the mother-son relation. Bhai was allowed to get away with everything, while my mother was strict with us," she said.
"But none of us were spoilt. We came from a position but we were asked to follow basic things like switching off lights, not to talk on phone much often and we were given an allowance," Soha added.

Dipannita, Arunoday in Bejoy Nambiar's next

Mumbai: Actors Dipannita Sharma and Arunoday Singh will be seen in Bejoy Nambiar`s Tamil remake film `Pizza`.

Nambiar is set to produce Hindi remake of Tamil film, which revolves around a pizza delivery boy and how his life takes a turn after one particular delivery.

"I am shooting for two films. I am doing a special appearance in a film of Bejoy Nambiar. It is a south remake film. There is Arunoday Singh with me," said Dipannita, who was earlier seen in `Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl`.
The film will also have Miss India 2008 Parvathy Omanakuttan and Akshay Oberoi, who was last seen in `Isi Life Mein`.
Dipannita only said that `Pizza` is a thriller and refused to divulge any other details about it.

Get 'Besharam' this week

New Delhi: With no other big films releasing this Friday, Abhinav Kashyap`s `Besharam` has a clean week as far as competition goes. The Ranbir Kapoor-starrer is hitting theatres Oct 2.

The film will be a litmus test for both actor Ranbir after superhit `Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani` and Kashyap post `Dabangg`.

Surrogacy case: Shah Rukh Khan seeks dismissal of plea.

Mumbai: Actor Shah Rukh Khan has sought dismissal of a petition filed by social activist Varsha Deshpande seeking early hearing of the complaint filed by her in a magistrate court seeking action against him for sex determination of their third surrogate child.

Shahrukh`s lawyer Pranav Badhekar on September 26 requested the Bombay High Court to dismiss the petition on the ground that neither Deshpande nor her lawyers were present in the magistrate court when the matter was posted for arguments on September 24.
Deshpande had filed a complaint in the magistrate court seeking action against Shahrukh Khan, his wife Gauri, Jaslok hospital and its doctor and officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) under the Pre-conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act.
Deshpande had alleged that the star couple had conducted pre-birth sex determination tests of their surrogate son AbRam.
Deshpande had approached the High Court seeking an early hearing into her complaint on the ground that the Supreme Court had said that all cases under the PCPNDT Act should be heard and decided within six months.
"In the magistrate court all the respondents filed their replies on September 20 and the matter was kept for arguments on September 24. However, on that day no one was present on behalf of the complainant and the matter was adjourned," Shahrukh`s lawyer Badhekar told the court.
Seeking dismissal of the petition, Badhekar and BMC lawyer M P S Rao said that the petition has become infructuous and need not be entertained.
Justice Jadhav directed Badhekar to file a short affidavit by September 30 bringing this on record and also the order passed by the magistrate court on September 24 adjourning the hearing.
The civic body had earlier told the court that it had conducted an inquiry into the allegations of sex determination and found it baseless.

Never used my father's name to enter industry: Javed Jaffrey

Mumbai: Noted actor Javed Jaffrey says he has never used his father Jagdeep`s influence to get work.

Javed, son of veteran actor-comedian Jagdeep, is known for donning various hats - that of an actor, dancer, singer, choreographer, VJ, ad filmmaker, among others.

He made his acting debut with `Meri Jung` in 1985 where he made a huge impact in a negative role. He has been part of many hit films like `100 Days`, `Fire`, `Earth`, `Salaam Namaste`, `Singh is Kingg` and `3 Idiots` and others.
"Being the son or daughter of a legendary film personality you get more respect. But I have never used that (my father`s name) as an influence to enter industry. It is not that I got work because of him. My father did not do a film for me or launched me, he wanted us to do things on our own," Javed said.
"Rather I never thought I will enter the film industry, it happened all by chance. Destiny played a part and brought me here in this industry," he said.
Javed has played a variety of roles, from negative to positive, but he has a penchant for comedy.
"I like to play all kind of roles. You can`t do same stuff every time as it becomes boring. Comedy is my soft spot. But I love doing action, thriller, drama and negative (roles). I am not comfortable with sexuality, intimate scenes," he said.
The actor will be seen next in debutante director Faraz Haider`s `War Chhod Na Yaar`.
"I am playing captain Qureshi from the Punjab region of Pakistan. So my tone (language) in the film is Punjabi-Urdu. The film establishes relationship in an interesting way. I had great fun doing this film," he said.
Javed will also be seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor in `Besharam`. The actor has a few scenes with Ranbir and a climax scene with Neetu and Rishi Kapoor.
"We did interact on sets. I am a big fan of Rishiji, he is the best actor. Neetuji is fantastic. Ranbir is a fine actor and he is very focused about his work. They are humble and nice people," he said.
Javed will also be seen in Hrithik Roshan starrer `Bang Bang` and `Jo Bhi Karva Lo` with Arshad Warsi.

"Also Shah Rukh Khan, Rohit Shetty and lot of people from the industry called me and said `hum tumhare saath hai, batao kitne din mein set khada karna hai` (we are with you, tell in how many days the set has to be put up). The industry is like a family," he said.
Kapil says the exact cause of the fire is yet to be scertained as investigation is still on.
"We will come to know the exact loss... The figures only after the police verification," he said.
He rubbished rumours of a conspiracy behind the fire.

However, Kapil is quite happy that people are loving his show and he hopes it to continue. Two episodes supposed to be aired on this weekend have already been shot. But, for the upcoming episodes they will be shooting on the sets of `Bigg Boss` show.
"It`s not an easy job to reconstruct a huge set in such a short time. The channel is also trying to get the best floor to reconstruct a new set. We have a huge set up and we don`t want to compromise with it," he added.
