London: Actress Jennifer Lawrence says she can relate to her ‘Hunger Games’ alter ego Katniss Everdeen because she understands how hard it can be getting recognised in public.

The 23-year-old actress was catapulted into the spotlight with her role as leading lady Katniss Everdeen in ‘The Hunger Games’.

In the film`s sequel ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’, Lawrence`s character fictional alter-ego also becomes famous in her hometown, reported Daily Mirror.

"There is the connection in that she doesn`t feel like she`s part of town anymore. Now everyone treats her like a celebrity.

"Whereas she still feels like she`s part of them. I get that a lot. I`ll go and get a coffee where I always get coffee and all of a sudden there`s this weird mood, and I`m like `Come on, I still get coffee here, just say hello`," Lawrence said.

Hollywood celebs spill sex scenes secrets

Melbourne: Hollywood actors, like Jennifer Aniston, Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman and Hugh Grant, have shed light on what they do to prepare for a sex scene.

The former `Friends` star has claimed that sex scenes can be nerve racking, but unavoidable so the best thing to do is keep them under 30 seconds, the Daily Telegraph reported.
Mila Kunis has revealed that she was extremely self-conscious about her body, and while shooting `Friends With Benefits` with Justin Timberlake, she got through the steamy scenes "by keeping it fun and through rehearsing".
Kate Winslet confessed that she relied on memories of her love scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in `Titanic` for her topless love scene in `Iris`.
While Hugh Jackman asserted that having an understading partner, like his wife and actress Deborra-Lee Furness, makes it easier to do such scenes, Hugh Grant admitted that he doesn`t fear sex scenes, but actually enjoys them and finds them extremely arousing.
And Salma Hayek said that she struggles with love scenes because she keeps thinking about her family seeing her nude.

The Beckhams sell Beckingham Palace?

London: Soccer star David Beckham and his wife Victoria have reportedly sold their Beckingham Palace home.

The superstar couple raised their sons Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, and Cruz, eight, at the home, reported Digital Spy.

"David in particular was desperately sad to sell the family home as there are so many memories. They have had years of happiness in the home, but practically now there is no need to keep it. It`s the beginning of a new era for the family," a source said.

The home and several cars have been sold for 12 million pounds as the couple look to raise their family - including two-year-old daughter Harper - in London and take them to Los Angeles for the school holidays
"The Beckhams love both England and LA. They want the Californian sunshine for the kids but the education system of the UK - so they`re getting the best of both worlds.
"It`s an exciting time for the Beckhams as they enter a new chapter of family life," the source added.

Cher finds Lady Gaga's meat bag gorgeous

Los Angeles: Singer Cher says she felt weird when she was asked to carry pop star Lady Gaga`s meat bag, but admits that she found it gorgeous.

The 67-year-old first thought it was a new designer bag, reports contactmusic.com.

"I thought it was hysterical. I didn`t realise what it was at first and then she said, `Hold my meat purse`, and I thought it was a new designer I didn`t know," Cher said.

"Then I looked down and thought, `Woah this is strange`. It felt very weird, but the design was gorgeous and it was really a work of art," she added.

Is It Even Worth It For Sinead O'Connor To Chastise Miley Cyrus?

There has been a series of online back-and-forths between Sinead O'Connor and Miley Cyrus lately. First O'Connor, who was perturbed at how the teen sensation has been acting, posted something in a mentorly sort of fashion, warning her that the entertainment industry was going to use her for her sexual image until she burned out and then just wind up spitting her out. Cyrus responded by retweeting some earlier things O'Connor had posted. O'Connor then went ballastic, venting heavily at the twerking pop star. Is the former '90s sensation just wasting her breath? I think so.
The problem for O'Connor is that she doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell to get through to Cyrus, since the younger artist thinks she knows everything. I was a teenager once. I thought I was a worldly sort and oh so mature. The people who were my current age? Fogeys. Stick-in-the-muds. Cyrus is probably thinking, "O'Connor is OLD. She's closer to 50. Man, what does she know?" No matter how much of a rebellious youth she was, the Irish singer represents the status quo. Everybody is like that. Well, with the exception of Alice Cooper. He'll never be a square even if he lives to be 150.
O'Connor could devote her time to doing much more beneficial things. Like banging her head repeatedly against a brick wall. Cyrus is going to do what she's going to do regardless of what people say. Let's just ignore the fact that the teen is trying to be a Madonna clone (Madonna is the one who gave Britney Spears a full-out lip-lock at those same awards a decade or so ago).
Eventually about 20 years or more will pass and Cyrus will be the one watching a young star make a fool of herself. She may find herself being the one wanting to dispense advice though whatever media is available then. Perhaps she will look back at her own antics and wish she had listened to her elders at the time and O'Connor's words finally will not have been in vain.

Shane Warne battles to win back Liz Hurley

London: Former cricketer Shane Warne has been battling to win back his ex-fiancée Liz Hurley with heartfelt messages on Twitter.

Warne posted a gushing message describing his ex-fiancée as an `angel` after seeing pictures of her without her engagement ring at a breast cancer charity event in New York, reported

"Well done on all the wonderful work you do. Hope the week was another huge success. Very proud of you angel. (sic)," he tweeted.

The couple reportedly split because the 44-year-old retired sportsman wouldn`t set a wedding date, but he is said to be `desperate` to win the actress back.

"Shane has hated seeing pictures of Liz without her ring and is desperate to win her back. He`s been reluctant to admit things are over and is missing her," a source said.

New Delhi: A few months back we reported the new found love between ‘Aashiqui 2’ couple Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur and how the couple has been going about painting the town red.

However, fresh word has it that while Aditya is madly in love with the pretty babe, Shraddha, on the other hand, is afraid of committing to the new man in her life.

An online entertainment tabloid reports that there could be two possible reasons for Shraddha’s non-committal attitude - a) Aditya’s wild past considering he has had his share of romantic liaisons and b) her own romantic past which she is still hanging on to.

The tabloid reports that Aditya is trying his best to win over Shraddha and shower his love on her. Now we have to wait and watch if all that chivalry helps Shraddha in making her mind about the relationship.

Temptation Reloaded' makes comeback to Sydney after 9 years

Melbourne: Sydneysiders are preparing itself to witness the biggest Bollywood event of the year when Shah Rukh Khan will perform at the extravagant musical show `Temptation Reloaded`.

A part of Paramatta`s arts festival - `Parramasala`, the show, which will happen today,has already sold 10,000 tickets till now.

Khan, 47, is currently travelling with a team of Bollywood stars including Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukherjee, Jacquelne Fernandez.
The?concert has been relaunched after 2004 and has already been creating huge buzz in Down Under.
We have already recorded over 10,000 sold tickets?and hopefully by evening it will touch over 12,000 mark," said a spokesperson of `Temptation Reloaded`.
In an interview to a local ABC channel, Khan, dubbed as a Bollywood`s Brad Pitt, said how Bollywood cinema is different from other foreign film industry.
"It`s a hundred years old industry. I think its the earliest industry in the world," Khan said, adding, "Somewhere down the line the fantasy and escapism we offer in our cinema is somewhat real like getting a job or buying a car or settling down with a happy family. Its not like we go and blow up a meteor with the earth. We don`t have superheroes as yet. Our heroes are superheroes who fight against the system. It`s deep rooted of what the society is going through."
Khan also discussed his love for cricket and the Australian connection through the game.
Mentioning about Brett Lee, Khan said `I keep joking with him if he does not take 10 wickets then he has to come and sing and dance in films. Australian players are extremely warm and friendly people. They are great cricketers."

Acting needs to be learned, practised: Anupam Kher

New Delhi: Acting might come naturally to many, but it is an art that needs to be "learnt" and "practised", says veteran actor Anupam Kher, whose acting academy has been included in a documentary series about incredible schools around the world.

He argues that reproducing emotions in front of the public needs work, which is something acting schools teach.
"Practice makes an actor excel. It is like cycling and motor driving. It is an art, which can be learnt and practised," Anupam said in a phone interview from Mumbai.
"You express all emotions in your daily life. An actor, who can act out these emotions for the public, needs to practise that," he added.
Anupam runs acting school Actor Prepares and teaches acting as a lifestyle.
"Our tag line says, `We bring out the actor in you`. In day-to-day life, our brain sends lots of signals. In acting, there are no signals. You have to believe in what you are trying to portray," he said.
"Our school not only makes you an actor, it makes you understand who you actually are as well... it gives you discipline and punctuality. It also teaches you a way of life," he added.
Actor Prepares has been selected to feature in a documentary series about incredible schools around the world by a Montreal-based production company Eurêka Productions.
The series titled `Schools Like No Others` will broadcast on TV5 in Canada next year.
"The school, which I started eight years ago, for that to be recognised is not only a great honour for me individually but also a great honour to the country...To achieve this in a short period of eight years is a great feeling," Anupam said.
The actor is excited that his school has been discovered on its own.
"It was not like we sent any entry. They have discovered us on their own. They got in touch with us a few months back; at that time I had no idea who they were," he said.
A versatile actor, Anupam has been seen in a mix of art-house and commercial films like `Saraansh`, `Daddy`, `Karma`, `Darr`, `Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge` and `Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara` in Bollywood.
He has been a part of crossover projects like `Bend It Like Beckham` and `Bride And Prejudice`.
Recently, he was seen in Hollywood film `Silver Linings Playbook`, which stars Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
The actor also featured in television thriller series, `24`, the desi version of American show by the same name.
He firmly believes that series like `24` will spark off a new tradition of Indian modifications of international fiction shows.
"Somebody has to take a risk and start that tradition. Others follow it. I am sure after `24`, a lot of foreign fiction series will be made in India," he said.
The actor has many films in his kitty such as David Dhawan`s `Mein Tera Hero`, Punit Malhotra`s `Gori Tere Pyaar Mein` and Yash Raj Films` `Daawat-E-Ishq`, which stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra.

'RSVP' music review: Peppy and entertaining

Director Vijay Kumar Arora`s forthcoming romantic drama ‘Ronde Saare Vyah Picho (RSVP)’ is replete with fun and entertaining songs. It`s certainly for the masses.

The first track is ‘RSVP’title song. Sung by Jaspreet Jasz, the peppy number is perfect as the introductory song of the movie. The mixing in the song is impressive. The female rapping is done by Nikita and she sounds as happening as Jaspreet. This one may not be essentially a performance number, but perfect for free style dance.
Then comes "Aibo". Singers Lambar Hussain and Tarranum Malik add fun to the song with their vibrant voices. The track has typical dhol beats and is based on the word "Aibo", a common term used while flying kites.
"DJ waale veera" is well composed song and singer G-Deep croons the celebrations song. Don`t be surprised if it goes on to become a must-have song during Punjabi weddings. In short, a complete entertainer.
Next is "Tu vi ni", the only slow number in the album. Sung by Navraj Hans, it is a romantic song and the composition is beautiful. Ideal for those who enjoy soothing music.
One might think that "Channa ve" is a fast paced boyish track. But singer Sandeep Bankeshwar gives soft rendition and the beautiful melody makes it an amazingly soothing song. A sad song, it expresses the emotion of the male character who is missing his lover.
Then there is "Manno". The song starts with electric beats and it has rap, style and class. This one can be a favourite for the Punjabi youth. The rap in the song has international feel to it and might become popular among men folk.
The album also has "Kudi on fire", a fun dance number sung by G-Deep. The track has peppy beats that woo dance lovers.
The best thing about songs of ‘Ronde Saare Vyah Picho’ is the length of the tracks. They are short, crisp and high on entertainment quotient. Punjabi music lovers must listen to all the tracks as the album offers something for every mood.

'24' deserves all awards: Kunal Kohli

Mumbai: So far only two episodes of Anil Kapoor`s maiden TV show `24` have unfolded on the small screen and it was enough to impress filmmaker Kunal Kohli who feels that the suspense thriller deserves all the awards.

Kohli, who directed movies like `Mujhse Dosti Karoge!`, `Hum Tum` and `Fanaa`, also believes that it is time to revamp television, which is dominated by saas-bahu sagas.
"`24` has me hooked. Deserves all the awards this year, except best jaithani-devrani. Re-tweet if you agree that Indian TV needs a major re-haul," Kohli posted on Twitter.
He had previously tweeted about the show, saying: "`24` is new dawn on Indian television."
`24`, the Indian version of the popular US suspense thriller of the same name, went on air Friday. The show stars Anil as Jai Singh Rathod, the Indian version of Jack Bauer. He is joined by the likes of Tisca Chopra, Anupam Kher and Mandira Bedi in the cast.
Well-known actress Shabana Azmi will also be seen in a cameo in the show.
Kohli, whose last directorial venture was Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra-starrer love saga `Teri Meri Kahaani`, has also raised questions about the preferences of television audiences.
"I don`t believe Indian audiences only want to see shows about family sagas. Why then are only those made? It`s like a national epidemic," he wrote.

Jennifer Lopez quits 'The 33' over 'prettier' stars?

Los Angeles: Actress Jennifer Lopez has reportedly quit movie `The 33` because producers refused to cast only those actresses who are less attractive than her.

`The 33` is based on the true story of the trapped Chilean miners, reports contactmusic.com.

"JLo kept going through the hundreds of casting photos and whenever she spotted a female who looked too sexy she`d slash a big, black X across their face,” a source told the Daily Star newspaper.

Kanye West amazing boyfriend to Kim Kardashian, says mother 

Los Angeles: Kris Jenner has given a thumbs up to Kanye West for being an amazing boyfriend to daughter Kim Kardashian and a great father to North.

The `Keeping Up With the Kardashians` praised the rapper on Ross Mathews` show and said she enjoyed having Kanye on her own chat show, reported Us magazine.

"I love him so much and he`s such an amazing boyfriend to Kim and a great dad and a wonderful person. And that`s why I thought it was so cool to have him on my show, and I got to sit down with him for an entire hour, and I think people saw this other side to him," Kris said.

"He`s creative and he`s an amazing, amazing human being, he really is. And he doesn`t always do interviews and get the chance to really express himself like that, so I was really glad that I got a chance to sit down and talk with him," she added.
Kris enjoyed babysitting North while Kim and Kanye were attending Paris fashion week. 

Returning to 'American Idol' was difficult decision: Jennifer Lopez

London: Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez says her decision to go back to singing talent hunt `American Idol` was quite difficult for her.

The 44-year-old singer is making a comeback to the show`s 13 th season after a gap of one year, reported Digital Spy.

"It was actually a difficult decision because I had a lot of stuff going on. It was going to be hard to fit it in. But, to be really honest, I just love the show and I love working with the singers," she said.

Lopez will be accompanied by two other judges Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr.

"And, this is working really great. So yeah, we`re having a great time. At the end of the day, everything that`s meant to be happens," she said.
`American Idol` will return in January 2014 on Fox.

Paul McCartney writes music in toilets

Los Angeles: Former Beatles singer Paul McCartney likes writing music in the bathroom or in cupboards.

The Beatles legend loves to "escape" by writing new lyrics and often finds the best place to explore his ideas is in the bathroom or a cupboard, reports contactmusic.com.

"(Songwriting) is a solitary process but that`s nice. The rest of the day isn`t solitary. I`m doing interviews or taking my girl to school or doing some filming. So I`m with loads of people,” said McCartney.

"It`s actually quite nice to go into a cupboard, or often bathrooms or toilets which have got good acoustics. So I go in there with a guitar. That`s kind of nice. And you escape into a world of your own thoughts,” he added.

London: Miley Cyrus has shed her clothes yet again for Terry Richardson`s racy new photo shoot.

The American photographer recently posted a few of the pics from the shoot on his website, Metro.co.uk reported.

In a few of the pictures, the `We Can`t Stop` hit maker can be seen wearing a minute leotard and posing provocatively with a soda can.
One snap shows the controversial star pulling her leotard up to her crotch.

Michael Fassbender flattered by sexiest movie star poll

Los Angeles: Actor Michael Fassbender is flattered to have been named the eighth sexiest male movie star worldwide in an online poll.

The 36-year-old actor was honoured to have made the top ten in a recent Empire online poll of the 100 sexiest movie stars, and especially to have placed ahead of Hollywood heartthrobs Hugh Jackman, who ranked ninth, and Bradley Cooper, who came tenth, reported E! online.
"They`re wonderful guys and very handsome, so thank you for packaging me together with them," Fassbender said.
The actor was beaten by British star Benedict Cumberbatch, who came first, followed by Tom Hiddleston and Henry Cavill.
Ryan Gosling took the fourth place, with Robert Downey Jr in fifth, Chris Hemsworth in sixth, and Robert Pattinson in seventh.



Sylvester Stallone-Schwarzenegger 'fake brawl' included in 'Escape Plan'

Los Angeles: Known to be the best of friends, action heroes Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger are also very competitive and this was shown when the two put up a fake fight and were seen blowing punches to each other on the sets of their film, `Escape Plan`.


The "fake brawl" that the two shared seemed so real to the director of the film Mikael Håfström that he decided to include the sequence into his film, said a statement.

The film is distributed by PVR pictures in India, and is all set for release Oct 18.

Despite being a longtime advocate of animal rights, Katy Perry found herself under fire from PETA this week after the charity claimed that the likes of the elephant, monkey and tiger used in her "Roar" video could have suffered great distress during its filming. The Billboard chart-topper has since responded with a letter from the American Humane Association which confirms that none of the animals in question were harmed in the shoot. But she's not the first pop star forced to defend her honor in such a manner. Here's a look at five others who incurred the wrath of the controversial activists.

I don't think I am a star: Alia Bhatt

Mumbai: Actress Alia Bhatt doesn`t feel like a star despite being in news for her line up of films and brand endorsements.

Post her debut film `Student Of The Year`, Alia will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali`s `Highway`, Karan Johar`s `2 States` and a film with Varun Dhawan.

"I don`t have much acting experience. I am not a star. I am learning... There is a long way to go. As of now I am dependent on my directors," she told reporters.

Alia was nervous before shooting for `Highway`, an intense road movie, as `Student Of The Year` was a light hearted film. She says her `Highway` co-star Randeep Hooda helped her.

"He is a great actor and helped me a lot, he made me feel comfortable. Though he is senior, he is as young as I am. It is just a perception that he is older. Rather, there were times when I was acting older and saying don`t do this or that," she said.
Alia, who would be seen opposite Arjun Kapoor in `2 States`, finds him extremely supportive.
"He is a great actor, I loved him in `Ishaqzaade`. He is an amazing person. He helped me in preparing for the role," the actress said who plays a South Indian girl in the film.
The actress, who is also the ambassador of cosmetic brand Maybelline, feels it`s good to be trendy.
"Fashion is important for all... It is the way of depicting yourself. People should groom themselves," she said.

Mumbai: Her father, uncles and brothers are named after characters from the Ramayana. So, actress Sonakshi Sinha feels that she and her mother, Poonam Sinha, are misfits in their own house which is named Ramayan.

The actress has been a part of films like ‘Dabangg’ and ‘Rowdy Rathore’. She has also performed an item number for Akshay Kumar`s forthcoming action film, ‘Boss’.
Sonakshi will be the guest celebrity on ‘Breakfast to Dinner’ Sunday.

Aamir Khan supporting 'Shahid' is big thing, says Hansal Mehta 

Mumbai: Filmmaker Hansal Mehta is happy that superstar Aamir Khan is promoting his upcoming film `Shahid`.
After Aamir saw the trailer of `Shahid`, based on the life of slain lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi, he decided to support the movie. The actor also posted the trailer on his official Facebook page.
"I am thankful to him (Aamir)... It feels good that he is promoting the film. It is a warm gesture," Mehta said."There was no reason for him to do so but he went ahead and spoke well about the film. He supporting the film is a big thing," Mehta said.
Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar played an active role in the promotion of Irrfan Khan starrer `The Lunchbox` as a presenter, while director Kiran Rao presented `Ship of Thesus`.
Both films, falling in `parallel` bracket, were benefited by the support, and did well at the box office. 
However, Mehta clarified that Aamir was not "presenting" the film.
Releasing on October 18, the film, starring Rajkumar of `Kai Po Che` fame, is distributed by UTV Motion Pictures.

Shah Rukh Khan copied JK Rowling’s Harvard speech?

New Delhi: We have heard Shah Rukh Khan tell his struggle tales several times in the past. But what makes his speech at the All India Management Association (AIMA) conference held in September is the fact that it resembles famous author JK Rowling’s speech at Harvard University in 2008.
The author of the `Harry Potter` series and the bestselling novel ‘The Cuckoo`s Calling’, JK Rowling, too had had her share of miseries such as poverty, broken marriage, failure and her tryst with success later in life which she spoke about during the speech given by the novelist at the Harvard.
Bangalore-based social media consultant Agratha Dinakaran was the first one to notice and report the apparent plagiarism of Rowling’s speech by Shah Rukh in his blog (mercurialpurple.blogspot.com).
In her speech, Rowling said that poverty was not an `ennobling experience`. She further said, "Poverty entails fear, and stress, and sometimes depression; it means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships."
Now what really raises the eyebrows, are these words, courtesy – Shah Rukh Khan: "Let me tell you, poverty is not an ennobling experience at all. Poverty entails fear and stress and sometimes, depression. I`ve seen my parents go through it many times - it means a thousand petty humiliations and hardships."
JK Rowling further said, "Happiness lies in knowing that life is not a check-list of acquisition or achievement. Your qualifications, your CV, are not your life, though you will meet many people of my age and older who confuse the two. Life is difficult, and complicated, and beyond anyone`s total control, and the humility to know that will enable you to survive its vicissitudes."
Taking a cue from the above lines, Shah Rukh Khan said: "I`d like to tell you all that life is not just a checklist of acquisitions, attainments and fulfilments. Your qualifications and CVs don`t matter, your jobs don`t matter. Instead, life is difficult and complicated and beyond your control, and to know that with humility, respecting your failures will help you survive its vicissitudes."
Now we wonder who to blame for the blatant plagiarism – SRK or the one who really wrote the speech for him!

'Ram Leela' is my huge ticket: Gulshan Devaiah

Mumbai: Actor Gulshan Deviah admits that his negative character in ‘Ram Leela’ is like a dream role for him but he also feels that he is getting typecast in Bollywood. Nevertheless, he believes ‘Ram Leela’ is going to be his "big ticket".
"I feel now I am getting typecast in Bollywood, but it`s not the makers` fault," Gulshan said.

"I am glad that soon after this film, I am doing two films in which I am not playing a negative role. I think it will be the right way to break the image," he added.
Gulshan was earlier seen in films like ‘Shaitan’ and ‘Hate Story’.
Bagging a role in ‘Ram Leela’, a film by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has been a dream come true.
"`Ram Leela` is like my huge ticket. I am thankful to Sanjay sir for casting me in the film. I am playing a negative role... a man who is very proud of himself, egoistic, angry and a complex character. I thought I won`t be able to pull off the role, but luckily I managed to," he said.

India is the new flavour in Hollywood: R Madhavan

Mumbai: Actor R Madhavan says filmmakers in West have realised the potential of Indian actors being able to take a film to wider audience which is why they want to rope them in Hollywood films.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and others have been part of Hollywood films. Now, Madhavan is set to do `Night Of The Living Dead: Origins`, produced by Simon West of `Con Air` and `Lara Croft: Tomb Raider` fame. It is a remake of 1968 zombie film `Night Of The Living Dead`.
"India has become the flavour in Hollywood... They (filmmakers) suddenly realised that Indian actors get more eyeballs than Hollywood actors," he said in an interview here.
"So, if they have an Indian actor in their TV series for example, it gets watched in Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Africa, South Africa much more than if American actors are there," he explained.
"Like by having Mr Amitabh Bachchan in `The Great Gatsby`, the number of people watching the film online or offline increases 25 times, that is where the money is. So now they are including Indian as well as Chinese actors, which is a very smart thing," he said.
The 43-year-old actor said he is doing a film in Hollywood just to experience working in a different set up.
"It is just another opportunity to do a film in different language that I am comfortable with. If I could speak Chinese, I would have done a film in that language as well. The excitement is to do a film in different set of technology. I am not doing it to prove a point to anyone... It is basically a small film in terms of what it is in Hollywood," he said.
The Hollywood venture happened by chance for Madhavan, who had gone there for a personal reason and through his friend he met filmmaker Simon West.
"`Night of the Living Dead` is a classic American film, it
is like `Sholay` with a foreigner. Simon and me got along well. We did a screen test and next day I got the film," Madhavan said.
He will play the role of a US marine officer who gets caught up in a zombie attack in New York City.
While Indian actors are often criticised for doing a small role in Hollywood films, Madhavan made sure not to end up doing the same.
"I told them very clearly that if you are giving me a small role like of a doctor, etc then I will not do it, I don`t need to do it. I was clear I will not do a small role. But they said it is one of the main leads, there are four lead actors in the film," he said.
Despite being part of the industry for over a decade, shooting for a Hollywood film was a bit intimidating for him. When he was doing the film, the makers were told about his work in films like `3 Idiots` and others.
"There was a hype that was built around me. I was really nervous, everybody told me do the rehearsals and start with an easy scene. I told them to start with tough part, I did the emotional scene - yelling and crying part first, as they think it is the toughest part. But for an Indian actor it is easy as we do it every day. They liked it, found it amazing," he said.
Madhavan was amazed with the technology used for the film.
"It is like in the coming years one can shoot a film with Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone where both will look the same age and the shoot can happen at their home, they don`t have to come out. I think this type of technology will be a new technique of filmmaking," he said.
He said in Hollywood, actors do not perform stunts, they have a stunt man for it.
"Unless you are a trained stunt man you can`t do anything. So `Superman`, `Batman` is all done by others, they don`t do anything. That is the reason you will not hear of actors getting injured over there," Madhavan added.


Anita Advani bids adieu to 'Bigg Boss-Saath 7'

Mumbai: After British-Indian actress Hazel Keech and actor Rajat Rawail, Anita Advani ended her stint in the `Bigg Boss` house Saturday.
Advani, who claims to be Rajesh Khanna`s live-in partner, was seen sharing anecdotes of her life with the late superstar with inmates VJ Andy and Shilpa Agnihotri.

Advani had earlier confessed on the show that she was in the house to over come her depression after the superstar`s death in July last year.
She was seen bonding with actors Armaan Kohli and Tanishaa Mukerji off late.
Along with her, the other contestants who were nominated for this eviction included VJ Andy, Gauhar Khan, Elli Avram and Asif Azim.
Now the remaining contestants include VJ Andy, Gauhar, Kushal Tandon, Apoorva Agnihotri and wife Shilpa Agnihotri, Tanishaa, Armaan, Asif, Sangram Singh, Elli, Ratan Rajput, Kamya Punjabi and Pratyusha Banerjee.

Is Lorne Michaels Masterminding the Feud Between Miley Cyrus and Sinead O'Connor?

We haven't heard much in the way of Sinead O'Connor in the past decade. Her name still inspires recollection of the 1992 Saturday Night Live performance that saw her tear up a photograph of then-active Pope John Paul II while singing the line "Fight the real enemy" during a rendition of her popular number "War." Over 20 years and half a dozen albums later and O'Connor is still unable to escape the looming shadow of this '92 controversy.
But is this just the converged potencies of nostalgia and celebrity scandals? Or is there something foul going on behind the curtains?

O'Connor's name is bound to come up in the same conversation as Saturday Night Live again this weekend, but for an entirely different reason. On Saturday, Miley Cyrus will take to the Studio 8H stage, hosting the variety program following a ganglion of her own volatile buzz — the lasting result of her VMAs performance and every bit of public attention she has received thereafter. This week in particular, Cyrus found herself the focus of an open letter penned by none other than O'Connor, who pointed out the error in the young music artist's conduct. After a hostile response by Cyrus, O'Connor was driven to lashing out with a more decided venom, providing those adhered to the gossip headlines a feud more than worthy of replacing the newly dissipated enmity between Drake and Chris Brown.
But the timing is interesting. Miley's VMAs performance took place at the end of August. Her "Wrecking Ball" video came out in early September. Why then, on Oct. 2, would O'Connor first decide to write an essay expressing to Cyrus the criminal behaviors of the music industry and pleading with her to distance herself from their grasp? Because this week is Cyrus' Saturday Night Live gig.
Thanks to the buzz-factor of the 20-year-old host, there are bound to be a handful of viewers tuning into this weekend's broadcast of the NBC tentpole. Not to see her music, not to see her comedy, but to see her shenanigans. To see what crazy stunt she'll pull next. And artists of integrity though they may be, it would behoove the minds behind SNL to make sure that Miley doesn't disappoint. That's why SNL top banana Lorne Michaels is calling in the big guns: O'Connor, whose papal debacle was the most brazen, talk-worthy thing to come out of the show since that first utterance of "Jane, you ignorant slut."
Perhaps Michaels has masterminded this O'Connor/Cyrus feud in order to recreate the same high-profile controversy his show saw back in '92 — Miley ripping a photo of Sinead, of Madonna (who lambasted the performance one week later) taking Cyrus' side, or perhaps of O'Connor herself showing up to proverbially duke it out with the youthful twerker in the second hour of the show.
And as for O'Connor, maybe this is her chance to be free, once and for all, from these connotations. To pass the torch to Miley — to allow her to claim the title of "that girl who did that crazy thing on SNL that time." And Miley... well, we're sure she's in no way averse to this additional spike in buzz. So it's a win-win-win for Miley, Sinead, and good ol' Lorne.

Shirtless Aaron Eckhart Is What Passes for Monstrous in 'I, Frankenstein' Trailer 

Maybe we're a bunch of crotchety old people, but the new trailer for I, Frankenstein, looks nothing like the 19th century gothic horror classic that we all pretended to read in high school. We certainly don’t remember Frankenstein's monster surfing on top subway trains (or maybe that Sparknotes summary had more holes than we thought).
At least there's a logical reason for these disparities: I, Frankenstein draws from the graphic novel that it's based on rather than Mary Shelley's original novel. Kevin Grevioux, the author of the graphic novel, also wrote the screenplay for the film.


This continuation of the Frankenstein lore features a handsomely scarred Aaron Eckhart, stitched together with various parts of murdered Abercrombie and Fitch catalogue models, fighting off gargoyle monsters that explode into fiery tendrils. He also found time, in between the monster vanquishing to go to the nearest Hot Topic and buy the perfect hoodie that symbolizes all of his immortal angst. One that he takes off quite frequently to show off that hot bod.

Nina Dobrev Gets Naked for Obamacare

Nina Dobrev is the latest celeb to join the #GetCovered movement. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, Healthcare.gov launched the health insurance marketplace that, under the Afforable Care Act will provide health insurance to everyone who needs it. The administration launched the site despite the government shutdown that was perpetrated by the Republican Party's efforts to slow down the health care laws.

When the marketplace opened on Tuesday, social media sites lit up with pictures and tweets from celebs who urged young people to #GetCovered. Stars like Kerry Washington, Olivia Wilde, Connie Britton, Emily Van Camp, Pharell, and Sophia Bush collectively pushed for Obamacare by posting these photos and tweets.

Reese Witherspoon to Star in 'Happily Ever After,' a Disney Princess Story 10 Years Past the Magic

In the hands of an increasingly self-aware media, the traditional fairy tale romance has come under fire in the past couple of decades. The genre has earned a wealth of criticism that includes accusations of instilling limiting female role models and harmfully unrealistic illustrations of relationships. As such, we've seen a wave of deconstruction: subtle entries like Shrek, Ella Enchanted, and the upcoming play-to-film adaptation Into the Woods. Now, Reese Witherspoon — with a hue and bone structure that seem to be modeled after those of a fabled royal — is delivering Happily Ever After, a Disney film that looks to showcase what happens to your standard prince and the princess 10 years down the line.
A decade past being whisked off from the clutches of a dragon or a witch or whatever evil might have befallen Witherspoon's character, we find her and her husband struggling to keep their relationship afloat. But how biting do we expect this potentially interesting project to be? On the one hand, it's a Disney production, which suggests that a happy ending will indeed follow a rocky rom-com set-up. But there's hope: the premise was pitched to the studio by Nahnatchka Khan, the creator of the short-lived Don't Trust the B— in Apartment 23, a sitcom that was unapologetically acerbic and devilish.
Disney, through ABC, allowed Khan free reign over her dark sense of humor with Don't Trust the B—
(a television show that was cut down before its due), so perhaps we'll see another impressively caustic tale in Witherspoon's Happily Ever After. After all, the actress has gained quite a colorful reputation in recent months.

Ranveer Singh heads home with Deepika Padukone

Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram aka Ranveer Singh, who was undergoing treatment for dengue since Friday last week, was discharged from Hinduja Surgical Healthcare in Khar, Mumbai, Thursday.
His ‘Ram-Leela’ co-star and rumoured ladylove Deepika Padukone was spotted with the actor, as he was coming out of the hospital almost after a week.

The actor had contracted the disease while he was shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Gunday’ in Durgapur, West Bengal.
Ranveer waved at the paparazzi and his fans waiting outside the hospital. He also took to Twitter a couple of days back to thank his well-wishers for their prayers.
He tweeted, “Your love & blessings have helped me fight this illness ! Thank you all for the warmth & wishes that helped me tide over my weakest hour (sic).”
Ace filmmaker Bhansali was concerned about his lead actor’s health and had cancelled the music launch of ‘Ram-Leela’.
"Ranveer Singh is on the road to recovery. However, doctors have advised complete rest for the next 15 days," the actor’s spokesperson said in a statement.

Will Shah Rukh Khan work with Shirish Kunder again?

Mumbai: After the infamous midnight spat between Shah Rukh Khan and Shirish Kunder at Sanjay Dutt’s bash in 2012, the two haven’t worked together.
But the duo might be a part of the same project if all goes well. The project in question is Farah Khan’s film ‘Happy New Year’ starring SRK, Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah.

As a filmmaker, Farah shares great understanding with her editor husband Kunder, who has worked with her in ‘Main Hoon Na’, ‘Om Shanti Om’ and ‘Tees Maar Khan’.
Reportedly, Shirish was Farah’s only choice as an editor for ‘Happy New Year’. But apparently Shirish was occupied with other professional commitments. But now, Farah is keen to have him on board.
The choreographer-turned-filmmaker had landed in a awkward situation after her better half- Shirish- and best friend- Shah Rukh- ended up having a heated argument after the former took a dig at the latter on Twitter.
However, subsequently, Shirish realised his folly and tweeted apologising for his comments and thus extended an olive branch to the superstar.Here’s hoping to see the young hunk of an actor in action soon!

‘Rajjo’ Kangana Ranaut’s rendezvous with Kapil Sharma

Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut, who is all set to sizzle on the silverscreen as ‘Rajjo’, made her presence felt on the sets of Kapil Sharma’s ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’.The pretty lass had a rocking time with the star comedian on his show. Kapil was at the receiving hands this time around as Kangana made most of her wit and sense of humour to pull his leg.

Even Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is a part of the super-hit show, couldn’t stop himself from shaking a leg with the talented actress.

Kapil is back with a bang after the set of his show in Film City, Goregaon, was reduced to ashes after a massive fire broke out in the last week of September following a short circuit.

Hollywood Needs to Stop Telling Jennifer Lawrence She's Fat

America — no, the entire world — is in love with Jennifer Lawrence. It's no secret, it's been reported on over and over. So, it's no surprise that in Lawrence's new interview, she once again captures our hearts and our heads when she speaks out against the over-the-top expectations in Hollywood, and how she refuses to conform.
In the November issue of Harper's Bazaar UK, Lawrence says she is still facing pressure from Hollywood to be stick thin. When she was just starting out, the first overweight comments began, but she brushed it off as, "It was just the kind of s**t that actresses have to go through." But Lawrence explains it quickly began to get more personal. "Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn't lose a certain amount of weight. They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivations for my diet. They thought that because of the way my career had gone, it wouldn't still hurt me. That somehow, after I won an Oscar, I'm above it all." Lawrence goes on to explain that it doesn't matter what kind of compliments or awards you get, an insult is an insult. Thankfully, Lawrence tries to not let it bother her anymore, instead claiming, "If anybody even tries to whisper the word 'diet,' I'm like, 'You can go f**k yourself.'" Hallelujah Jen.
Lawrence goes to gain our eternal adoration by explaining her love of chips, Cheez-Its and on-set catering. "My bodyguard Gilbert, right before they call 'action,' I’m like, 'If there aren’t Cheez-Its here by the time they call cut, just go home.' And he’ll start running. It cracks me up how seriously he takes it…. It’s not my performance that is motivating me. I want to get the on-set catering."
While Lawrence is arguably the most vocal about her hatred of the Hollywood body standard, other actors have also refused to conform to the unrealistic demands. For instance, Jennifer Love Hewitt got serious backlash in 2007 when she was photographed on vacation looking normal, as opposed to airbrushed to "perfection," in a bikini. Hewitt spoke out saying, "I know what I look like, and so do my friends and family. And like all women out there should, I love my body. To all girls with butts, boobs, hips and a waist, put on a bikini -- put it on and stay strong."
Demi Lovato is another famous face that has publicly dealt with her body issues. At the age of 12, Lovato developed an eating disorder, and after going to rehab, Lovato has returned to the spotlight looking healthy and happy. She says she now knows, "It's OK to love your body the way it is and it's OK to reach out and ask for help."
We seriously hope this this trend of standing up for all body types will continue, and that other Hollywood actors will come forward to criticize the unreleastic Hollywood standards... or at least get photographed eating a burger once in a while. Lady Gaga may pull out of 'The X Factor'

London: Singer Lady Gaga has reportedly threatened to pull out of her special performance on show ‘The X Factor’ after judge Sharon Osbourne`s crude remarks against her.

Osbourne is said to have called Gaga vile, a bully and a hypocrite in her new autobiography.

Osbourne has claimed that Gaga had encouraged her fans to torment her daughter Kelly, 28, with online abuse. This has not gone down well with Gaga, reports dailystar.co.uk.

Gaga, 27, reportedly hit back saying that she was "in no mood" to be in the same building as Osbourne, said the former`s friends.

Sinead O'Connor pens open letter to Miley Cyrus

Los Angeles: Irish singer Sinead O`Connor has written an open letter to Miley Cyrus, warning her about the evils of music industry.

Cyrus, who was criticised for a naked video of track ‘Wrecked ball’, said that it was inspired from Connor’s 1990’s track ‘Nothing compares 2 u’.

In the open, letter O`Connor wrote: “I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way ‘cool’ to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos.”

“It is in fact the case that you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be p***ed, whether it’s the music business or yourself doing the p***ing,” she added.

O`Connor has shared with Cyrus that shedding clothes will not help her let go of her image of a child star.

London: Actress Helena Bonham Carter`s longtime partner Tim Burton has been spotted embracing a mystery woman following a cinema date in Hampstead.

The ‘Edward Scissorhands’ director is dressed in jeans and a jacket as he follows the blonde, who looks younger than him, into the cinema, reported Showbiz spy.

Burton, 55, has been in a long term relationship with Bonham Carter for 12 years.

When Deepika Padukone visited an ailing Ranveer Singh

Mumbai: Deepika Padukone visited Ranveer Singh, who has been undergoing treatment for dengue in a hospital since Friday last week.

The lead actress of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram-Leela’, which is slated to release on November 15, had special permission to meet her co-star and dear friend.

Reportedly, even Deepika is not in the best of her health as she injured herself while shooting for a sequence of Bhansali’s magnum opus.
Ranveer was running with high fever while he was shooting in Durgapur near Kolkata for ‘Gunday’ last week. The actor apparently, continued to shoot despite fever in order to avoid any inconvenience and loss to the production, his official spokesperson said in a statement.
The actor underwent tests after returning to Mumbai and was diagnosed with dengue.
Here’s wishing the young and talented actor speedy recovery.

‘Besharam’ review: Ranbir Kapoor fails to impress!

‘Besharam’, Ranbir Kapoor’s latest release has a basic problem - it does not live up to its name.
When you watch Ranbir you do not expect an out and out ‘Besharam’ comedy. However you do expect some smart assery if that is what is projected in all its promos. Good performances, the Kapoor clan, and some good humour could not really create the magic that you expect from the entire crew. The young Kapoor is a teen heart throb, here he tries to be more, and doesn’t really do too well.
‘Dabbang’ was a great make of classic masala film making that came from Abhinav Kashyap, and was pulled off with élan by Salman Khan. Salman stood out in his archaic 1990s hero avatar, delivering loudmouthed-applause-inducing dialogues looking as if he spoke like this every day. Despite Ranbir’s refreshing acting skills, he falls short – probably because he looks just out of ‘Wake up Sid’ cuteness.
Humour is just spattered insufficiently and inconsistently. The parts where you end up enjoying the most are Rishi and Neetu Kapoor’s sequences, and by the end you are disappointed that they did not have as much screen time as you would have liked. It looks like Abhinav wanted to work with a plot that involved all three, but his ambitions stopped short right there. He did not bother with a plot line which was fantastical enough to accommodate all three of them sharing the screen space and make a compelling must watch blockbuster.
The story revolves around a good hearted orphan, Babli (Ranbir), who has grown up to be a car thief. He falls for the ‘beauty’ Tara Sharma (Pallavi Sharda). Rishi and Neetu play a slightly corrupt, cop couple - Chulbul and Bulbul Chautala. The movie has a predictable plot, atypical of masala flicks, using stereotypes of every kind. The love story between Babli and Tara is unconvincing. Not that you need a why and a how, but it doesn’t build up at all.
Also, one major grouse I had with the movie was that I was waiting to understand why Babli was called Besharam in the first place. By the standards of how Indian movie heroes are generally shown wooing ladies, Babli was quite a softy, giving flowers to the leading ladies mom, carrying her grocery. Apart from what you have seen in the promos, Ranbir never goes beyond pulling out socks from his pants.
The other two Kapoors are fantastic. Every time Rishi and Neetu appear on screen they manage to entertain. From the first chase sequence to the climax, the few minutes that they have, they have pulled off the chemistry that they were known for back in the 70s. Neetu Kapoor plays gutsy, stands on equal footing as Rishi, and has a good comic timing. She jibes and jokes with Rishi, who is equally cute with her whenever they are seen together. It’s like watching an old endearing couple still in love who have managed to keep the fire alive because of their romance infused in a sense of humour.
The first half of the movie is rather floppy, but the second half of the movie picks up the plot. But the climax is worth watching. Rishi, Neetu and Ranbir fight side by side; Rishi Kapoor takes the centre stage and you realise Kashyap probably made the movie only for this scene.
The music of the movie comes from Lalit Pandit who is the part of the 90s famed Jatin-Lalit duo. ‘Dil Ka Joh Haal Hai’ which is filmed near the traditional lahlahate sarso ke khet sounds like a track straight out of that decade. Another refreshing track is ‘Love ki Ghanti’ which reminds you of Kishore Kumar’s fun songs from the 60s. It has a conversation structure and sounds really fun! The title track and the other tracks, even though nothing to write home about are more or less enjoyable.
As Ranbir fan, one would not really mind the movie. But it does not make an impact as ‘Dabbang’ moment for the hero. The superstar in the making is probably is a much better actor than a masala entertainer and that’s something that he has proven in his previous movies. The filmmaker did not have a proper vision for an actor of Ranbir’s calibre and this one is certainly not the best for either of them!

If I ever have a child, I wish it’s a girl, says Salman Khan

Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan, who is busy shooting for his film ‘Jai Ho’, has managed to take out time to create awareness of the ‘Girl Child, Women Empowerment’ programme, and says if he ever has a child, he wishes it should be a girl.

"If I ever have a child.. Insh`allah I will... I wish its a girl. I want a girl child," Salman said at the press conference of the social cause.

Salman Khan is supporting the cause along with Miss Universe Olivia Culpo and Sanjana Jon who is in India for 10 days for the awareness programme.

Salman asks how can you kill the child even before its birth.
"How can you kill a child even before its birth... It’s not about awareness, its about your mentality. If you kill the girl child, eventually there will be no mothers and sisters and guys will have no women to marry. Women play a huge role in our lives."
The actor further revealed he is glad that he has two sisters who are taking care of his parents better than any of them.
"Women are ruling today... how can they be a burden. In my family I have two sisters and they takes care of my parents more than any of us. I am glad I have two sisters."

Ranveer unwell, 'Ramleela' music launch cancelled

Mumbai: The music launch of `Ramleela` has been cancelled as the film`s lead actor Ranveer Singh is down with dengue.

The decision has been taken by the film`s director Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

A source close to the team revealed: "It was Bhansali`s decision to cancel the music launch as he felt there is no point in releasing the music of `Ramleela` without Ram (played by Ranveer). For Sanjay, Ranveer`s health is more important than anything else."

Ranveer, who has been diagnosed with dengue, was undergoing treatment in a hospital here. He will be discharged Thursday.

`Ramleela` will see Ranveer romancing Deepika Padukone.

Hrithik Roshan starrer 'Krrish 3' release date advanced

Mumbai: Filmmaker Rakesh Roshan Thursday confirmed that his much-awaited movie ‘Krrish 3’ will now release Nov 1 instead of Nov 4.

"It was a decision taken by the distributors and exhibitors that the film should come on Nov 1. I agreed with them, so now the movie will release on Nov 1," Rakesh Roshan said.

Diwali falls Nov 3, which is a Sunday.

"Diwali is coming on a Sunday, so it is good to release the film before that," he added.
‘Krrish 3’, the third film in the franchise that began with ‘Koi Mil Gaya’ in 2003, features Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Vivek Oberoi and Kangana Ranaut in key roles.

Don't want to join politics, says Salman Khan

Mumbai: Actor Salman Khan, who is actively involved in various social causes, says he will never join politics and would rather focus on some social issue.

"I don`t want to join politics but I will definitely join some social cause. Politics for me is social work... there is a man who takes care of the constituency. Its social work," Salman said.

Salman and his Being Human foundation have been actively involved with various social causes.
